Chapter 486: Chapter 486: The Ruthless Woman (6)_1
Lu Hai hadn’t expected that Mo Heng... had silently done so much. She looked towards Pei Qin, now, Pei Qin would have to consider marrying Mo Heng, right?
The color drained from Pei Qin’s face, changing several times. She didn’t speak, feeling indescribably complex inside.
"Our young master is sick! He fell ill right after you left!" Feng Wei said coldly, glaring at her with angry eyes.
Upon hearing of Mo Heng’s illness, Pei Qin hurried back, "What illness?"
Feng Wei kept silent. Lovesickness! Madness! For such a cruel and heartless woman, the young master was... seriously ill!
Pei Qin hastened inside and saw Mo Heng slumped over the desk, catching his breath and looking frighteningly pale, "Mo Heng!?"
Mo Heng quickly turned his head, seeing her return, withdrew his arm from the desk, and sat up straight. His voice was hoarse as he spoke, "I won’t force you."
Pei Qin looked at him.
Mo Heng’s eyes were slightly, imperceptibly moist and red. Lowering his gaze as she stared at him, he said, "I thought that since we had consummated our marriage, you would marry me."
Pei Qin laughed bitterly at herself, "I never thought that I would be the kind of person who turns her back on others after pulling up her pants."
"I’ve schemed enough, I won’t force you anymore. You can go!" Mo Heng turned his face away, refusing to look at her again.
Pei Qin remained silent.
Feng Wei, standing at the entrance to the courtyard, watched from a distance. Seeing that she still hadn’t agreed by now, his face turned dark with a purple tinge.
"Thank you! I remember the favor I owe you. When the time comes that you need me to risk my life for you, just say the word, and I won’t hesitate," Pei Qin said.
Mo Heng pressed his lips together firmly.
"Also, I owe you an apology," Pei Qin finished her thanks and then apologized. She did owe Mo Heng a word of thanks and an apology.
Mo Heng never needed her thanks or her apology. What he wanted had always been her, only her!
Listening to the sound of her footsteps as she left again, he didn’t remember any of the words she had used to try to console him. All that remained was her continued heartless rejection. Clenching his hands tightly, the wound quickly tore open, blood flowed out, soaking the gauze wrapping.
Feng Wei’s sword was already drawn from its sheath. In that moment, he suddenly hated her intensely. The young master was a favored son of heaven, desired by many women—yet she alone dared to hurt him so, treating him as if he were nothing. Feng Wei wished he could kill her on the spot, so she could never hurt the young master again.
Pei Qin walked silently down the road, continuing past the city gates and onto the road leading back to the town, without taking any transport.
Lu Hai followed behind her silently.
When they had covered almost half of the journey, Lu Hai caught up to her, "You’re still pregnant!"
Pei Qin paused, lifting her vacant eyes to her.
Lu Hai’s breath caught, "... Pei Qin?" She had never seen her look so lost and disoriented, as if she had lost her way in life entirely.
"Mmm..." Pei Qin responded, her eyes still void of life.
Lu Hai pursed her lips, then said, "Marry him! If you find it troublesome, since he’s been expelled from his family and is all alone, let him join yours. Think of it as having an extra person to do chores around the house."
Could it really... be thought of like that? Was it that simple?
For the first time in her life, Pei Qin felt such intense confusion. Just the thought of Mo Heng’s eyes, filled with dark despair, felt like a chokehold on her heartbeat.
Seeing her continue to walk ahead, aiming towards home but in reality wandering aimlessly, Lu Hai stopped her. They stood by the roadside, waiting for a passing donkey cart. Lu Hai paid the fare, taking them back to the town.
Several Little Radishes at home were very concerned about Mo Heng’s hand. He had saved their elder sister before and made their elder sister agree to marry him. He shamelessly had her take the tonic as Contraceptive Soup and ended up impregnating her. If his hand ended up useless from saving their elder sister, they were sure he would make another demand.
