" She is bringing that maid along with her?" Yakov was someone who liked things under his control, it would be wrong to say that he was a total control fanatic but at least he would like to know what was happening in the palace and why. But this time neither did he know about Harley being invited by the Queen to follow them to the territory of Duke Cilantro but he also didn’t know why she was bringing that woman with them. Was the Queen planning something and if she was then what did she have in her head? What was she thinking that he had no idea about?

" I heard it from the guard who is responsible for guarding the servants’ quarters, he said that one of the Queen’s knights came and announced that the Queen wanted Harley to tag along the latter wanted to oppose it but under the order of the Queen she had no choice but to agree with what the Queen ordered her to do." Even Aileen was surprised that the Queen was willing to bring Harley along with her, though he had no idea why the Queen was letting Harley off despite all the offences that she keeps on committing he knew that the Queen had no good feelings toward Harley, so her bringing that woman along was simply out of his understanding. " I did try to find out why the Queen suddenly made this sudden change out of nowhere but looks like no one knows about it, the Queen just woke up and chose to come up with the plan to do something like that."

" No, you are wrong, the Queen might be impulsive these days but even her impulsive actions have some meaning behind them," said Yakov as he closed the book he was reading and threw it on top of his luggage. " I believe that’s this time even though the Queen is being impulsive she has something serious going on in her head because she is a wise woman despite all her flaws. If she can find out about my plan and everything included in it then only fools will think that she is being impulsive right now," he tipped his chin at the books that read ’ Defence and offence—— a play on psychology,’ before adding, " Don’t be one of those fools, Aileen."

" Aren’t you guys being too much?" Bree stared at the heavy poofy dress that was twice heavy as her entire body weight and looked at the ladies in waiting. " You have to be kidding me, the first teleportation gate is three days drive from here and you want me to dress in something this heavy? What am I going to do if I have to protect myself?"

" But this is according to the decorum, your majesty," answered Lady Agard as she recited the rule six hundred and forty of the Empire’s rule book. " The Empress of the country needs to dress up majestically when going out as for protection, she will be protected by the knights in armour who swore loyalty to her."

" I appreciate the sentiments but no," if Lady Agard was stubborn then Bree was even more stubborn she was the one who has to suffer throughout the entire time there was no way she was going to wear something that puffed out and heavy. Ignoring the velvety red dress with the heavy emerald jewels and everything attached to it, Bree looked around the wardrobe and finally chose a simple white with golden and red embroidered Tudor gown with black skirt farthingale, this was the only thing that was simple enough for her to wear outside, even though the dress was nowhere as comfy as the one that she wore in modern times while travelling, she had no other choice damnit!

" Your majesty, you cannot wear that dress," said Lady Agard but Bree simply rolled her eyes and threw the dress at her, with her quick reflexes Lady Agard caught it at once. " Why can’t I wear it? Do you want me to wear that heavy gown while travelling in this heat? I will get rashes on my skin."

The head maid opened one eye and said calmly, " You are a dragon, your majesty."

Bree pursed her lips and immediately glared at the head maid who has been silent for so long but was now speaking up out of turn. " I know what I am but I want to wear that dress so you might as well dress me up in that."

The lady in waiting exchanged a look with each other and finally gave into Bree’s stubborn demands, they knew that even if they were to stand here and argue with the Queen all day, she wouldn’t listen to them, so with a sigh that was filled with disappointment and anger, the lady in waiting took the dress from Lady Agard and started helping Bree in the lightweight dress.

However, they didn’t hide their disappointment, especially the head maid who dragged Bree to a corner when she was done dressing up. " Your majesty, you still have time why don’t you change into that dress?" She pointed at the velvety dress with her chin and Bree’s brows scrunched up. " Why are you being so adamant about me wearing that dress, does it has some kind of good luck charm attached to it?"

The head maid rolled her eyes and said, " Your majesty, that maid is following you, isn’t she? Surely, she will dress up in an eye catching way to make sure that she can trample on your head."

Only now did Bree understand why the Head maid was so adamant about her dressing up in that velvety dress, she wanted her to dress as if she wanted to impress others. She smiled and patted the head maid on the shoulders before saying, " My dear head maid, if I was to dress up so extravagantly then people will talk behind my back... and do you think that I need to dress up to suppress that maid? I am the Queen of the Empire and she is someone who works for me, if I have to dress up so gaudily all to suppress that maid while she is dressed in a simple outfit then I am afraid I will lose even if I win."

With her hair carefully thrown behind her back into a cluster of curls, Bree raised her head and looked at the head maid, " As the Queen of this Empire, I do not need to dress up all because I want to suppress a little maid, my aura as the royalty should be enough to that."

" Firs Consort, you are here already?" Though the plan that the system came up with was put on hold for a short while, Harley wasn’t deterred in fact she was even more motivated to take everything away from the Dragon Queen. Since Yakov was the one who came up with such a perfect plan to take the Queen down last time, surely he can do the same thing again? As long as she charms him right back and raises his favourability then she will be able to get her hands on both the throne and the men!

Yakov was reading his book when he heard Harley’s voice, his wolf peeled its upper lips back in disdain as if he couldn’t believe that its human counterpart actually chose someone this disgusting to be with them but he said nothing, instead, it retreated even further inside Yakov ignoring the woman who was trying to get close to him. " Miss Harley, I am surprised that despite the short notice you managed to come so early."

What he meant was that he was annoyed by her appearance so suddenly but Harley took it as if he was praising her after all in the book it was mentioned that Yakov liked those who were punctual and knew how to follow and obey the rules written down in the history. " I was surprised too, but I knew that I have to show up on time, that’s why I couldn’t do much, even getting ready was such a hassle, I just threw on whatever I saw in my trunk."

Despite what she said Yakov could see that she was wearing a well-ironed pink dress which matched her silvery hair perfectly, with frills and bows attached to it, if anything it made her look even more delicate and soft than she was —— there was also a sheen coat of lip butter on Harley’s lips and Yakov’s mouth curled up. She just threw whatever she found eh?

Though he knew that the girl was lying he didn’t call her out on it, he simply suppressed the disdainful smile and said pleasantly, " Is that so, Miss Harley? But you still look really nice despite getting ready in a jiffy."

Harley’s face lit up when she heard the ding in her head and watched her favourability score of Yakov go up! Finally, it was finally going up!
