Chapter 125: Caught peeking

" My Queen, it’s good that you are still awake, I thought that I will have to wake you and wake you up," knocking on the window pane, he smiled cheekily while waving the large bottle of wine that was in his hands. " I even brought you, your favourite, chocolate wine and some, strawberry Ricotta Bruschetta and crab crescents. I know you like them the most while having your favourite wine, so let me and let’s have a good time, what do you say?"

Cian stretched his lips as wide as he could almost pressing his face against the glass pane, he didn’t know why he was doing this. Wasn’t he saving the chocolate wine for himself and wasn’t he used to drinking all alone? Then why did he ask Jesse to prepare these things for him? Even had him take out the oldest wine there was in the cellar. He must be out of his mind wanting to please this woman, who has never cared for him even when he was dying for even a minute of her affection.

" My Queen, don’t you think that having wine with someone as handsome as me, while appreciating the moon is something much more better than staying holed up in your room and just staring at the moon like it’s some sort of magical thing?"

Bree crossed her arms in front while looking at Cian, she didn’t know why he brought her chocolate wine or the two appetisers but she has to say that she really liked the thought process. After all, no one would say no to a bottle of good wine and some appetisers after a long day at work and when it came to her, she was taking care of the entire Empire in place of someone who should be taking care of it, since it was her responsibility.

She strode to the balcony window and looked at Cian, who was beaming at her with a smile. " Open up, your majesty. I know that you really like to eat these don’t you, if you open the door right now then these things will be yours to eat, so come on open up and let me in."

Hearing his words as if he was some thug trying to kidnap the beauty, Bree smiled before clicking open the lock and watched as an ecstatic expression came over his face. " My Queen, I knew that you will not turn me away——" he was still going on when Bree snatched the wine and the appetisers from his hands and slammed the window shut once again leaving Cian completely dumbfounded.

" Thanks for the wine and everything," said Bree shaking the wine bottle in her hand with a smile that was more teasing than showing a bull red cloth, she took a look at the wine and let out a whistle when she saw the date printed on the bottom of the bottle. "This is some good stuff, I have to say that I didn’t expect that you will bring me something this good, but you seriously gave me a surprise! Thank you so much for that."

After she finished saying her piece, she tugged on the curtains that were hanging on both sides of the balcony door and pulled them close, shutting Cian’s view off completely.

Everything happened so quickly that Cian couldn’t understand what just happened to him, all he knew was that he was supposed to be allowed inside the room and then he would have a great time explaining what happened in the streets and moved by his sincerity the queen will forgive him but instead he was locked out? Was she serious?

She even took his twenty years old wine, damn it!

Sucking in a breath, he knocked on the glass door and called out, " My Queen, I know that you are angry and I don’t blame you but at least let me in and have a little conversation with you before you deem me guilty, don’t you think that this is too much?"

" My Queen!"

" Your majesty!"

" Can you not hear me, your majesty?"

With each sentence, Cian’s pounding on the door became louder and louder but Bree never came out to answer him much less stop him.

" She has to be making a fool out of me," said Cian looking at the door in disbelief. He wasn’t here to deliver the goods and get lost for the betterment of society! He was here because he wanted to talk and no one was going to stop him, with a roll of his shoulders, he retreated back and stripped off his clothes and shifted—— sounds of bones popping and muscles shifting echoed on the balcony and a beautiful bird with feathers that were the fluffiest pink surfaces and ruffled its feathers.

It looked at the closed door that was shutting him off from his mate and squawked before spreading his wings and flying to the window that was open.

Bree was pouring herself a generous amount of wine in the glass when she heard the sounds of wings flapping and before she could comprehend what was happening, a bird that was neither too big nor small flew inside, its pink feather glittering under the moonlight while the big, long yellow feather on top its head ruffled along with the wind, behind it was a flicker of glitter as if it was showering diamonds with every flap of its wings.

" What the——" she was stunned when the bird came to sit next to her and turned its head to ninety degrees before letting out a soft, coaxing chirp. She blinked at the bird that walked closer to her and started rubbing its head against her right thigh and almost let out a chuckle. " Oh, I get it now...you are Cian’s Siren aren’t you?"

The pink ball of fluff raised its head and let out a squawk as if agreeing with her and then flew a little to come and sit on her lap. It pushed its little head against her stomach as if hitting her for leaving him behind on the balcony.

She laughed upon seeing him sell his cutesy act and picked up the bird before staring right at its dark glittering eyes. " I am not angry and you don’t have to do this, okay?"

Within a second, Cian came into view as he peered down at her with his sea green eyes and said, " Really, are you sure that I don’t have to do it? For I think that you are still blaming for what happened downtown."

Bree would have said something along the line that, ’it’s nothing like that’ or ’ you misunderstood’ but she couldn’t do it, not when he was sitting in her lap ——naked and everything unravelled.

" Oh my gosh, what are you doing?" shrieked Bree as she pushed him off her lap and hurriedly looked away lest she saw something that she shouldn’t, with cheeks flushed and her entire face burning, she stared at the opposite wall and said, " Are you out of your mind, how can you shift back all of sudden, like this? Don’t you think that its just plain rude? Where are your clothes?"

Cian didn’t understand why she was making such a loud fuss over him being naked —— shifters especially mated ones were used to seeing each other naked, there was no need for her to act as if she hasn’t seen one before right? Though he had a lot of what he wanted to say, he still closed his mouth before thinking carefully as he said, " I didn’t think that you will react like this, your majesty...I have shifted countless times in front of you and you have never once complained. And my clothes are outside, I left them on the balcony, you can pick them from there or I can do it——-."

Just as he stood up from his seat, Bree caught a flash of something and snapped with irritation. " There is no need, just stay where you are and I will take care of it, all right. Don’t move from your place, there is no need for you to do so ——I will go and pick your clothes, you just stay where you are and just ...just sit tight."

She stood up from her chair and made sure that she couldn’t see anything turned to walk towards the glass door. But as she crossed the room and got closer to the window, she realised that Cian’s reflection was right in front of her —— lean muscles that deliciously stretched across his abdomen, collar bone that looked as delicate as it looked beautiful and the hardened pebbles on his pectoral muscles, if she hadn’t been careful she would have dipped her gaze lower and ——

" Your majesty, there is no need to peek at me through the window," said Cian catching her red-handed. " If you want I can give you a full view, just turn around and I will show you..." after saying this, he went to spread his legs apart and Bree immediately opened the door interrupting the reflection that was shown on the window and said, " There is no need, I am fine as it is!"
