Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Twist, Twist, and More Twist
"Qiuyun, are you... are you really treating him as a boyfriend?"
Catherine looked shocked, her crimson eyes frozen in disbelief. "He’s just a kid! You can’t even let a kid who hasn’t graduated go, that’s too much!"
"By the way, he just turned eighteen a few days ago... Oh, so you’ve been plotting for a long time! You crave his young, tender body, you lowlife!"
Jiang Qiuyun clenched her fists, resisting the urge to punch her friend in the face, and coldly snorted, "It’s just a sibling relationship, not what you think."
Catherine nodded. "Ah, a sibling romance, I get it."
Then, the blonde beauty clutched her chest, looking heartbroken. "By the way, did anything happen between you two last night? Surely not, surely not, surely no one would actually get involved with a kid, right?"
"WAH! You’re dirty! You promised to be with me, but you broke our promise! We’re done! Absolutely done!"
"MPH! MPH!"
A slender finger pressed against her red lips. Catherine’s beautiful eyes widened as she struggled mightily.
"Behave."
Jiang Qiuyun couldn’t take it anymore. She was truly exasperated by her friend’s constant dirty jokes and said seriously, "He’s very dangerous. I’m here to supervise him."
The Scumbag Female Knight had mixed feelings. Trapped in Chu Yi’s Hypnosis Evil Fall brainwashing, she had ended up mistaking a scoundrel for her father, conjuring a dad out of thin air, and had been thoroughly taken advantage of, leaving her fists clenched in anger. Even though her biological dad abandoned her, she inexplicably got another dad and ended up calling him ’Dad’ the whole day. This made Jiang Qiuyun not only feel no fatherly love but rather a deep sense of shame, wishing to escape the Federation... to flee the planet! Moreover, with his cunning, he had certainly recorded her embarrassing behavior. That was the reason Jiang Qiuyun hadn’t reported it right away. With him holding such leverage over her, it was just like those hypnosis storylines, forcing the heroine to comply, achieving his evil goal, gradually descending into depravity. Originally, she was going to have a private negotiation with him. But then the Federation Military came to the door, obviously recognizing Chu Yi’s strength. After evaluating and testing his Pet Beast, he had already cleared his name! Outwardly, he was a rising star, a Beast Taming genius relying on Pet Beast Mutated Evolution, favored by Lady Luck. Internally, he was Jiang Qiuyun’s boyfriend—flawless from any angle. Meanwhile, inside the Beast Taming Space, the little sculpture thought this ’dog man’ was pretty good; he never defaulted on wages and provided free snacks.
"Dangerous?" Catherine recalled his handsome and elegant looks. A Red Copper Beast Tamer, how could he be dangerous?
"But, if he’s your boyfriend, he’s certainly in for some trouble," Catherine covered her mouth and laughed.
Jiang Qiuyun remained silent.
Suddenly, her beautiful eyes froze. He’s been gone so long, why hasn’t he come out yet? Did he run away?
「...」
"Ji Wu? The Master of the Magma Elf?" Chu Yi was surprised.
Even though he had a thorough understanding of the Beast Taming Realm, he was still not quite used to this behavior of stealing others’ Pet Beasts. Robbing someone of their Pet Beast was like killing their parents. Even if done through monetary transactions, it was a form of plundering.
"Hm, mighty God Master, your devout servant has brought you the information you wanted."
Ian paused and said, "The Life Sect collects body parts to form an Ancient Array with five Flesh Eggs, to summon the God of Flesh and Blood, God Eater, Master of Devouring, Star Ripper, King of the Brass Cage..."
Chu Yi’s mouth twitched.
The evil god worshiped by the Life Sect had an especially long list of titles, boasting more prestige than the Master of Gray Mist. Feeding on the gods and the stars, the day it descended would be a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, a feast of mud, dung, and carrion. There would be no living or dead; the world would become entirely composed of cancerous flesh, where all creatures existed in parasitic relationships—in short, the Age of Cancer.
"With the Master’s wisdom, the fifth egg was shattered, preventing its descent."
"But it’s not over. The Golden Monarch, endowed with Divine Power, deliberately lured the Federation to the Bloody Wilderness. If nothing unexpected happens, this place will become a blood feast celebrating Adabos’s arrival—the first hearty meal."
"Yaoguang City only has two Dawn Star-level Beast Tamers stationed there; they’re completely incapable of stopping this!"
Speaking of this, Ian’s eyes were fervent. "Master, you must have seen through them early! In this chaotic situation, you are plotting to gain greater advantages, laying the groundwork for the Gray Mist’s arrival!"
"Mm." Chu Yi played with a cluster of gray-white mist in his left hand and said coldly, "What arrangements does the Golden Monarch have?"
Ian became even more respectful.
"Currently, Golden Monarch Grek shows no movement, but the Federation Military plans to dispatch elite forces to target Grek, implementing a decapitation strategy to thoroughly eliminate the Life Sect."
"If my Lord requires, you can summon us midway to fight for the Gray Mist!"
Chu Yi nodded.
With the great battle approaching, he could seize the opportunity to hunt War General-level Demons and gain a large number of evolution points. The Federation Military and the Gray Mist Sect would both become his pawns, free labor.
「...」
The bottom of the cavern appeared to be another world.
At the center of the circle, a large vertical pupil opened, filled with flourishing patterns sketched with bloodlines that extended outward, connecting with various sacrifices.
On the outer circle, on a throne cast in bone and gold, sat an elder with white hair and a Golden Crown. His dim eyes were entirely cloudy, and his tattered regal robe covered his twisted body. Beside him lay a brilliantly shining Golden War Axe.
The robe fluttered slightly, and dozens of stitched-together limbs wriggled in unison, a terrifying and hair-raising sight.
"Ian... what did he say?" Grek’s throat emitted a hoarse voice, carrying immense destructive power.
"Hm." A middle-aged man in a gray-white robe said indifferently, "He agreed."
This man was Ian, a Golden Bishop of the Gray Mist Sect, the one who had conversed with Chu Yi.
When Chu Yi released the Power of the Demon God for the second time, a ripple spread throughout the Bloody Wilderness. Bishop Ian, far away, detected it and instantly discerned the Master of Gray Mist’s arrival, now embodied yet constrained within the young vessel. Thus, he had sought out Grek.
"The Master is trapped in the vessel. I must trouble you to make a move," Ian said lightly.
With Chu Yi present in the Federation Military camp, Ian, being Gold-level, would be instantly detected if his Golden Power got close. He’d be like a giant lightbulb in the dark, easily spotted.
"COUGH, COUGH..." Grek coughed up a mouthful of blood, his expression twisted. "Don’t forget what your Gray Mist Sect promised."
Ian nodded.
Because this task was issued by the Master, he hadn’t informed the other Bishops, intending to claim all the credit himself.
