Chapter 1801: Chapter 1898: Astonishing Secret
Even though it was just a few fleeting moments, only Fang Lin understood the peril involved.
If it weren’t for Fang Lin having memories of his former life, intimately familiar with everything about the Pill Saint Palace, and coincidentally knowing the structure of the array in the Book Collection Tower, he wouldn’t have been able to infiltrate the second floor so easily.
Even now, on the second floor, Fang Lin remained vigilant, completely concealing his aura. With the pills he had prepared beforehand, after consuming them, he became even harder to detect.
The reason for going to such great lengths to enter the second floor of this Book Collection Tower was that Fang Lin wanted to find any ancient books related to Mountain Tu and Mo Shouhe.
Fang Lin regretted that in his previous life, he was completely immersed in the Alchemy Tao and never glanced at other ancient books in the Book Collection Tower. If he had read more of the ancient books treasured there, perhaps there wouldn’t be so many issues now.
Compared to the spacious first floor, the second floor seemed relatively small, but the ancient books stored here were basically rare solitary copies that no longer existed in the outside world, with many stone-carved ancient books from the ages of yore.
Of course, most of these were still ancient books about the Alchemy Tao, but there was also a considerable portion of unrelated ancient texts. Fang Lin was precisely looking to see if there was anything he wanted to know in these books.
No time to waste, Fang Lin immediately began his search. Given that he had read almost all the alchemy books here in his past life, he started directly with the books he hadn’t seen.
After flipping through several extremely tattered ancient books, Fang Lin didn’t find any records concerning Mountain Tu, but he did see some information about Mo Shouhe.
Fang Lin put down a book missing several pages, his brow slightly furrowed.
"Once came to the Pill Saint Palace seeking a Life and Death Reincarnation Pill?" Fang Lin thought to himself, somewhat taken aback.
According to the ancient book in his hand, Mo Shouhe had come to the Pill Saint Palace over five thousand years ago, wanting them to refine an Aging Reversing Pill for him.
However, the Pill Saint Palace ultimately couldn’t fulfill Mo Shouhe’s request, and the matter was left unresolved.
"The Aging Reversing Pill is a Transcendental Elixir that doesn’t exist in the world, similar to the Life and Death Reincarnation Pill I once crafted. The Pill Saint Palace didn’t even have a Pill Sovereign in the past, how could they possibly refine it? Even combining everyone’s strength wouldn’t succeed unless sacrificing the lives of most Pill Refiners in the Pill Saint Palace," Fang Lin thought to himself.
Fang Lin speculated that Mo Shouhe sought the Aging Reversing Pill likely because he was running out of life force and wanted to rejuvenate himself with it.
The lifespan of a Martial Lord is nearly infinite, but eventually, life will expire. Mo Shouhe had achieved the Martial Lord status so long ago, that no one knew when he attained it, making it difficult to calculate.
The only inference was that Mo Shouhe, perhaps in the ancient dawn when powers had not yet arisen and the Pill Saint Palace was just beginning, was already a revered Martial Lord, overlooking all creatures with cold detachment watching time pass by.
The ancient records noted that Mo Shouhe had only visited the Pill Saint Palace once, and after that, there was almost no interaction between them.
Although Fang Lin learned a bit about the history between the Pill Saint Palace and Mo Shouhe, he still didn’t see what he wanted to know, especially the enigmatic Mountain Tu, which stirred Fang Lin’s curiosity.
In the later age, no one knew about Mountain Tu, that was expected due to the passage of time and secrets fading away.
But if in this era, there wasn’t a single record of Mountain Tu, Fang Lin found it hard to believe. Even if extremely rare, there should still be a trace, however small, of records.
Moreover, Fang Lin couldn’t stay here too long and had to leave within a certain time, or else he would be discovered, and then he wouldn’t be able to explain himself even with eight mouths.
Perseverance finally paid off, Fang Lin eventually discovered some records concerning Mountain Tu on the back of a stone-carved ancient book. View the correct content at f.reewebn.ovel.co\m
The content recorded on this stone was also profoundly moving to Fang Lin.
The origin of the stone was essentially untraceable, already covered in cracks, it seemed that even a slight exertion would completely shatter it.
Fang Lin held it very cautiously in his hands, fearing to destroy it. Once destroyed, the array would react and he would have no chance of escaping.
The writings on the stone weren’t extensive but revealed extremely important secrets.
"The origin of all things, indeed at one time, Mountain Tu stood between heaven and earth. However, later with the advent of holy spirits on earth, Mountain Tu vanished, never to be seen again," Fang Lin’s eyes narrowed, according to the stone’s account, in the distant primeval times, Mountain Tu did exist, but with the emergence of living beings on the land, Mountain Tu inexplicably ceased to exist.
"The First Demon Saint?" Fang Lin’s pupils shrank on seeing key words on the stone, despite the blurriness and roughness of the writing which wasn’t from this era, Fang Lin still recognized them.
"The First Demon Saint possibly originated from Mountain Tu?" Fang Lin was astonished, not expecting such an extraordinary record on the stone.
Fang Lin immediately recalled a dream-like experience back in the ancient cave of ten thousand mountains where he viewed the vast ages before antiquity when the Human Clan was but weak ants on a land covered by various ancient beasts, a seemingly unremarkable Stone Demon rose fiercely, suppressing all primordials across the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths with a matchless posture, even the pinnacle ancient beasts like the True Dragon and Divine Phoenix bowed in submission.
Fang Lin knew the Stone Demon to be the First Demon Saint but never expected it to hail from Mountain Tu.
Continuing downward, there was little left on the stone, but it still contained some huge, unspoken secrets.
Fang Lin read all the content on the stone, his expression exceedingly solemn, carefully placing the stone back to its original position, overwhelmed by the shock.
"The First Demon Saint and Mo Shouhe both suspected to be Ancient Spirit Incarnations?" Fang Lin thought to himself.
What Fang Lin observed on the stone deeply astonished him, particularly the secret of Ancient Spirit Incarnations, which overturned many of Fang Lin’s previous hypotheses.
The First Demon Saint and Mo Shouhe both suspected to be Ancient Spirit Incarnations, which would imply a close connection between the two. Perhaps to a large extent, the First Demon Saint and Mo Shouhe were essentially one entity?
"Crap!"
Fang Lin’s expression suddenly changed drastically. Amidst shock, he found himself inadvertently muttering Mo Shouhe’s name multiple times in his mind. fr\eewebno vel .c(o)m
