Duke Cilantro was dreaming about the wonderful future that he was going to have after this ball was over. He was so confident of winning this entire thing that he even giggled while dreaming about sitting in the throne room, in his dream his pompous self was sitting in the seat of an important minister with jewels and women surrounding him, he was holding on a goblet of wine and on top of the throne sat Prince Leon who was praising him for all the good deeds that he has done in enthroning him as the emperor of this world.

He was just getting to the most wonderful part when he was suddenly woken up by someone splashing water on his face, Duke Cilantro has never been awoken like this before, he was startled and then jumped to sit up with his eyes closed. With the water dripping on his face, he had a hard time opening them but then he blinked his eyes and finally the bright ballroom came into view and together with the ballroom came the sight of the Queen sitting on a big chair with her consorts standing next to her.

The Queen has her elbow on the armrest of the chair together with her chin leaning on the knuckles of her hand, she was looking at with a sort of sadistic enthusiasm and that made Duke Cilantro stiffen. He hurriedly blinked his eyes and then tried to raise his hand to wipe the daze out of his eyes but then he realised that he couldn’t raise his hand at all, in fact, his hands seemed to be tied!

" What——?" He opened his mouth to speak but before he could say anything the Queen smiled at him before parting her lips. " Don’t try to bother yourself, your hands been tied by my knights. You cannot move your hands, Duke, since you are under arrest for going against the Queen of the Dragniere empire."

The remaining daze that the Duke had immediately came tumbling down and he blinked his eyes before all the blood drained out from his face he looked left and right, his subordinates were on the floor kneeling with shackles bound to their limbs. They all were looking down at the floor while some were trying to move away from the knights who were holding them down. His irises quivered as he looked at the sight in front of him, he didn’t understand how in this world was happening, the Queen has been thoroughly drugged, and everything that she was eating and drinking was being adulterated with the drugs that he has worked so hard to buy.

Why was the Queen imprisoning them like this?

" Are you confused?" Bree asked with a tilt of her head as her lips curled into a satisfied smile, she has been waiting for this day ever since the Duke has been looking down at her like she was not worth a damn and what was even more amazing was that the man even looked down on her consorts thinking that they were nothing more than boy toys, sitting in high position because they knew how to satisfy the Queen in bed.

He underestimated her, that was one mistake but when he underestimated her consorts who could have overthrown her if they wanted to —— it wasn’t a mistake it was a blunder.

" My...My Queen, what ..what is going on? Why have you tied me like this?" The Duke asked even though he had an answer in his heart he still asked the queen, even though he knew that his plan has gone haywire, he still wanted to know where and how.

" Do you really not, my dear Duke?" Bree asked back as she rolled the sleeves of her dress and then placed both her elbows on the armrest before joining her fingers as she looked at the Duke overbearingly from where she was sitting. " I believe you of all peoples should have a very good idea about why you are here, should you not?"

Duke Cilantro clenched his fingers behind his back as he looked at the queen, of course, he had a very good idea about it but he didn’t think that someone like the queen will be able to catch him, how can she even find out about it? She ..a woman of all caught him?

" My...My queen, I think there is some sort of misunderstanding here, I think that you seem to have——"

" Bring him here," Bree didn’t let the Duke finish speaking instead she turned her attention to Yakov and ordered him.

Yakov acknowledged her order with a swift bow as he turned to look at the knight next to them and said, " Bring the leader of the rebel army."

Duke Cilantro’s face stiffened and if possible his complexion turned even more poor as he looked at the knight who was bringing the leader of the rebel army, the leader of the rebel army was none other than the knight whom he has kicked out and seeing the man walk over made Duke Cilantro shiver in fright.

He hurriedly turned his attention to the Queen and desperately said, " Your majesty, please do not believe in the words of this man, he is nothing but a liar. I swear on my life I have been nothing but loyal to you please don’t listen to his one-sided words and then take any decision that might impact your loyal fraction haphazardly."

" Why are you in such a hurry, Duke?" Bree questioned with a smile as she narrowed her eyes until they were dangerous slits with a glowing amber glow within them. " I haven’t even listened to what the man has yet to say, at least give that poor man a chance to put his side in front of me, there is no need to create such a fuss. If you are innocent then you will be allowed to leave in no time."

" But your majesty, this knight is someone who holds a grudge against me...he is young and ignorant, he does not deserve to stand in front of the queen. He is only being presumptuous and nothing else!"
