Chapter 191: A challenge he ought to take
" You seem to have gotten quite close to first consort, your majesty?" Blaise spoke as soon as Yakov jumped out of the balcony, he didn’t raise his voice nor did he say anything upsetting but he did raise his hand to take out a handkerchief from his pockets before wiping the spot where Yakov has kissed her neck. " I am hurt, your majesty, you seem to have forgotten that I was your favourite."
Blaise hadn’t been wrong in saying so, he was indeed Bree’s favourite in the book but that was because he was just as unattractive to Bree as she was to him. He was laced with raw masculinity while topped with sheer charisma and to add to it was his compelling and loaded sexual energy but Bree knew that he was more than just a good time. He wasn’t as harmless as he made himself look and if she was being honest among the four, Blaise sort of terrified her the most.
His expressions were so tightly in control that Bree did not have even the slightest bit of idea as to what was going in his head, which was definitely not a good thing for her ’keeping a close rein on the four men.’
" I can sense that, your hurt feelings are dripping from that smile of yours," she replied with a deadpanned expression. It was a game that she hasn’t planned to play because one she was too scared to be judged, and two she was terrified of these men but if she wanted to live like a human then she has to play with these men.
She snuck a glance at the man behind her from the corner of her eyes and she wasn’t surprised to find that he was still looking at her. No, that was not the correct way to interpret what he was doing, he was eye f*cking her ... she has seen that gaze many times and she has lost all interest in men when they did that but not Blaise. Something about his silvery eyes locked on her body called to her in a way that made her heart slam against her ribs.
Bree felt a bit awkward, she flirted with Yakov because she knew that both of them were awful at that but not Blaise. If she was to make even the slightest bit of mistake with him then she might end up being f*cked by more than just his eyes. She wasn’t the type of girl who would bite her lips, twirl her hair or be prepared for a nightstand, she was too shy for that ...she was even scared of being judged that was why she hadn’t done anything like doing a one-night stand before.
But now she was alone with a man that she ought to get hold of, this was no longer a matter of just fun but survival. Maybe she should try eye f*cking him right back? For experimental purposes, of course, she could try and see whether or not she was up for it. But what if it resulted in being rolled around the sheets? What will she do then?
Blaise tilted his head as he swooped down without giving her a chance to say anything, one second she was looking at the red carpet and then the next second she was looking at his overly handsome face. " Why are you looking down your majesty? Let me guess, are you trying to see where you got hurt when you fell from heaven?"
Okay, so he knew how to dish out cheesy flirty lines as well.
She turned to look at him, she was too used to those flirty lines but she wasn’t used to the smooth silky voice that he just used at her. " I can assure you that if anything is hurting then it’s not because I fell from heaven but because I had a hard time hauling myself out of hell."
He chuckled before standing up straight and snapping his fingers, a second later a wine bottle along with two glasses appeared out of thin air. " What about a glass of wine, your majesty? A beautiful moon along with a beautiful woman should be appreciated with a glass of wine."
" I did not know that you had a hidden side to yourself."
Blaise’s smile widened as he winked at her. " That’s true, I always felt there was more to myself than that, what do you think can you bring out the man in me, your majesty?"
Bree rolled her eyes and then looked at him with a snort. " Are you always like this with everyone?"
" Of course not your majesty, I mean the second I saw you my heart stopped beating for a second, you have to know idea how fortunate I was to have a doctor nearby." He edged closer to her and his eyes dropped on her bow-shaped mouth which has gotten more enticing now that it didn’t frown at every shortest inconvenience possible. " You are the only one for me."
" Sure, Sure. I bet that you dished out that line to a lot of females when you met me." Bree turned to take a seat at the table before crossing her legs, drinking wine on an empty stomach was the worse decision among bad decisions but so was staying in the same room as a psychopath.
" That’s a shame, I think that I got no chance of taking you on a drive on that bed?"
" I don’t drink and drive."
This time Blaise laughed, not those ’I can’t give any less of a f*ck to you but I would still smile at you because that’s easier.’ No this time he laughed out like a hyena and patted his thighs as he shook his head. " My, why did I not know that you were so hard to serve before your majesty?" He would be lying if he didn’t find her interesting, she was no longer dull as she was before no, now she had a certain spark to her that made him smile.
She looked more like a challenge than she did before and Blaise couldn’t help but take it in his hands.
