Chapter 136 : The birth of a Genesis
Chapter 136: Chapter 136 : The birth of a Genesis
Alex groaned as he sat up, his bare chest rising and falling with each breath.
He pushed himself upright slowly, breathing heavily, sweat clinging to his skin like a second layer.
Then, he noticed it.
Etched onto the back of his hand—a glowing symbol pulsed softly, blue and alive. It resembled a majestic tree, ancient in its design but surreal.
Its branches didn’t bear leaves... they bore stars. Miniature constellations sparkled along the twisting limbs, as if the universe itself lived in his skin.
’What... is this power...?’
He stared in awe. Everything felt different. His muscles didn’t ache. His breathing felt smoother. His thoughts clearer. It was like being reborn—no, like being unbound.
’It’s like... all my limitations have been erased.’
But the symbol—that symbol—was what unsettled him most. It throbbed with an energy that felt... Unreal.
"What the hell... what did I just awaken?"
Panic mixed with curiosity as he shouted into the air, "Useless! You’re there, right? Tell me what the hell this is!"
No reply.
’...Don’t tell me he lost the ability to speak. Or worse—became completely useless!’
Just as Alex clenched his fists, a familiar sarcastic voice rang out in his mind.
["You bastard of a host, I was just exploring all the new abilities you’ve gained."]
Alex blinked. "Use— I mean, you’re still there! I thought you left. I was this close to writing a tragic poem about loneliness and betrayal!"
["I know, I know. Don’t try to flatter me."]
He chuckled, running a hand through his messy hair. "You’re impossible."
Then, a strange discomfort pulled his attention downward.
’Why the hell... is my underwear suddenly tighter than usual? The size was perfect before...’
He paused, slowly coming to a realization.
’Wait a second... did I just get taller?’
["Yes, Host. You have become taller. Along with several... other changes."]
His eyes widened. He stretched the waistband of his underwear and peeked inside—
And then began giggling like an idiot.
"Hehehe... Looks like my Excalibur has become taller... and sharper than before too!"
["It was already monstrous... Did it evolve too?"]
"Yeah, you’re righ— It was already monstr—"
He froze mid-sentence. A cold shiver ran down his spine.
"...Wait a damn second."
"You... how do you know that?"
There was an awkward pause.
["...Oops."]
"...Oops?"
["You don’t need to know that."]
Alex’s face darkened.
"You... You peeked at me when I was bathing, didn’t you?!"
No reply.
"You bastard!" he exploded. "You were already useless, but now you’re a perverted bastard too!"
He leapt off the ground and paced the room, waving his arms wildly.
"How dare you peek at my glorious figure while I was bathing?! If you had a body, I’d have made you sign a mana contract to pay me a trillion credits a month—for the rest of your lifetime—for violating my privacy!"
["Come on, it was just one time! And you do realize I live inside you, right?"]
"Perverted bastard! Someday, I swear, I’ll make you pay for this. Don’t you know what privacy means?"
["...Sorry."]
Then, the system added slyly—
["But I am really worried about your future mate, Host. How will she even handle the devil you’re hiding inside your pants?"]
Alex’s cheeks flared red. "SHUT THE HELL UP before I snap!"
["Okay, okay! I was just stating facts."]
He let out a long sigh, pressing a palm to his face.
"...Alright, enough. I’ll let it go. For now."
His eyes drifted back to the glowing mark on his hand.
"So... what is this mark?"
["It’s called the Mark of the Genesis."]
"...Mark of the Genesis, huh?" Alex smirked. "Okay, the name’s super cool. What does it do?"
There was a sigh in his mind.
["To know that, you must first find out the bloodline and physique you’ve awakened."]
Alex frowned. "Okay... but why do you sound so confused? Like you just saw something you couldn’t even imagine?"
Suddenly, the system’s tone turned grave.
["Host... tell me the truth. What the hell are you? Or who the hell are you?"]
["Are you a god? A celestial? Something... unknown? Just tell me if you have even the slightest clue."]
"...What are you talking about? You’ve been with me since I came into this world, haven’t you?"
["That’s the problem. I’ve been with you since the beginning, but I still don’t know a damn thing about you."]
Alex narrowed his eyes. "Okay, enough. What the hell are you even rambling about?"
"You’re acting like you’ve seen a ghost."
["Because I did, Host."]
"...Get to the point," Alex said firmly. "What did I just awaken? Stop talking in riddles."
There was a brief silence.
Then—
["Alright. It’ll be easier to show you."]
A translucent window shimmered into existence before Alex, glowing faintly in the dim light of the sealed training chamber. The floating letters pulsed with energy, each line humming like it carried the voice of the cosmos itself.

You are an anomaly in the cosmic order—unclaimed, unchained, and unchallenged.
Effect: No god, divine law, or fate can exert dominion over you. Any attempts to enslave, bind, or control you via divine contracts, prophecies, or soul seals automatically fail.

Physique: Primordial Genesis of Creation and Destruction
Status: Partially Awakened
Curse 1 of 3: Broken

Your physique evolves constantly in response to threats, environments, and energies. It does not grant static power—it grants dynamic survival. Whether poisoned, burned, cursed, or thrown into space, your body adapts not only to endure but to counter.
2. Perfect Cellular Reconstruction
Muscles, bones, and organs rebuild stronger each time. Any severed limb will regenerate—better than before.
3. Cosmic Muscle Density (Locked)

As Alex read through the window, his breath hitched. Sweat rolled down his temple.
’This... this is unreal.’
The color drained from his face.
"System... are you sure you haven’t been bugged?" he asked, voice cracking slightly.
"Because I swear, you need some serious maintenance. If you’re messing with me right now, I’ll never trust you again."
["I swear, Host. Everything you’re seeing is the truth."]
Alex stared blankly at the text.
’What... the hell am I? This is beyond my wildest dreams.’
Then, a sound cracked the silence—his own laughter.
He started laughing. Quiet at first. Then louder. Then maniacal.
"HAHAHA! Looks like I’ve become a real badass!"
["Don’t flatter yourself, Host. As you can see, most of the overpowered abilities are locked. So come down from your high horse."]
Alex squinted at the window again, noticing the grayed-out abilities he’d glossed over in his excitement.
"Tch... You just had to ruin the fun, didn’t you, you useless system."
Still, he smirked.
"...But still, not bad. The powers I’ve unlocked already... there’s only one word for them—’Broken.’"
’This adaptation ability... if I train it properly, it might help me even against the bastards who cursed me.’
["You’re absolutely right, Host. You might finally stand a chance against your siscon friend."]
Alex grinned.
"You’re right about that. But... there’s one slight problem."
He folded his arms and leaned back against the wall.
"Ethan’s getting support from two of the most powerful gods in the universe."
"I’m sure Tiamat—prideful as ever—won’t let Ethan lose. He’ll probably pull him into his realm and personally train him for years... all within the span of a few days here."
He scoffed.
"And Solara? She’ll teach him how to wield divinity, rebirth."
He sighed.
"While I’m alone... he has the gods backing him."
His voice lowered as he looked away.
"...But that’s fine."
Alex smiled faintly.
"Struggling alone is nothing new. Whether in this world or my previous one."
His gaze returned to the status window. His eyes gleamed with a dangerous glint.
’Whatever the hell I am... I know one thing for sure now.’
He clenched his fists.
"I finally have the one weapon I needed more than anything in this world."
Suddenly, the system’s voice interrupted his thoughts.
["That’s not all, Host. Did you already forget about the mark on your hand?"]
Alex blinked.
"...Wait... there’s more?"
