The Devil's Warrior Queen -
Chapter 196: Grim Reaper
Chapter 196: Grim Reaper
After attaining his revenge, he rashly averted his attention back to his mate who was slowly getting covered in her own pool of blood.
The torrent of burning rage that overwhelmed him was enough to scorch the earth and every living creature that resided in it. He could feel the groping hands of darkness devouring his soul as he stood frozen, lost in a trance-like state of inexplicable grief that swallowed him whole.
Like a fatigued man whose entire energy had been drained, he fell weakly on his knees beside her bloody corpse.
Her neck was slit open, and blood oozed out of the severe laceration to tinge her black hair with the crimson hue of her blood. Her skin was slowly losing its lustrous golden shade as it turned slightly pale.
The moment her heartbeat seized to beat, he had lost all rationality, his mind went berserk with rage and his soul pulverized with an overwhelming sense of anguish.
His body quivered with a force that could spread out earthquakes to stretch out beyond the world. His fiery crimson eyes glowed red as the world and everyone in it not only faded from existence to him, but undeserving to live.
His veins popped seeing her dead, unmoving and lifeless while blood spewed out of her slit throat. The myriads of heartwrenching emotions that engulfed him all at once, made it feel as if he was being murdered brutally all over again with no end to it. The surge of despair and the symphony of grief was an inexplicable feeling to discern.
It felt as though every muscle in him was being stretched, twisted and pulled viciously by unknown forces, standing as a vessel of his raging spirit in the symphony of unmatched grief and dismay.
His crimson eyes reflected the burning anguish that burned through his very soul. His normally infernal aura was now dulled with the enveloping presence of sorrow, his fierce countenance shattered by the overwhelming weight of loss.
Stretching his trembling hands toward her, his every movement was slow and weighted with unbearable despair as his cold fingers grazed her cold cheeks, it felt as though the feel of her cold skin made his heart turn numb with an ice sheet concealing it.
Enveloped by grief, his unearthly beauty was twisted by sorrow. His movements were whimsical and pained as he cradled her in his embrace, pressing her cold lifeless body against his chest.
Her body fell limply in his infernal embrace as his demeanor became clouded with an imperceptible amount of misery that clouded every reason and judgement in him.
The looming air of darkness that slowly cloaked the room as it stemmed from Draco’s dark essence, turned it into a haze of melancholy mixed with the aching heart of a grieving demon, one that was ready to burn everything in his path right that moment, make the earth scorch to ash.
He would have been unable to bear the agony of her loss, and at that moment he wouldn’t even have been sitting there right then, rather he would have been laying everything to waste and inducing an unmatched, disastrous worldwide chaos, taking every single life on earth after plunging it into the wicked devouring hands of his hellish flames.
But the only reason he was holding back from provoking his inner, berserk demons and ochestrating destructive chaos onto the world, was because even in his darkened path, their eternal bond had given him a flicker of hope for redemption, a transformation that would change both their lives.
He would turn her into a vampire, which would ultimately bring her back to life and the bond bite was the core essence of the transformation.
Aurora who had being ensnared by the entrapment of the dark witch queen was finally freed after she died. Witnessing the tragic death of Draco’s mate left her in utter shock and overwhelming fear that she had never felt before, thinking he would go berserk with unfathomable rage and burn the world down.
But then, when she remembered he could turn her into a vampire, she sighed in relief, still yet, she watched his every action and movement.
His malevolent aura had been dissolved as overwhelming grief enveloped him. She watched him with sympathetic eyes as he cradled her corpse in his arms, unmoving.
She gave him the space he needed as he was in an inner battle between rage and anguish, but then when he stayed unmoving for a long moment, staring at her with spaced eyes, she decided to break the silence, but she hesitated in fear that Draco might murder her if he gained awareness of her presence, after all violence was the only way for him to release the anger devouring his soul.
She gulped as her eyes traveled to the viciously mutilated body of the dark witch queen as she laid awkwardly in a pool of her blood. He had impaled her with apparent brutality, that even she found it hard to recognise the once dark beauty anymore.
She impulsively averted her gaze from the gory corpse, but after seeing it, she found it hard to form words from her mouth in fear of her being the next corpse.
Summoning courage, she finally spoke "You can turn her into a vampire thanks to the bond bite, she’ll be fine and thankfully stronger. She’ll be powerful enough to protect herself from harm."
She said with a small voice that cracked every time she sensed his malevolent energy pulsating from his presence.
He was well aware that he could bring her back to life, but the reason for misery devouring his soul wasn’t her dying, it was the fact she died in front of him while he was helpless and vulnerable, unable to save her. It was the fact that her throat was slit in front of him and her life was snuffed out right before his eyes.
In that moment, every single thing enraged him to an inexpressible length.
As soon as her voice filled the air and her presence was known to the grieving demon who had shut everything out, his head very slowly in a mechanical movement turned to face her.
His piercing anguished gaze with bloodshot eyes met hers, a malignant darkness surged like a torrent of malevolent energy she had never seen before. The transparent murderous look in his eyes left her frozen as dread fleeted through hers.
His jaws ticked in amplifying irritation the moment he heard a voice break into his momentary lapse of silence.
The only thing running through his head was grabbing her and very slowly, shredding the skin off her bones, ripping her limbs off and then breaking every single bone in her body while she screamed, a scream of terror.
Placing Rama’s dead body gently on the stone altar, he veered around and the moment his callous gaze locked onto Aurora’s with the cold look of a predator, she flinched in fear, goosebumps rising on her skin.
She regretted speaking out, but at that moment, there was no use crying over split milk, so she braced herself for her gruesome end. It was apparent the berserk demon had targetted her as his prey, after all what better way than to release his rage than on her? To him, she didn’t deserve to live when his mate was dead, no one did.
"Draco...." She called impulsively in a raspy voice, but no amount of pleas would get into the demon’s head.
"Draco please...we can still save her, you can save her you don’t have to do this." She said, trying to talk sense into him, but he seemed to have lost every flicker of reason in him as he approached her with slow dreary steps.
With every step he took toward her, she took three more backward. His face was hardened like steel, distorted with a burning rage and darkness that made him more terrifying than the devil himself, every movement he made surged with a propelling force of his dreadful lineage.
Her body trembled as she took hasty steps away from him, but when her back touched the wall, a shuddering wave of trepidation sparked into her cells.
Knowing her time had come and her end was written, she instinctively shut her eyes as she braced herself for her death to be conveyed to her by the devil’s son, but when seconds passed and nothing happened, she opened her eyes only to see Draco veering around to face a looming sinister figure cloaked in a black garb with a hood worn over its face to conceal its identity, but when she saw its hand holding a scythe she gasped wearily, aware of the fact that the grim reaper had come for his dead mate’s soul.
Only the supernatural beings were able to see the grim reapers who appeared whenever a person died, ready to retain their souls for preparation into the after realm, but then if the grim reaper gained possession of Rama’s, there would be no return for her, but Draco’s unyielding gaze burned into the grim reaper’s, unwilling to accept fate as it was.
