Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Master Yan’s Smile, Just a Disguise
The next day, 10 a.m.
Li Qiao was awoken by the vibrating sound of her cellphone.
She had bandaged up Luoyu’s wound last night, and after that, they went their separate ways at the foot of the Renhe Laboratory building.
By the time she got home and busied herself with things, it was close to two in the morning when she finally went to bed.
Li Qiao was very irritable when she woke up, and unfortunately, she had left her phone on the table last night. The vibration sounded over and over again, enormously disturbing to her senses.
After half a minute, she expressionlessly got out of bed, picked up her phone intending to turn it off but suddenly realized that the call was from Liuyun.
She composed herself and softened her tone somewhat as she answered the call, "What’s the matter?"
There was some commotion at the other end of the line.
And Liuyun’s deliberately lowered voice also sounded particularly heavy, "Miss Li, could you... please come to South Sea Mansion."
Hearing that something was off with Liuyun, Li Qiao brushed her hair from her forehead and narrowed her eyes, "What happened?"
"Please come first. Otherwise... I’m afraid Luoyu won’t hold up!"
Li Qiao rubbed the temple of her forehead, "What’s wrong with her?"
Could it be that her arm injury had worsened?
But Li Qiao was very confident in her own ability to treat wounds and it was unlikely she had made a misjudgment.
At that moment, Liuyun’s voice lowered even further, almost whispering, "Miss Li, I’m afraid only you can persuade the boss now."
Shang Yu has returned?
Not bothering to ask for more details, Li Qiao quickly washed up and dressed in a casual jacket and jeans before heading out.
By not quite eleven o’clock, Li Qiao arrived at South Sea Mansion.
After getting out of the car, she did not delay and familiarly entered the Mansion. As soon as she stepped into the lobby, she immediately sensed that the atmosphere was not right.
It was quieter and more solemn than usual, eerily silent without a sound to be heard.
Li Qiao stood at the entrance and looked around. A few seconds later, Liuyun’s figure appeared near the elevator.
He was wearing just a white shirt with two buttons undone at the collar, and his hair was slightly messy. Notably, there were bloodstains on the fabric of his arm.
Li Qiao’s eyes instantly darkened as she approached Liuyun, "Master Yan is back?"
Liuyun gestured towards the elevator, his mood very tense, "Yes, he’s back. Miss Li, this way, please."
In less than half a minute, Li Qiao followed Liuyun to the second basement level training room.
Throughout it all, Liuyun said nothing, and his expression showed no sign of relaxation.
At the entrance of the nearly thousand-square meter training room, Li Qiao walked in steadily. She looked up and saw Luoyu, pale as death, fighting on the ring against a bodyguard, the match closely contested.
At this moment, around the spacious ring, nearly twenty men in black suits thronged around.
Each wore a stern expression, their presence formidable, and they were surreptitiously limbering up.
Li Qiao was puzzled. Scanning the area, she quickly spotted Shang Yu sitting leisurely in an armchair near the ring, with his shirt collar slightly open and legs crossed comfortably.
The man’s lips were slightly upturned, seemingly in a good mood, but with just one glance, Li Qiao could see the thinly veiled indifference and chill in his eyes
The smile was just a façade.
At this point, Li Qiao walked forward, her eyes fixed on the ring. She watched as Luoyu, exhausted, managed to kick a bodyguard off the ring, and immediately after, the man’s languid, magnetic voice rang out, "Next."
Li Qiao understood at once, it was a gauntlet!
The group of bodyguards standing tall below the ring were Luoyu’s challengers.
Not to mention that she was injured, even a healthy person, fighting one after another like this, would be either dead or crippled.
Li Qiao silently sighed, stepped forward through the crowd and called out clearly, "Wait a second."
