Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Kiss Marks

Clara Bennett shook her head and said, "I’m not interested. I won’t interfere in your matters, just as you shouldn’t be involved in my private affairs. Especially when I’m dealing with the Foster family, you are not allowed to have any opinions. If you protect them for the sake of family interests, then this is the end."

As the saying goes, people die for wealth just as birds die for food. Now, entering the Foster family is not just to deal with Samuel Grant alone.

Her goal is to gradually make Samuel Grant’s whole family suffer, prevent her father and brothers from meeting disaster, and investigate the incidents involving her eldest and third brothers, all of which are related to Samuel Grant.

Samuel Grant has the ambition to take over the Bennett family, but could he, on his own, harm her father and three brothers all at the same time?

Is someone helping him behind the scenes?

Could there be others in the Foster family secretly supporting Samuel Grant?

The saboteur—could there be another hidden mastermind behind it all?

These questions remain unanswered, and Clara Bennett feels the need to investigate further.

Whether it is for revenge or to protect her family, she must take action, so she is determined to delve deeper into the Foster family.

William Foster noticed her expression wasn’t great and cautiously asked, "Do you have a grudge against the Foster family?"

Clara Bennett smiled and replied, "Of course, how could I not? Samuel Grant is from the Foster family."

William Foster responded, "I guess I shouldn’t have asked. Don’t worry, I also have plenty of foes in the Foster family, and I certainly won’t help any of them against you."

Clara Bennett asked, "Really?"

William Foster nodded, "Of course, our marriage should prioritize each other’s interests."

This statement made Clara Bennett feel quite at ease.

Clara Bennett smiled and said, "For the sake of what you just said, the marriage is settled. We’ll discuss the wedding arrangements in detail the day after tomorrow, for now, I’ll take my leave."

With that, Clara Bennett turned to leave.

At this moment, William Foster spoke up, "You’re going to see Samuel Grant, right?"

Clara Bennett laughed, "Hmm, are you jealous?"

William Foster replied, "A little. I’ve had some great food prepared, and now you say you’re going to see him. Can’t I be a bit jealous?"

Clara Bennett countered, "Don’t you remember? What about that little red mark?"

William Foster was momentarily stunned until he recalled the kiss mark he left earlier and then burst into laughter.

Before opening the bedroom door, Clara Bennett turned to look at him, "I took a closer look myself earlier, and that red mark is quite unique. I’ll let Samuel Grant have a good look at it."

Saying that, Clara Bennett walked out, while William Foster sighed at her retreating figure.

This lady is truly a master of flirtation.

Removing his glasses and placing them on the bed, he then called for Arthur Davis.

As Clara Bennett was about to drive away, Arthur Davis hurried over.

Clara Bennett asked, "Did something happen? Or did William Foster have something to say?"

Although Arthur Davis looked refined and not fierce, he was William Foster’s subordinate, but didn’t quite resemble the traditional bodyguard.

Arthur Davis handed over two bouquets of white roses, each held in separate hands.

One bouquet had a gun hidden among the flowers, while the other concealed a dagger.

Clara Bennett: "..."

Clara Bennett asked in confusion, "What’s this for? He just agreed to marry me and wants to become a widower?"

Arthur Davis, with a glint in his eyes, said, "Boss Foster said that if Samuel Grant dares to harm you, Young Madam, don’t hesitate to choose a weapon to use. If anything happens, we will take care of it."

Clara Bennett: "..."

Only then did she realize that she had indeed misunderstood this man, who, when serious, actually seemed quite threatening.

Clara Bennett knew she might not need these things at all, yet she still took out one of the short knives and made a few striking gestures, saying, "These little gadgets are quite handy."

Arthur Davis was visibly surprised, "It appears that Young Madam knows a bit."

Clara Bennett blinked and denied, "It’s not like that. I just copied some moves from my brother. Just tell him not to worry; Samuel Grant wouldn’t dare do anything to me."

After saying that, Clara Bennett directly got into the car.

The car had just started when it was blocked by another vehicle.

Samuel Grant jumped out of the other vehicle, filled with anger.

Clara Bennett raised an eyebrow at the scene before her.

This guy seemed really eager to see her. Originally, she thought he’d be waiting right at her doorstep.

Samuel Grant stopped his car right in front of Clara Bennett’s car, then got out and walked over, hitting Clara Bennett’s car hood hard, "Clara, get out of the car!"

His voice carried an undeniable forcefulness.

Samuel Grant’s eyes were filled with hostility, his face brimming with anger, making him look like a dog about to go mad, fierce and irritable.

His gaze seemed capable of igniting everything.

Clara Bennett silently mused that the Foster family members seemed to have a unique kind of madness.

Just like William Foster, although he appeared refined and handsome on the surface, he could arrange for Samuel Grant to act like a dog and even provided her with weapons to deal with Samuel Grant.

Clara Bennett thought that William Foster might have done this to boost her courage, after all, his own life within the Foster family wasn’t that great either.

But this kind of madness had a certain peculiar charm.

For Clara Bennett, this seemingly absurd yet resolute madness of William Foster’s was fascinating to her.

For example, earlier, the white roses actually had a gun and knife hidden inside, which was simply thrilling.

Even though—she actually didn’t much like white roses.

Clara Bennett was puzzled as to why the Foster family had such a penchant for white roses.

Could it be that white roses held some special meaning for the Foster family?

Otherwise, why would they be so fond of giving people white roses?

Clara Bennett found that William Foster’s sort of craziness matched her taste perfectly.

After being reborn once, she was also determined to follow this madness to the end.

In contrast, Samuel Grant’s almost out-of-control state seemed devoid of any sense of beauty, completely like a barking mad dog, both ugly and ridiculous.

Facing Samuel Grant’s provocation, Clara Bennett merely snorted disdainfully, pushed open the car door, and stepped out.

She gently straightened the light green scarf on her shoulders, its soft texture gently covering her round shoulders.

Unfortunately, the new clothes William Foster had prepared for her were a strapless dress, which made the conspicuous marks on her neck even more visible.

Even from this distance and angle, Samuel Grant could see them clearly.

Clara Bennett casually flicked her hair and, ignoring Samuel Grant’s gaze, said coldly, "Are you in such a hurry to give me a check? You even came here to wait for me. But let me make it clear, I didn’t bring that piece of evidence with me; you’ll have to come to my house for it."

Samuel Grant’s face was dark, his eyes almost freezing the air with the anger they emitted: "Clara, don’t you find yourself disgraceful? Just in a few days, you’ve frivolously hooked up with my uncle. Simply incomprehensible!"
