The Devil's Warrior Queen -
Chapter 264: Doom In The Air
Chapter 264: Doom In The Air
Rama’s stomach churned at the display of the devil’s brutality and lack of remorse, her lashes quivered in disbelief at what she had just witnessed. If not that she was bound in a static motion, she would have slumped down on the floor as she was utterly weakened to the marrow of her bone.
Her mind melted and she suddenly became frozen with shock, unable to react, unable to scream till her windpipes exploded, she just stayed silent as she watched the light in Malika’s beautiful eyes go out, like lit candles that had been snuffed out by a wicked wind.
Her chest contracted painfully as she watched Malika’s decapitated body slump limply on the floor while blood sprayed out of her neck to bathe the ground with a crimson shade.
An unfathomable cold pricked her skin like ice daggers, the bitter bile she usually tasted was nowhere near the bitterness that spread in her mouth at that moment. She couldn’t even feel rage or hate, there was nothing for her to feel but utter misery, she was drowning in a shadowy abyss of nightmares and she wanted it to swallow her entirely at the moment.
She didn’t want to feel anymore, she didn’t want to think about the melancholic occurrence that she was witnessing, she just wanted it all to end, she wanted to end so she would not be able to feel anymore.
"I am being quite merciful Zamiel and giving you a chance to redeem yourself." Lucifer said in a nonchalant voice as he tossed Malika’s bloody head aside, leaving it to roll for a bit before it stopped.
Zamiel’s bloodhshot eyes glared at him with an eerie intensity as he struggled to break free with the primal urge of revenge and sorrow clouding his senses. His once-proud countenance was now etched with profound sorrow, his piercing crimson eyes clouded with grief.
Shoving aside the fact that his strength was incomparable to Lucifer’s, if he hadn’t been bind and restricted his movement, he would have undoubtedly defied the odds of his strength against the devil, but unfortunately, he was in an inescapable trap.
Rama, unable to say a word was rather silent, her demeanor downbeat with unparalleled sorrow that was indifferent to her blank expression while tears silently rolled down her face.
"Now, it’s time for Draco’s punishments, hopefully when he serves his, he’ll come back to his senses." Lucifer remarked as he turned his back on them, proceeding to Draco, but before he could take another step, Draco collided against him when his blurry gaze met Rama’s in her ensnared state.
But then, his balance wavered making him unable to wield his profound energy anymore as he threatened to fall but despite his weak state, he still stood firmly on his feet while glowering at Lucifer whose balance failed to be altered after the collision as he stood.
"Hibernate me for a thousand years, but the moment I wake up and she ceases to exist, I’ll burn everything down including hell." Draco growled with a fiendish glow in his burning crimson eyes.
"When you wake up, I’ll be waiting." Lucifer said nonchalantly as his eyes darted to the figure behind him as Morwana rises up on her feet after healing from the gory wound she suffered in the hands of Draco.
Shrouded in an eerie mist that seemed to conceal ancient secrets, Morwana, the enigmatic goddess of death, moved with a graceful yet haunting presence.
She was a figure shrouded in a cloak of midnight hues, her features veiled beneath a swirling mist that trailed around her like an ethereal shroud. Her presence invoked a sense of both fear and awe striking into Rama’s being as she watched her move toward Draco.
Evoking malignant dark chain-like mists from the tip of her fingers, they snaked with an eerie essence toward Draco.
Amidst the gnarled trees and looming shadows, a commotion arose, echoing through the stillness of the forest as Draco, the son of the devil, a being of dark and malevolent essence, found himself ensnared by Morwana’s powers.
Bound by an intricate web of shimmering threads woven from the essence of the afterlife, he stood frozen, his attempts to move thwarted by the Morwana’s mystic intervention as he writhed with vigorous pressure to break free, his nose flaring with smokes and his eyes burning red as fury enveloped his facade.
Morwana’s power manifested in the form of ethereal chains, forged from the very essence of mortality itself. They coiled around Draco, their spectral glow entwining with the malevolent energy that coursed through his being. Each chain pulsed with an otherworldly luminescence, sapping his infernal strength and rendering him powerless against her might.
