Chapter 100: Chapter 100: What advice do you have?
Li Qiao coldly glanced at Luoyu, too lazy to guess her thoughts, and leaned in to open the lunchbox, "Let’s eat."
Shang Yu unfolded his crossed legs, taking chopsticks from the girl’s hand, as the fragrance of three dishes and a soup instantly filled the office.
They ate as if nobody else was present, while Liuyun and Luoyu stood silently in front of the table, waiting.
Li Qiao was picky, even meticulously removing the bits of green onion used for seasoning.
"Don’t like garlic sprouts?" Shang Yu watched as Li Qiao deliberately avoided the stir-fried garlic sprouts and couldn’t help but smirk and ask.
Li Qiao pursed her lips around her chopsticks and nodded, "It’s not tasty."
Then, Luoyu saw Shang Yu move the plate to his own front and painstakingly picked out all the green onion bits from the cumin lamb, pushing it toward Li Qiao.
Luoyu found it unbelievable and unacceptable.
He is Shang Shaoyan, the South Sea merchant, the master of the Secret Hall, the faith that countless people worship.
How could he stoop so low for a woman, doing these things?
"Boss, let me..." Luoyu suddenly knitted his brows and leaned forward, intending to step up and pick out the food for Li Qiao.
But before the words were completed, Shang Yu, with his elbow propped on his knee, slowly lifted his head with a chilly tone, "Quiet."
Luoyu’s breath hitched, and he almost hung his head, his heart in a flurry.
This Miss Li, what kind of background did she have that warranted such protection from the boss?
...
A meal lasted twenty minutes, during which Li Qiao ate unhurriedly.
Perhaps due to the presence of Luoyu and Liuyun, her appetite wasn’t great; she only ate a third of a bowl of rice before putting down her chopsticks.
"Full already?" Shang Yu added a piece of beef to her bowl, looking sidelong at the girl’s faintly impatient demeanor with an indulgent tone.
Li Qiao nodded and remained silent.
Shang Yu then promptly put down his chopsticks and gestured with his eyes towards the water dispenser, prompting Liuyun to immediately turn and fetch water.
"Miss Li, please have some water."
Liuyun’s impeccably respectful demeanor once again made Luoyu feel incapacitated.
She watched coldly, a fierce fire burning in her heart.
The four main assistants of the Yan Emperor, serving only Shaoyan.
Since when did they have to bow and scrape to a milk-nosed little girl?
At that moment, Shang Yu caressed his teacup, watching Li Qiao drink water, his lips slightly parted with an inquiring yet clearly assertive tone, "Have you finished translating the documents I gave you this morning?"
Li Qiao held the cup with both hands, sipping in small gulps, and upon hearing his question, she set down the cup and stood up to walk to her own desk. She picked up the materials, returned, and handed them to Shang Yu, "They’ve been organized according to the timeline, the translated content is at the back."
Shang Yu took them and then handed them to Luoyu, "Take a look."
Luoyu, confused but still rapidly browsed through the documents.
The medical manual of the Yan Emperor’s pharmaceutical company, three documents, nearing two hundred pages.
The content was complete, the sequence clear, especially the translated documents at the back; many medical terms were appropriately used.
Luoyu gripped the file tightly, "All of this... did you translate and organize it?"
When Li Qiao spoke, her tone didn’t come across as gentle; it even carried a somewhat arrogant provocation.
Luoyu pursed her lips and had to lower her eyelids, "I wouldn’t dare advise, the translation is... very good."
To be fair, even for her, who had lived abroad for a long time, it might not have been possible to translate the medical manual so accurately.
