Chapter 46: I did it but I feel like dying
"About the incident in the last dungeon... you don’t have to worry. Besides the people involved, Yoon Seoyul kept all of it hidden from reaching the outside world. There is almost no information on you on the internet. The public doesn’t know anything, and I know you hadn’t intended for it to happen, so keep your head held up high."
"The next time I see your face in an article or on the news, I want to be able to see it clearly."
Tearing the ice pop, Kim Ryung handed it back to Cheon Areum, who had finished the one hanging from his mouth. The ice pop he received from him had become lukewarm.

"You’re not going to tell me anything?"
If he dared to tell Yoon Seoyul what he was planning to do, he was certain the car would make a sharp U-turn and head in the exact opposite direction of the gate.
"It’s hard to explain. You’ll see when I do it."
The gate was scheduled during the day, and the location was perfect too—right in front of the Seoul Museum of History. But that meant it would be crowded with reporters and fans who somehow always knew where Yoon Seoyul would be. The only ones going for the S-Class gate were Cheon Areum and Yoon Seoyul.
An S+ Class and an S-Class. Some would argue they could do it, and some would ridicule them for thinking only the two of them could do it. That’s what everyone who saw just them getting off at the gate would think. What no one was expecting was Cheon Areum closing the gate all by himself. For a first impression, this wasn’t bad—unless he messed up completely...
The car came up to the path leading to the gate. That was the farthest they could drive into the packed entrance of the museum. Cheon Areum had guessed there would be bodyguards like previously, but Yoon Seoyul calmly got out of the car with no one else to protect him. He followed suit, half-expecting to be swarmed by reporters, but surprisingly, everyone stepped back themselves, clearing out the path to the gate without a single word.
Yoon Seoyul extended his hand towards him. Cheon Areum obediently placed his hand in his palm. If Yoon Seoyul wasn’t going to address the rumors of them dating, then there wasn’t really a need to do it. It was better than being labeled a villain.
Camera flashes and loud voices surrounded them as they walked to the gate. Not being able to look at the quick white lights, he decided to just stare at Yoon Seoyul’s back, who was unflurriedly stepping with the usual nonchalance he showed the others. Seeing the gate just within reach, Cheon Areum walked ahead of him. Stopping just before the gate, he let go of Yoon Seoyul’s hand.
"Just watch me and don’t interfere."
"Don’t even think of entering the gate alone."
Warning him, Yoon Seoyul stood directly behind him.
"You can always follow me."
The idea he had come up with was insane, to say the least—but it could work. The only S+ skill he had yet to use, and the S-Class gate—who would come out on top? The last time, he had commanded countless monsters into submission without even using his skill. If he were to use that skill, with how he could naturally manipulate negative energy... manipulating the gate into closing itself didn’t seem all that difficult. Explaining it all to the masses would also take too much of his time and energy, so he decided to just do it in front of their eyes.
"Yoon Seoyul, don’t come too close to me. The same goes for the other people here. I’m going to use my skill."
Not agreeing with him, he held onto him by the collar from behind. Cheon Areum stretched his head backward, a smile playing on his lips.
"Are you afraid I’ll ruin your reputation or mine? You didn’t seem to care about not using your skills outside the gate before."
"I’m only worried about you."
"Fair enough."
Rotating back to the gate, he whispered to himself:
"System, activate Mind Corruption."
[Mind Corruption activated.]
[You are currently using the skill: Mind Corruption. Your ability to corrupt negative energy will be enhanced during its activation.]
Upon receiving the prompts from the system, a surge of shadowy energy burst forth toward the gate, engulfing the large structure in its shadow. A few screams arose from the crowd as Cheon Areum covered the gate in his energy—and his body. A hand slightly pulled his coat from behind, but he stood in the same place. Even with his eyes open, all he saw was pitch black. His heartbeat transpired into chaos, as if he were stuck in a nightmare. If he had to describe it... it was exactly as if he were trying to kidnap a demon and put it to sleep.
Unknowingly closing his eyes, sweat pooled on his head as he struggled to win against the gate while his energy was being sucked at an unimaginable speed.
"Look! Is the gate shrinking?"
"The gate is being compressed?!"
Hearing voices again was a good sign. Cheon Areum’s knees nearly buckled under the crushing pressure, but he refused to back down. With unwavering resolve, he forced the gate to collapse in on itself. The moment his fists clenched and his eyes snapped open, the gate responded—twisting, contorting, and devouring its own form until it vanished completely from sight.
"The gate disappeared...."
"That’s impossible!"
"Can you tell us which skill you used?"
"What’s your name? You’re the first person ever to close the gate without entering!"
"This is a historical moment—how do you feel about achieving such a feat?"
Each reporter shouted more fervently than the previous one. Yoon Seoyul held onto him when he was about to fall to the ground. Something was wrong. His heartbeat was slowing down consistently. Growing dizzier, he clenched onto Yoon Seoyul’s clothes.
"...Get me out of here."