Her visage remained serene, yet her eyes gleamed with an intensity that held the weight of countless souls she had encountered in their final moments. With an otherworldly voice that resonated through the fabric of reality itself, Morwana spoke, her words laden with a quiet authority that brooked no defiance.
"Son of darkness, heed the grasp of mortality that now holds you." her voice echoed, sending shivers through the ancient trees. "In this forest, where life and death intertwine, your malevolence shall find no sanctuary. Your father’s realm holds no dominion over this sacred ground."
Draco struggled against the spectral restraints, his efforts futile against the primordial forces that bound him. The forest seemed to respond to Morwana’s command, the very air thickening with an otherworldly presence that rendered escape an impossibility.
Morwana’s form shimmered with an iridescent radiance, as if drawing upon the ebb and flow of existence itself. Her purpose was clear, to gain her vengeance against the encroachment of darkness.
With a gesture of her hand, the goddess summoned ancient runes that danced in the air, weaving a protective barrier around the ensnared entity. The runes glowed with an irrevocable decree, a binding that resonated with the very fabric of the universe, ensuring that Draco remained confined within the heart of the forest.
Lucifer moving toward Draco who had fallen on his knees as the malevolent powers of the goddess ensnared him, stretched forth his hand toward him, a torrent of dark energy whirling in his palm.
"Have a nice nap son, I’ll see you in a millennia." Lucifer muttered under his breath as a wicked grin crossed his lips.
Draco growled darkly, his face contorted with anger until the torrent of dark energy ejected from his palm to enclose on him, encircling his bound form in a vortex of melancholic shadows.
Every inch of his being was sucked into the whirlpool of foreboding darkness, while he struggled to break free but the vortex was too overwhelming for him to break from.
His anguished growl resonated in the forest as the otherworldly shadowy essence clouded his figure. His bemoaning groan was a symphony of Rama’s ignored pleas as she begged Lucifer for mercy, her body trembled with the cold wave of fear spreading through every inch of her as she sobbed heavily.
Her heart twisted painfully, enacting an inexplicable ache that engulfed her entire being as she watched Draco become consume by the vortex of darkness while she was helpless and vulnerable, adrenaline streamed into her blood with every passing, uncanny second.
Her fate at that moment was consumed with uncertainty and despairing hours.
Watching the display of the devil’s and Morwana’s malignant merge of powers as they restrained Draco, her heart bled with guilt and unparalleled sorrow. She had been yelling uncontrollably for them to stop, but her pleas were surrendered to deaf ears as the torrent of dark energy intensified as it enveloped him.
Her voice cracked and her throat constricted agonizingly from all the screaming that almost made her windpipes burst, she failed to have a voice any longer as she cried silently, with no amount of pain capable of mirroring hers in that despairing moment.
She sobbed heavily as she watched Draco’s form slowly dissipate into thin air like pulverized ash as it floated with the wind in shadowy mists.
His reddish-gold eyes were still perceptible beneath the consuming darkness as he stared at her with dimmed eyes, but the potent emotions reflecting his despair and guilt-heavy heart was blatantly discernible to her.
Soon, the vortex of darkness was almost fading him away and as she watched with a heavy heart of distinctive longing, she mouthed the words "I love you." her voice barely an audible whisper that echoed beneath her raspy breath.
With the wind, the vortex of shadow faded as Draco’s form was lost to sight.
"We were supposed to kill her first in front of him, you promised me vengeance!" Morwana argued as she narrowed her spiteful gaze at Rama.
"And vengeance was served." Lucifer remarked nonchalantly.
Morwana, breathing heavily proceeded to march toward Rama with heavy stomps, until Lucifer extended his hand toward her to release snake tendrils coiling around her abdomen, arms, legs and her neck.
"What are you doing?" She shrieked amidst her choked voice.
"Giving you a new cage." Lucifer replied blatantly with emotionless eyes and a dead countenance.
