The Devil's Warrior Queen
Chapter 333: Vulnerable

Chapter 333: Vulnerable

The heat engulfing them from the hot spring only fueled the rising tension in the air as she closed every inch of distance between them, her hardened nipples grazing his hard chest as she pressed her body against his.

It didn’t take long before his sleeping monster arose from its slumber, his cork twitching between his legs, eager to devour and savor a delectable meal.

Abruptly, she moved away from him before he could grab hold of her, making the water ripple softly while she leaned toward the edge of the hot spring with a snarky smile hanging on her lips.

His ember eyes squinted at her but he didn’t react more than that as he let out a soft chuckle at her naughty behavior.

"What is so humorous that amuses you so?" She asked with an innocent gleam in her eyes as she playfully padded her feet above the water’s surface.

"Being naughty aren’t you?" His reddish-golden eyes flickered with a tinge of golden flushing over his irises, to tint it to a pure golden hue for a split second as he shot her a smoky glance.

"You have beautiful eyes, I know you’ve heard it a lot, but still, they’re the most beautiful I’ve ever seen." She remarked, her countenance holding a mixture of infatuation and marvel.

"Everyone else were too scared to comment on my appearance, everyone else but you." He said, his pupils dilating to a darker hue as a reminiscing look flit through.

For a momentarily second, she saw a myriad of emotions in that one look of his, but none of which were joyful nor sad, but rather it was a look of revulsion, mockery, of rejection and days of self resentment, they were windows to the story of how he became the monster he was.

She realized at that moment, that he was wrong. He wasn’t born a monster, he was made into one. Alienated, rejected and unloved, she could see it all in his eyes which clearly told her the story of his past, although she wasn’t aware of the details, but she was well aware that he had a tough childhood growing up, but just how severe it was, she had no idea.

After a prolonged moment of silence, Rama choosing her words carefully, finally broke it "Humans and the other beings fear what they do not have control over, but then, their fear turns into hate and rejection, is that what happened...to you? Were you rejected because you were different?"

She saw him swallow stiffly, before proceeding to speak "What do you think happens when you’re the bastard prince of the family? And as if that wasn’t enough, the man who birthed me had to be the devil himself. Of course they were all afraid of me even my own mother, but not because I was his son, they were afraid of me because they had no idea what I was capable of doing."

He chuckled slightly as he reminisced, but behind that apathetic facade he wore, she could sense his vulnerability breaking through the cracks in his mask, cracks she wanted to mend so badly, as well as his broken soul and also kindle a spark in his shadowed heart, but little did she know she already had.

She stayed silent as he spoke while he freely released the pent up tragedies from his past, as she listened keenly.

"I could sense the fear from every single, living breathing thing everyday in the castle, they feared I might rise one day and bring damnation unto them, they feared because the apple was no more farther from the tree and they weren’t wrong now, were they?" He shrugged nonchalantly with a devilish glint in his eyes.

"Despite their fear, they tried to mask it with hate instead, everyone despised Lucifer’s heir, the repulsive half breed. The dark son was my nickname, quite a nice one at that, but then, I hated it so much that whenever I heard someone utter it, I would sill the blood of their entire household. I was quite ruthless and impulsive, I know but I’ll never try to justify my actions no matter what happened to me." Draco implied with dead eyes, as usual no remorse or regret for his past deeds.

"No one’s asking you to justify them, neither am I. We’ve all done things we aren’t proud of, I might not remember mine but I’m sure I’m no better than anyone, so what right do I have to judge?" Rama intoned.

"Well said, but if you heard of the things I’ve done, you’ll believe in the greater evil because I am the greater evil, not Lucifer, he’s calm and calculating, the greater evil isn’t. It’s not calm, or thoughtful, it just seeks for blood, to destroy and cause chaos, its always been in my blood but I can safely say that you changed me Rama, quite a big change if you ask me." He pointed out with a endearing smile adorning his beautiful face.

She blushed from the heat of his words as well as the hot spring "That is relieving to hear, but you’re quite still reckless to me, you’re impulsive and wildly driven by your emotions, but for all its worth, I’d love to finish the story, if you’re fine by it of course." She said hesitantly.

"Sure, why not? It’s quite a boring story, so I’ll cut it short but I won’t leave any important details behind." He said with a soft sigh as he proceeded while she waited eagerly.

"I don’t mean to pry, but what about your mother?" Rama unexpectedly enquired as she soaked in the soothing steam water.

"My mother..." He repeated thoughtfully with a crooked smile playing on the edge of his lips.

"Apparently, she was the most scared of the monster she had birthed into the world and it didn’t help that Lucifer abandoned her to continue with his devious schemes since his mate was distracting, since then, she hated looking at me because I reminded her of him. Typical lovebirds." He snickered.

"It doesn’t justify her hate for you, you did nothing wrong. They were the ones who fornicated and brought you into this world, they should take responsibility for their actions." Rama snapped, her jade eyes gleaming with anger.

Her priceless reaction and her blatant response elicited a reverberating laughter rolling from him as he was amused by her reply, he laughed so hard as he threw his head back while his adam’s apple bobbled up and down his throat, with the beautiful ring of his laughter ringing in the cave.

She had never seen him laughed so hard and so genuinely amused before and as she watched the light in his eyes expand while he laughed, an overwhelming sensation of bliss crammed her heart.

The feeling of just watching him in that state brought her an inexplicable sense of warmth, she just wanted to watch him in that state, laughing and utterly amused.

She wanted to see that beautiful smile on his lips and the angelic ring of his laughter, she never wanted it to fade and in that moment she made a silent vow to herself that she would do everything in her power to keep him happy for all of eternity.

"Was my statement that humorous? Did you have a good laugh?" She said sarcastically with a straight face as he finally stopped laughing, but this time he was cackling softly.

"That was unexpected to hear and yes, it was a good laugh. I never thought I would laugh as hard as I did, noone’s ever really been funny, I guess they’re all boring creatures but you." Draco stated in seriousness.

"Well, I’m glad I make you laugh even though I said nothing funny." She said as she rolled her eyes in confusion.

"Anyways, as for the end of the story, I killed everyone and became the feared vampire king." He suddenly wrapped the story in a short summary, one that left her mouth hanging open in disbelief and confusion.

"Wait! That’s unfair, I don’t understand. Who is the everyone you killed? How? Why? When? Tell me the story properly!" She demanded as she pouted her lips angrily at him while splashing water over him.

"I already told you before, besides when you regain your memories, you’ll remember everything so don’t worry about it." He said with a nonchalant expression as he relaxed back.

Refusing to give up, she thrashed her limbs in the water angrily as she demanded to hear the story.

"Alright, alright feisty princess, I’ll explain properly, for the second time." He finally gave in with an exasperated sigh.

A wide grin tore through her lips as he spoke, her eyes twinkling with anticipation.

"I had stepbrothers and the king was my stepfather as you know, so when I reached the age of sixteen, there was this girl who didn’t quite look at me the way the others did, I was vulnerable, longing for acceptance and she gave me that, so I fell. I was a vulnerable child, deprived of love from everyone else and the two people who should have given it to him." He paused, scrutinizing her face for any signs of jealousy.

And there were visible signs of jealousy on her twisted face and upturned lips, but she wanted nothing more than to hug him and patch up the rips in his heart and mend his broken soul.

"There’s nothing for you to be jealous of love, she’s long dead and doesn’t hold a candle to you." He assured her with a charming smile, but rather horror masked her face.

"Did you...kill her?" She asked in disbelief.

"No, but I would if you asked me to." He said with a straight face.
