Chapter 58: Chapter 58 Twisted City, Chu Yi’s Family
In the dust-laden desert, a centipede the size of a mountain ridge sprawled across the road. Encased in a reddish-brown carapace that reflected a cold metallic sheen, its thousand limbs were as thick as stalactites. Its sharp mandibles were currently gnawing on a gigantic Demon Spider, making crude chewing noises. This was the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King, a Commander-level Demon. It was fierce and savage, fond of dismembering its enemies, and its venom was potent. It reigned as an Overlord in the Bloody Wilderness.
Not far away, a blonde beauty in a tight-fitting suit was smoothing out her large, wavy curls, which had been disheveled by the sand. She complained, "That stinky centipede’s senses are really sharp. Its strength has increased a lot too; we almost got discovered."
Jiang Qiuyun nodded, put down the detector, and began uploading data. This kind of reconnaissance mission paid very well. The mission was considered complete as long as they detected the target’s strength at close range, preferably recorded a combat video, and updated data such as its strength, range, and pollution level.
The military had considered dispatching troops to kill this Commander-level Demon, but the cost was too high. If it couldn’t win, it could simply drill into the earth to escape. What if it held a grudge and repeatedly attacked military logistics? The key issue was that this Commander-level being emitted high levels of radiation and pollution, and there were no valuable resources nearby. Even if they killed it, a new Demon would likely rise to take its place, making the effort worthless.
"Alright, we’re leaving now," Jiang Qiuyun said, rubbing her temples. Somehow, she felt a strange yearning to see Chu Yi. She must be going crazy.
"Qiuyun, you’ve worked too hard. I’ve decided to give you a reward," Catherine cooed, leaning closer. She pointed to her own delicate cheek, her eyes misty, and said playfully, "While your little boyfriend isn’t here, give me a kiss~"
Jiang Qiuyun hesitated for a moment, just about to give her a peck.
Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. The two women exchanged a glance and quickly looked towards their observation target.
At that moment, the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King dropped a juicy bite of food. It looked up at the starry sky as if beholding a deity. Its six human-head-sized eyes, which had been radiating a strange red light, turned a lifeless gray, dim and dull. At its center, a fleshy tumor slowly pulsed, then burst, spewing dark green pus and revealing a bulging Demon Eye. Its gaze swept over the area, locking onto the two women nearby.
"A Brain Worm?" Jiang Qiuyun was stunned. She immediately summoned her Dragon Condor and pulled Catherine up onto its back.
"CHIRP CHIRP? (Where’s that darn man? Boohoo, I want a snack.)" The Dragon Condor was about to ask for a Spirit Core when it noticed the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King chasing after them. Its two talons moved quickly, wings flapping up and down. It resembled an Earth Worm playing basketball as it ran to build momentum for takeoff.
BOOM—
A beam of crimson Destruction grazed past the Dragon Condor’s wing and exploded against a stone cliff, illuminating the night sky and sending a gigantic mushroom cloud rising into the air.
Dragon Condor: (ΩДΩ)
"Leave the defense to me," Catherine said with a snap of her fingers. A wave of scorching fire enveloped her curvaceous body. In an instant, she was clad in bright red armor, and a peony motif alighted on her shapely shoulder. The peony petals slowly blossomed, revealing a humanoid fiery form—a High War General, the Fiery Fire Elf.
Brilliant fireworks trailed dazzling paths through the air, intercepting the long-range attacks of the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King. Coupled with the Dragon Condor’s evasive maneuvers, they finally escaped its attack range. The two women and the condor breathed a collective sigh of relief.
"A Brain Worm? Why is the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King being controlled by a Brain Worm?" Jiang Qiuyun was puzzled and reported the matter.
However, "Qiuyun... Qiuyun... look at this!" Catherine’s pupils shrank. She stared incredulously at the scene unfolding before them and called out to her friend.
Jiang Qiuyun turned her head. Her beautiful eyes widened with astonishment. This... how could this be...
