Chapter 222: Ethereal Lake

Chapter 222: Ethereal Lake

Draco carefully arranged the freshly hunted deer meat on the wooden table in their cozy cottage. He hummed a soft tune while preparing the meat, occasionally glancing out the window to check on Rama, who was gathering herbs from their garde

Draco called out "Rama, the deer’s ready for cooking!"

Rama glanced up, a smile lighting up her face as she walked inside, her hands adorned with herbs and wildflowers.

Rama exclaimed in delight when her eyes met the nicely prepared meat "Oh, Draco, you’ve done a splendid job!" She leans in to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Shall we start cooking together?"

Draco nodded eagerly, grabbing a worn but cherished cookbook from the shelf. The fire crackled cheerfully in the hearth as they began their culinary adventure.

Draco reads the book with squinted eyes "Let’s see, it says here to marinate the meat with these herbs and spices." He points to the instructions in the book.

Rama chirped happily "Right, I’ll chop these herbs finely while you season the meat."

With a sense of teamwork, they worked side by side, Draco tenderly massaging the spices into the meat while Rama skillfully chopped the fragrant herbs.

Rama, sniffing the herbs "Ah, the aroma is divine!"

Draco remarks "Just like you, my love." He winks, earning a playful shove from Rama.

They chuckled and continued with their cooking, Draco skillfully searing the meat in a pan while Rama brewed a savory broth with the leftover herbs and some vegetables.

Rama took a peek at what Draco was doing from her side eye "How’s it coming along?"

He answered "Almost ready, the meat just needs a bit more time."

She set the table, laying out their simple but cherished dishes and utensils while Draco tended to the final stages of their meal.

Placing the cooked meat on a serving platter, he yelled out"There we go, all done!"

Hurrying over to his side, she cries out "It looks delicious!" She beams with pride.

They sat down together, the warmth of the fire casting a comforting glow around the room. Draco served them both generous portions of the tender, flavorful deer meat, and Rama ladled the fragrant broth into bowls.

Draco cheered with a divine handsome face "To us, and to this beautiful meal."

And she chanted "To us!" She raises her bowl, clinking it against Draco’s.

They enjoyed their meal in contented silence, savoring each bite and exchanging smiles and loving glances. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor, a testament to their teamwork and love.

As they finished their meal, they washed the dishes together. It was only simple chores and menial tasks, but she enjoyed every inch of it. Draco after they were done, offered his hand to Rama, but as she was about to grasp hold of his, a soft melody basked the background, erupting from outside.

Rama glanced around with furrowed brows "It sounds like music. But where is it coming from?"

"Those fucking insects!" Draco hissed beneath his breath.

Before she could ponder further, a shimmering light danced through the window, followed by a troupe of ethereal beings, faeries, adorned in gossamer gowns adorned with petals and leaves, their wings shimmering like iridescent gems in the fading daylight.

A Faerie with purple dancing hair and transparent magenta wings spoke "Greetings, kind souls! We’ve come to share our merriment with you!"

Another Faerie chipped in, their voices like tiny squeaky bells "Join us in a dance, won’t you?"

Rama exchanged surprised yet delighted glances between the Faeries and back on Draco whose face was twisted grimly, then with a shared smile, she welcomed the faeries into their humble abode.

Rama gave him a side glare and with a sardonic grin playing on his lips as he spoke with a hiss"We’d be honored to join your dance!"

While Rama with a heartwarming smile invited them in "Yes, please, make yourselves at home!"

While Rama paid attention to them, he caught a Faerie in his hold, away from Rama’s view, he spat out "If I ever see you and your filthy insects in front of me again, I’ll burn your tiny faces off!"

Rama suddenly veered around and he shoved the pertrified Faerie away as a forced smile hung on his lips "I heard you." She said with a raised brow before returning her attention back on the tiny magical creatures.

The faeries’ laughter filled the room as they formed a circle, beckoning Draco and Rama to join them. A mesmerizing melody, carried by flutes and harps unseen, filled the air, and the faeries began to move in graceful twirls and spins.

Draco, extending his hand to Rama, asked"May I have this dance, my dear?"

