Chapter 33: Complaints.

’ I am going to f*ck you here and let everyone have a good show as you come all over my c*ck, got it?’

Bree banged her fist on the table feeling angrier than ever, she couldn’t understand how she could not get these words out of her head and what was more Ahmar’s face was looming all over in front of her eyes. It was so annoying that she wished she could bang her head on a wall and get partial amnesia or something, like why was she thinking about him and his dirty words when she should be listening to Dion and his report that he received from the secret guard that they have sent to the territory of Duke Cilantro.

Dion who was surprised by the sudden bang was stunned as he looked up from the report and looked at Bree who was nursing her forehead. " Your majesty are you alright? Should I get the royal doctor to check up on you?"

"It’s fine," said Bree as she waved her hand and refused. "It’s just a headache and nothing more, you don’t need to worry about it."

However, looking at her ugly expression that was similar to the one that of murdering someone, Dion was quite certain that whatever it was, it wasn’t just a simple case of headache. " Your majesty, if your headache is interfering with your work then I am afraid that you need to see the royal doctor."

Bree’s eyes flashed as she looked at Dion and sniggered. " I am afraid that the royal doctor might not be able to do anything in this case, you might as well call an assassin since I have four headaches that I need to take care of!"

Dion sighed as he stared at his queen’s twisted face and the change of her clothes—— with just one glance he was able to find out that something must have happened with the second consort. Even though he wasn’t there he did hear from the maids working in the palace that the Queen got upset with the second consort and threw him to the black tower where only traitors and ministers who have betrayed the Queen were punished.

" Your majesty please cease your anger," said Dion as he placed the report on the table and looked at her sincerely. " Because of your lack of attention towards the consorts, the ministers have gotten a bit unruly——-"

However just as he was about to tell Bree, just how the ministers have gotten unruly, there was a knock at the door and Bree’s attention was diverted. Frowning, she looked at the magical clock that showed that it was still an hour earlier for the lunch break and looked at Dion, " Where are the guards who should be announcing the arrival of whoever knocks on the door? There is still an hour left before either of them can leave their posts."

Dion frowned as he strode towards the door after crossing the room while saying, " For the guards to not announce the arrival of someone, it’s either they have dropped their posts or maybe the person is someone of great importance and command them to stop them from announcing their arrival."

And as he opened the door, Bree was able to see just why the guards did not announce the arrival of the certain someone who was standing on the other side of the door.

" Close the door, Dion, quick!" said Bree and Dion though startled went to do exactly what she asked him to do but before he could do that Yakov who was standing outside the room slipped in with a professional smile set on his face. " It hurts my heart to see that my wife is so upset with me that she isn’t even willing to see me."

" And yet despite knowing that, here you are sneaking inside my office as you please," said Bree sullenly as she felt her headache get even worse. She wasn’t willing to deal with him at the moment, damn it! Just dealing with Ahmar was enough to make her feel that her head was going to explode and yet she has not even recovered from all the damage that she received from Ahmar yet Yakov was here to test her patience. " I don’t know why you are here, but please leave... I am not in the mood to entertain you or anyone as you can see, Sir Sceptre."

" I am afraid that even if you are not willing to see me, you have to hear what I have to say, your majesty. Because at this moment, I am not here as your mate or consort but as your Chancellor, you cannot turn me away."

Bree raised her head and looked at the documents that Yakov was holding and felt the throbbing in her head get even worse. Just what was this? Whose face did she see after waking up?

" Go ahead," even though she would have liked to turn Yakov away, Bree knew she couldn’t. Because ’never mix personal feelings with the business’ was her motto, this was something that she learned from her dad, even though she was going through a hard time, she will never do something that will bring harm to her working place.

And now that she was a Queen, she had to apply the same motto without any special exceptions.

The development of this Empire depended on her there was no way she could turn a blind eye to it. So, even if she wasn’t willing to share her space with Yakov, she still gave him permission.

Yakov bowed his head before he flipped the documents that he was carrying and gave half of them to Bree before speaking, " Duke Cilantro has imposed a ban on the export of other territories, apparently he is only allowing the people of his own territory to sell their goods at a high price to the other Empires but the rest of the territories are being devoid of this service, apparently he has given in the excuse that he needs time to renew the tax prices that have been settled earlier on this year." Yakov then turned his page and asked Bree to do so as well, " The Counts and Dukes of the other territories are quite upset with this, they are filing complaints in the royal memorandum."
