Chapter 28- Special Services
Chapter 28: 28- Special Services
Aurora/Phoenix:
I blew on the spoonful of soup before offering it to Jai. He was sitting up against the pillows, in a fresh hospital gown, after a shower that he had taken with the help of the staff.
"Careful. It’s hot," I warned him.
He leaned forward, sipping it slowly, "Not hotter than you," he said with a wink, "By the way, when did you get these superpowers to heal someone, or was it the first time?"
I rolled my eyes, scooping up more soup, "And since when did you start cold wars with Alpha Blake and Brian? That was so awkward."
He chuckled low, "Touché."
I spread my lips into a fake smile and pushed the spoon into his mouth.
"You never asked me what happened to my face," I remarked quietly, staring at the bowl for a second before glancing up.
The question had been bugging me ever since he started treating my face with worms. And now the same question had wiped the smile off his face.
He looked down, then stretched his jaw like he needed to buy time, "I don’t know," he said eventually no more making eye contact, "Maybe..." his eyes at last found me again, "maybe I wanted to give you space... or maybe..." he trailed off his eyes darker than before, "Maybe I’m scared of my beast. He wants to kill the guy who did this to you."
"Oh," I tried to laugh it off, but he remained serious.
"What?" he asked, raising a brow, "You don’t think I can fight? If you remember, I gave up my beta position willingly to be a doctor. I never skipped those training grounds, Phoenix."
I smirked and started stirring the soup, "Nah. I just thought you were a lecture thrower than a punch thrower."
"You’re enjoying this, huh?" he pinched my nose tip affectionately, "I’m going to ask that cute nurse to shift me to solids so that I don’t have to eat your thick chunky soup."
He then suddenly seemed hesitant.
"What?" I asked him in confusion.
"Umm. Phoenix..."
"Yeah. Shoot it, Doctor. What is it?"
"H...How do you...I mean... how do you take care of your needs..." he swiped his tongue over his lips.
"Needs?" I muttered under my breath in confusion, "What..."
And then it dawned on me.
He was inquiring about my se*xual needs.
Goddess! What is he thinking?
"Why?" I scrunched my nose, "Are you offering your services?" he smirked at that. Maybe he wasn’t expecting me to ask this so boldly.
"No," he shook his head with a gentle smile, "Not that I don’t want to. I can happily do it if you let me. But I ordered something for you."
His eyes searched for something on his side table. I quickly got up and picked up a parcel. "Are you looking for this?"
Yeah," he nodded, "Go ahead. Open it."
With a frown, I opened it and took out the small tool that was long and had a switch, "It seems like it’s battery operated..." Without thinking, I switched it on and it started vibrating.
"Holy shit!" I dropped it on the floor in panic. Instead of picking it up, I reached for the other pillow on the bed and started hitting him with it.
"Ouch! Ouch! Phoenix! Sorry!" but I didn’t listen and kept hitting him.
"You sicko dick-head," I wasn’t stopping until he held my hands.
I was panting and was sure my face was red in embarrassment, "Hey, Phoenix..." his voice was soft, too soft, "Remember? I’m your friend, silly," he tried to look into my eyes, but I wanted to exit the room, "Take it home. Use it. There is nothing to be embarrassed."
He slowly let go of my hands.
"I... I just got a mind link from Alpha Blake. He wants to talk to you." I nodded and we fist-bumped. I picked up the parcel and switched it off.
The whizzing sound died down, leaving Jai and me in a hilariously awkward silence.
Standing there with an offensive parcel in my hand, I tucked my hair behind my ear and then fixed my mask over my face.
"Phoenix!" his amused voice reached my ears.
"Hmm?" I didn’t have enough courage to meet his gaze.
"Alpha Blake..."
"Sorry?"
"I said..." he moved ahead a little, "Alpha Blake... he wants to meet you."
I rolled my lips between my teeth and turned on my heels to leave the room. Once the door closed behind me, I heard his laughter outside the room, which he was trying to control.
"Asshole," I said under my breath and walked away, holding the gift tightly to my chest.

"I’m so sorry, Phoenix," When I entered Alpha Blake’s office, I was pulled into that bear hug. Before I could utter something, Alpha stepped back, letting me see the guilty look on his face.
"Alpha..."
"No. I should have trusted you. Jai is an asset to me and my pack. But so are you, Phoenix. Sorry for being a jerk that day."
I smiled awkwardly, adjusting the parcel in my hand, "You’re lucky, Alpha. Holding grudges is something I never liked."
Alpha Blake let out a quiet laugh, "You’ve always been the tough one, Phoenix. I admire you for what you have become," he held me by my shoulders, "I’m sorry for being rude that day."
"Hey," I held his wrists, "It’s okay. You were angry, and you were just trying to protect your pack."
This time, I got closer to him and embraced him, letting the parcel fall to the floor, "I’ve always thought of you as my elder brother, Alpha."
I smiled when he tightened his grip. And that’s exactly when the door opened. Holding a clipboard, Luna Raya walked in— and froze.
Her eyes darted from the hug... to the parcel I accidentally dropped to the floor. The torn parcel revealed the dildo, Jai gave me.
Wow! Perfect timing. I thought to myself.
"Oh, Moon Goddess..." I whispered to myself.
Luna Raya’s expression was unreadable. Her gaze dropped to the dildo and then lifted sharply to meet mine.
"I didn’t know I was interrupting such an important meeting..." She motioned to the parcel, "Are you two offering special services to each other?"
Wait! What? Was she crazy?