Although he wasn’t quite pleased with the Faeries appearance, he was well aware of her fondness to the mischievous tiny creatures so he concluded within him to make her as happy as possible, after all he had promised to create memorable moments with her.

Rama nodded with a gleeful smile, taking Draco’s hand as they joined the faeries in their merry dance. The room transformed into a whirl of laughter, shimmering wings, and lively music, the faeries guiding Draco and Rama in elegant steps.

The hours passed like moments, the sun dipping below the horizon as the dance continued. The faeries’ magic seemed to lengthen the day, casting a soft, enchanting glow over the cottage, keeping the candles lit with an otherworldly radiance.

As the night deepened, the faeries’ dance grew more spirited, weaving intricate patterns of light and sound. Draco and Rama’s hearts soared with the sheer joy of the moment, their worries and troubles forgotten in the enchantment of the faeries’ presence.

Eventually, as the night reached its peak, the music slowed to a gentle lullaby. The faeries bowed gracefully, their laughter fading into the night as they vanished into the darkness, leaving behind a lingering sense of magic and wonder.

Draco and Rama stood in the hushed cottage, breathless and filled with an indescribable happiness.

Rama chirped happily "That was extraordinary!"

Draco replied, although he wasn’t as delighted as she was "Indeed, it was. A memory to cherish forever.’

Hand in hand, they gazed out into the starry night, the melodies of the faeries’ dance echoing in their hearts as they shared a tender moment, grateful for the magical encounter that had graced their humble home.

As the moon rose high in the star-studded sky, Draco broke the silence basking them in the cold airy night, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he extended his hand to Rama.

As she placed her hand in his, he spoke in a low tune "Come with me, my love. I have something magical to show you tonight."

Rama, intrigued by Draco’s invitation, took his hand with a curious smile. They ventured into the dense, ancient forest surrounding their cottage, the path illuminated by the gentle glow of fireflies and the occasional glimpse of moonlight filtering through the canopy above.

He led her deeper into the woods, their footsteps cushioned by a carpet of soft moss and fallen leaves. The air was alive with the symphony of nocturnal creatures, their calls and rustles creating a harmonious melody.

Curious by the surprise, she was forced to ask as they went farther away from the cottage, taking routes that she was unfamiliar with "Where are we going, Draco?"

He simply smiled, a knowing enigmatic one curving his lips up as he said "It’s a secret, my dear. Patience, and you’ll soon see."

After a while, they emerged into a small clearing, where an otherworldly scene awaited them. A serene lake, its surface shimmering with the silvery reflection of the full moon, lay before them, cradled by the surrounding ancient trees.

Rama gasped in awe at the sight, her eyes wide with wonder.

She breathed out at the serene sight "It’s breathtaking, Draco! I’ve never seen such beauty!"

He smiled proudly, leading Rama closer to the water’s edge. The lake exuded an otherworldly aura, its surface so still that it seemed like a mirror, capturing the celestial glow of the moon above.

"This lake is said to hold ancient magic. Look at how the moonlight dances upon its surface." He reveals to her and she gasps, eyes attentively seeking for the magic within it.

In a mesmerized tone she whispers "It’s like stars trapped in the water."

The couple stood in silence, enchanted by the ethereal beauty surrounding them. The air seemed charged with mystique, carrying the whispers of the forest and the gentle lapping of the enchanted lake. Surrounding the air, the mesmerizing display of fireflies danced in the air, an ethereal sight adding to the mystical beauty the place portrayed.

Rama, in a hushed tone remarks with eyes twinkling in admiration and emotions beyond her proficiency "Draco, this is beyond words. Thank you for sharing this with me."

With a delighted smile, he hugs her from behind as he whispers into her ears "Anything for you, my love."

They lingered by the lakeside, basking in the tranquility of the moment, their souls intertwined with the enchantment of the magical lake. Time seemed to stand still as they absorbed the serenity and wonder of the mystical place.

"What do you say we take a swim in this magical lake." He suggested, his voice alluring, dripped with a spellbinding tempo that drew her into his webs of seduction.
