Chapter 319: Red-Handedly Caught

Rama had been standing by the window while subconsciously waiting for Draco even though she decided to shut her emotions in.

She was already upset with the fact that he decided to ignore her so she refrained from waiting but still yet, she waited while lying to herself that the night sky was beautiful so she was staring at it.

After a short moment of waiting, that pang of loneliness and longing for his presence twisted in the pit of her stomach.

She hated how he seemed to have a strange effect on her even without him being present within just a matter of one day, it both unnerved and relieved her.

She was slightly unnerved because she was already hypnotized by him but she was relieved because she could feel that very soon she would regain her memories back and finally no longer wander around in the land of oblivion.

How she yearned with her soul to regain her memories and remember the shared moments she could see reflecting in his eyes and finally, fill the gaping void within her.

As she thought aimlessly, the door creaked behind her and in that moment, time stood still as a faint chill air blew past her.

The room which was devoid of his presence was suddenly laden with the menacing aura of the man she had been waiting for and finally, he was back, she could feel every inch of his presence occupying the room like a sinister fog, but still, her feet was rooted to the marble floor.

Even with the clinking of his boot echoing behind her, not a single limb moved as she continued watching the midnight skies, she was pleased he was back but he didn’t deserve her attention after leaving her alone for hours, so she adopted the angry facade while reminding herself of the monster he was, to maintain her demeanor.

"I didn’t mean to leave for such long hours, my apology is useless but I wanted to give you space rather than suffocate you with my presence, since everything has been happening too fast for you to process and I understand you need time to adapt especially since you don’t remember anything." She heard his honeyed velvet voice rumble behind her.

There was something slightly different with his tone, rather than the usual tinge of arrogance coating it, it seemed softer and remorseful. Her stoic demeanor suddenly broke like a dam, realizing it could have been her harsh words.

Veering around in a swift motion, her eyes met him, almost rendering her speechless but she managed to form the words "There’s no need to apologize, I should be the one apologizing instead, for what I said earlier."

His jaws ticked and the fire in his eyes came alive with vigor as he spoke "You weren’t wrong. That was the reality of the situation, I could have lost you while I wasn’t by your side, but never again. I promise..." The last word was said in a floating whisper, but she caught it.

Silence hung in the room as his flaming eyes locked into hers, his chiseled features danced with the darkness but his flaming eyes bore Into her very soul as he kept his keen gaze fixated intensely on her.

She swallowed, lashes fluttering in nervousness at the intensity of his passionate eyes. The silence was pregnant with unsaid desires swirling in the air, the unspoken words of longing, one which made her terrified to her bones, because she knew how very well vulnerable she was in front of this man, he was dangerous and capable of making her resolve melt with just a touch.

The silence, heavy and oppressive was suddenly broken with the soft clinking of his boots as he slowly approached her, every movement of his was like a delicate dance ensnared with elegance. His strides and sways were akin to the movement of a fallen angel.

The silence proceeded again as he stood in front of her, where the moonlight basked him, making his skin radiate with a lustrous otherworldly glow.

The overwhelming melancholic presence oozing from him cloaked her in an irresistible world of temptation as he neared her, she could feel the hotness emanating from his body even without touching him, like a human furnace.

His breathing was low, raspy but controlled, as he looked down at her in eye level, only then did she realize how agonizngly short she appeared to be in front of him as she noticed she was reaching his chest level.

A maelstrom of intimidation and vulgar fantasies brewed in her head as she tilted her head up to look at him, while inwardly worshipping his terrifying beauty, one that could make a person stop breathing from fear or from his otherworldly presence.

Her eyes narrowed down to his full, red delicious lips and she salivated as she thought back to their kiss in the garden.

She braced herself for what he was about to do and inwardly, she wanted him to do exactly what she was thinking, despite feeling slightly shameful since he was a man she barely knew for a day but in defence, he was her demon mate and husband, so her shame dissipated with the conclusion.

"Have you been waiting for me?" He asked instead, not what she was expecting from him, in fact she wasn’t expecting him to speak.

Why would he ask her that while she was busy waiting for something else? Why would he even close the distance between them just to ask her that insignificant question? She pondered in displeasure.

"Hm?" He tilted his head slightly to the side, even the small gesture was flawless. She wondered what past deed she made in her past life for the universe to bless her with such a flawless god.

"Uhm, yes I...but I wasn’t waiting anymore, it was...I was..staring at the sky." She fumbled with her words and she bit her bottom lip as she stuttered confusingly.

"You shouldn’t bite your lips." He muttered under his breath, whatever resolve he seemed to be keeping cracked beneath the surface as he tore his eyes away from her.

"Did you resolve the issue?" She asked as the thought crossed her mind.

"What issue?"

"You said you wanted to get rid of a dark entity in the castle, did you take care of it?" She pointed out.

"Ahh, that. It’s taken care of, there’s nothing to worry about." He lied smoothly and she sighed in relief.

"You should go to bed if you’re feeling sleepy." He suggested and her brows subconsciously furrowed, displeased by his words when she had been eager to kiss him, how disappointing.

"I wasn’t feeling sleepy yet, I’ll just watch the sky a bit before bed." She said, her voice low with disappointment she couldn’t hide.

"Did you need something, you sound displeased." He implied.

She forced out a tiny smile as she denied "No, I’m not displeased at all, why would I be?"

"How many times do I have to tell you that I can see through you like a looking glass and that you’re also a bad liar, Rama?" He pointed out, his smoky eyes following her every movement as she squirmed in unease.

Her cheeks flushed as she realized that he was already aware of the vulgar fantasies flooding her head, she refrained from defending herself since there was nothing to defend, so she wallowed in embarrassment as she locked her eyes on the floor, she suddenly wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole at that moment.

"Now, I will only ask you once." He said, his voice echoing softly into her ears while she still locked eyes with the floor, unable to look him in the eyes after being red-handedly caught by the handsome devil.

She waited with bated breath for the question, until his voice rang.

"Do you want me to obey the wishes of your mind or you’d rather watch the stars?" He shot at her and her head suddenly flinched upwards to steal a glance of his face.

She didn’t even want to waste a second on contemplating what response to give, but she wanted to be sure it wasn’t a tease, although it didn’t seem like it was, but then he was an unpredictable man.

Without thinking for another second, she murmured the words out "Yes.." in a smattering whisper.

Immediately she gave her answer, a devilish smile curled his lips up.

Without wasting a second, he leaned down to her level while she subconsciously waited for his lips to meet hers as she closed her eyes.

She tensed when she felt his sinewy arms curling slowly around her waist as he pulled her closer and without any further second, his lips grazed against hers delicately before he succumbed to the hungry beasts within him as he slammed his lips against hers.

The friction of their lips rubbing against each other in harmony rekindled a deep wave of sensational heat within her.

She was lost in his kiss, the skillful stroke of his luscious red lips against hers and the way he effortlessly invaded her warm insides with his slithering tongue was mind shriveling.
