The 'Defective' Billionaire and His Relentless Appetite for Me -
Chapter 40: Captivating Charm
Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Captivating Charm
William Foster nodded gently in agreement, his gratitude evident in his expression, but he didn’t say much.
A simple gesture was enough to convey the mutual understanding between them, eliminating the need for unnecessary verbal explanations.
After Zam left, Arthur Davis came in, "Mr. William Foster, it’s time for your rehabilitation training."
Her tone was gentle yet firm, perfectly reminding the master of the task ahead.
William Foster responded with a nod, then easily stood up from the wheelchair.
Standing nearly six-foot-three, he exuded a leader’s aura from head to toe.
Even dressed in ordinary clothes and standing still, one could feel a strength and confidence radiating from within.
With his handsome face and perfect physique, how could William Foster really be the man who once claimed no one wanted to marry him?
In reality, there were plenty of people who wanted to be his wife.
His appearance alone was enough to draw attention, not to mention his unique charisma and family status, making him an ideal choice for many women.
Arthur Davis respectfully offered a cane, but it was declined, "No need, my leg has recovered well."
William Foster waved his hand lightly, indicating he didn’t need any assistive tools, the good state of his recovery providing him enough confidence to refuse this goodwill.
Arthur Davis replied, "Young Master, surely Young Madam will be very happy to hear about your recovery?"
Her eyes sparkled with joy for him, seemingly also hoping to see the two of them grow even closer in the future.
William Foster countered, "She won’t be, she might even get angry. So Arthur, you should continue treating me as someone who struggles with mobility and eyesight."
His words carried a playful tone, as if he was enjoying a special set of rules in a game.
Arthur Davis looked puzzled, "I don’t understand what you mean..."
Clearly baffled by his words, but she patiently awaited further instructions, hoping to assist him better in managing the current situation.
William Foster unbuttoned his shirt, tossing it aside casually, revealing his enviable physique with its well-defined eight-pack abs.
As he walked out, he explained to Arthur Davis, "You don’t need to understand these things, just follow instructions. It’s indeed hard for an unmarried person to grasp the complexities of marriage."
Arthur Davis remained bewildered, watching William Foster with a face full of confusion.
Just a week ago, Mr. William was still a bachelor; now, why does he speak with such a sense of triumph?
Is romance really something to be so proud of?
Previously, when defeating a competitor’s company, he never seemed this elated.
Even when amassing countless wealth or becoming the head of the family, he never showed such excitement.
Yet falling in love has made him so pleased with himself.
Though she didn’t understand why, Arthur finally chose not to question him further.
In fact, William Foster hadn’t clearly explained to her, yet what he said was true.
By disguising himself to attract his beloved, if he were to reveal the truth now, the bride might just turn around and flee.
He truly didn’t want to be chasing after someone even before marriage.
Following this, William Foster leisurely stepped into the rehabilitation room, his legs now free from any support devices.
Although his stride wasn’t yet swift as a normal person, from the outside, there were no signs of past injuries, which greatly satisfied him.
Imagining his newlywed wife feeling relieved upon seeing his full recovery one day filled him with anticipation.
Just before entering the rehabilitation room, his parting words were, "Also, arrange for someone to closely monitor Samuel Grant."
After speaking, William Foster grasped the parallel bars ahead to start his pull-up warm-up exercises.
With the movement, his muscles became more defined and prominent, emitting an irresistible charm.
Seeing this, Arthur Davis couldn’t help but ask curiously, "After keeping a close watch on Samuel Grant, what do we do next?"
William Foster smirked coldly, his mouth curving slightly, "Catch that guy and give him a good lesson, thirty slaps will do."
His voice was icy and resolute, with an authoritative tone that brooked no argument.
Following the instructions of his wife, he neither sewed his lips nor poisoned him into silence, leaving the only option to take action.
On the surface, William seemed to comply with his wife’s request, but internally, he might have his own considerations and plans.
He was a complex and thoughtful person, never easily manipulated by others.
As night fell, the city lights gradually illuminated, and Samuel Grant staggered drunkenly out of the tavern.
He had been tormented by Clara Bennett to the point of exhaustion, almost unable to walk properly.
Returning home to see Daisy Stone, he no longer felt the warmth and harmony of the past.
What Samuel found hardest to accept was the disturbing scene he dreamt of after getting drunk the previous night: Clara Bennett in a robe, silently nestled in William Foster’s embrace, a scene of unusual intimacy and ambiguity.
This dream kept him awake all night, leaving him dazed and weak throughout the day.
Remembering the unsettling dream, he felt even less inclined to return home to face potentially triggering situations.
So, as night fell once again, he decided to escape the constraints of reality, heading out once more to the corner tavern.
There, he drank glass after glass of strong liquor, hoping to momentarily forget his troubles.
As Samuel drank alone, a group of his usual buddies gathered around.
One of them patted his shoulder, "Samuel, among us, you’re known for having an eye for women. How come you turn a blind eye to Clara Bennett, one of the top beauties in the city? Haven’t you ever thought about seriously pursuing her?"
Upon hearing this, Samuel stiffened momentarily but soon resumed his casual demeanor, replying nonchalantly, "Haha, I like women who are a bit more open-minded. As for Clara, although she’s stunning on the outside, she’s quite dull inside."
However, every time he said this, he couldn’t help but picture her snuggled in someone else’s arms.
Even when wrapped up tightly, she couldn’t hide her captivating allure.
The sight of this filled him with displeasure and even anger.
"It’s infuriating! Always pretending to be so innocent and pure in front of me, yet so charming and alluring with other men!"
A surge of indescribable emotions welled up within him.
At this moment, Samuel felt an intense resentment towards Clara, as if belittling her incessantly was the only way to ease his bitterness.
