Yakov watched Blaise walk inside the prison and then closed his eyes, it was foolish of him to poke fun at Blaise but among the other consorts Blaise was the one who got to him the most, Yakov knew that the past that the two shared was simply a mistake but the same couldn’t be said for Blaise for him, he was different and that man has still not forgiven him for what he did.

He shook his head and then walked inside the prison, right now wasn’t the time to get into trouble with Blaise. He needed to keep his head straight at the moment he couldn’t let this man mess with his mind like this, with that thought in his head, he sighed and then breathed out before walking next to Bree who was standing in front of the phoenix offsprings.

"Your majesty," he called when he saw that Bree was just standing there and not picking up the children while Blaise was rummaging in his small pouch that he carried with him everywhere he went. " What’s going on?"

" The injuries of these children are really bad," she replied, her golden eyes glowing with anger as she looked at him. Yakov could sense the anger that she was suppressing within her body and he didn’t blame her, the queen has become kinder ever since waking up on that particular day, if not she would have never agreed to save these kids who meant nothing to her. " I asked Blaise to heal them before we move them, if we move them when they are like this, then we will only aggravate their injuries, even more, I don’t want that to happen."

Yakov turned to look at Blaise, the man in question raised his head and glared at him hard but then when Bree turned to look at him, he smiled dazzling, like he wasn’t wishing to have him killed off or something like that. But then again, the two of them have been perfect in their facade even though they were entangled for life, they have never shown anyone that the two of them once had a relationship two of them.

" Here is the potion my queen," he said with a smile playing on his lips and pressed it in Bree’s hands, even though Blaise was indeed angry with Yakov and maybe he will never forget him for what he did but he cared for Bree more than he cared for a man who has harmed him and left him broken-hearted for so long.

Bree took the potion from Blaise, she could sense that something was wrong between the two but she didn’t ask, something about the air between the two was telling her that it was better for her to keep her curiosity to herself.

She took the potion and crouched down in front of the little boy who was lying on the floor but no sooner did she try to reach the boy, a whirl of red and gold plumage attacked her causing Bree to retract her hands.

" Your majesty!"

" Your majesty, are you okay?"

Both Yakov and Blaise simultaneously shouted as they looked at Bree who has saved her hand just in time. Then the two turned to look at the little girl with red hair with golden locks hidden between her red ones, they glared right back at her as she was doing with those feline amber eyes of hers as Blaise unfurled a blue flame in his hand while Yakov unsheathed his claws.

" What do you think you are doing to the Queen of this empire?" asked Yakov as he looked at the girl who was glaring and hissing at them, his wolf howled in rage egging Yakov to kill the child who dared to attack their mate.

" Do you wish to become a roasted chicken?"Blaise sneered on the other hand as his gaze dipped to the large bird-like feet in place of the human feet of the girl who was standing in front of Bree. " If so you should have said so, I would have turned you into a wonderful roasted chicken without you trying so hard!"

As the two of them raised their hands to attack the girl, they were however stopped by Bree who raised her hands and pushed them back as soon as they reached forward to attack the girl. "It’s enough you two," she said as she pushed them back and glared at them. " You are going to scare her off with all that nasty talk of yours."

" But your majesty, she attacked you——"

" Your majesty, she seems to have gone rogue."

Both men tried to explain their actions but Bree simply glared at them and said, " Shut it."

The two pursed their lips and then indeed shut their mouths as they looked at each other and then glared before turning to look at the opposite walls.

Only then did she turn to look at the girl who was glaring at her and said, " Here, I am Brianna Dragniere, you might not know me——"

" I know you," the girl hissed as she protected her friends or brother behind her outstretched arms as she looked at Bree with severe distaste. " The tyrant ruler, one who couldn’t bother herself to care about creatures like us. It’s your fault that my tribe is being hunted like this!"

"Imprudent!" Yakov shouted, the little girl flinched but she didn’t look away from Bree’s gaze, she held her gaze as if determined to prove that she wasn’t scared of her or the two bulky men behind her, it would have worked rather well if not for her shivering like that.

Bree calmly smiled at the girl as she stopped Yakov from speaking and said, " I apologise for the lack of care, I seemed to have missed some rough edges while taking care of the empire. Anyway, I am not here to harm you." Upon hearing her words, the little girl only eyed her even more warily. " I am here to help you,"

She raised the bottle of potion in her hands and said, " You see this? This is a healing potion if you use this you can save your little friend."