They watched as the Purple Gold Centipede Claw King stood upright and slowly tilted. The sky above erupted with a golden halo, dazzling and splendid, showering down a snowfall that resembled doomsday dusk, like a divine blessing. Its hard carapace was stained by Muddy Light, transforming into something like a Golden Road welcoming a formidable presence. Around it, a circle of black-robed figures knelt in obeisance. A blurred silhouette stood at the end of the Golden Road, holding a Golden War Axe aloft and chanting a prayer.
Golden Monarch, Grek!
"Ah, this..." The two women suddenly felt a surge of pollution wash over them. They quickly unleashed their Spiritual energy and injected a special antidote. This was a grand operation launched by the Life Sect!
"Quick, we need to go get Chu Yi!"
「In a corner of the ruins.」
Chu Yi made a grasping motion in the void. A large amount of Fire Element gathered, instantly enveloping a golden longsword and radiating intense heat.
"Burn!" He breathed heavily. His skin was flushed, and steam swirled around him as his vital energy and blood surged through his limbs and bones, filling his body with limitless strength.
[Frenzy]!
The next moment, his sword light flashed, tracing an exquisite arc in the air. Several demonic figures in midair stiffened as they were sliced in half. Black crystals spread over their wounds, and their bodies flew backward into a group of demons, then immediately exploded!
Ink Fire Explosion!
BOOM—
Brilliant flames erupted among the demon horde, blooming like dazzling fireworks!

The notifications flew by.
A grim smile touched Chu Yi’s lips. Excited, he was uncontrollably excited! Indeed, this refuse site was teeming with demons. The Beast Tamer assigned to clear them had long since been killed. The unexpected surprise was that, aside from the Three-Eyed Demon Wolf, a variety of other bizarre demons had also arrived, seemingly to offer themselves up for slaughter. How could Chu Yi not be ’touched’ by their generosity? Family!
"YIP!" Master, Master, look at me!
Bika roared lowly. Its three tails soared like dragons breaking through the sky, wreathed in burning flames. With an even higher-pitched cry from Bika, its tails began to sweep wildly, flames billowing like wolf smoke, blasting demons to pieces!
Chu Yi simply leaped onto its back. He raised both hands, and two golden longswords ignited with fierce flames! Have to say, the legacy left by that Grafted Noble was truly excellent; the equipment was exceptionally refined. Thank you, family.
"Glory... Golden Homeland..."
The horde of demons, far from showing fear, became even more ferocious. Rustling sounds wafted from the city’s corners, carrying whispers from the Abyss. Human-headed Demon Spiders, Ghost-faced Centipedes, Mad Wild Dogs... they formed a bloody tide, intent on delivering despair to this audacious intruder.
"Humph!" Chu Yi snorted lightly. His inky eyes revealed a gorgeous nebula as he activated [Ready for Slaughter]. The swarming demons suddenly froze. They fell into chaos and began to kill each other.
Meanwhile, Bika raised its fox tails and stomped fiercely. Its body shot out like a cannonball, transforming into a Crimson Shadow and trailing a path of fire. Through the spiritual communication of the Sun and Moon Mark, master and pet cooperated seamlessly.
He swung the swords in his hands. Arcing lights flashed, weaving a storm of death as he wantonly reaped lives, unleashing a massacre among the chaotic demons. It was like a mowing game! As the mowed-down horde paused in confusion, heads, limbs, and bodies flew through the air, all stained with a layer of inky crystals!
As the slaughter neared its end, three sneaky Big Mouth Bats lunged from the shadows, only for Chu Yi to cleave them in half with a single sword strike, their bodies burning continuously. Then, a new wave of demons, like beasts breaking free from their cages, pounced.
"Explosions are an art form," Chu Yi mused, squinting, then snapped his fingers.
The trail of inky crystals he had left behind sparked, followed by a series of violent explosions!
