Chapter 44
Chapter 44: 44
Mo Junhua burst into laughter. He didn’t even know what was wrong with himself, but he just couldn’t stand being ignored by her. Those indifferent looks she gave him, as if he was a stranger, really annoyed him.
When he didn’t see her, it was alright, but once he did, even if it angered her and made her roll her eyes at him, he felt as if he had eaten an ice cream, feeling a refreshing comfort from head to toe. It was a strange feeling, and Mo Junhua even thought he was a bit twisted.
The sun was shining brightly, a cool breeze was blowing, the riverside vegetation was lush, and the distant mountains continued unbroken, resembling a flying dragon. The babbling stream, like a mischievous sprite, flipped water droplets towards the distance. The sparkling water surface, the colorful stones at the bottom, and the small unknown flowers blooming on the grass fluttered in the wind.
Such a beautiful moment and scenery, truly a perfect spot for a date.
Unfortunately, one was six and the other fifteen. No matter if it was their age or height, both were hard limitations, making a date impossible!
Lan Tian sat under the willow tree, looking at Mo Junhua across from her. Seeing him staring straight at her, but his mind seemed to be elsewhere, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes again.
Bringing her to the riverside without talking, what was he trying to do?
Luckily, the willow tree was very robust, with thousands of branches that hung down like a bead curtain, covering a large area and shielding them from the outside sunlight. It was very cool sitting under the tree, otherwise, she would have already left Mo Junhua and gone back.
"I’m leaving if there’s nothing else."
After sitting for a while, with Mo Junhua still lost in his thoughts across from her, Lan Tian stood up to leave, feeling no obligation to accompany him in his daydreaming. Mo Junhua, still in his reverie, instinctively grabbed and picked her up, and the two sat back under the willow tree, with Lan Tian ending up in his lap.
It was sticky and uncomfortable in the hot weather, especially with someone she generally ignored. Lan Tian felt extremely uneasy. Mo Junhua’s body temperature was so high it could burn someone, and Lan Tian felt like she was about to melt. She tried to clamber down from his arms.
Mo Junhua held Lan Tian with his arms, neither too tightly to cause discomfort nor too loosely to let her escape.
"I’m hot," Lan Tian protested, as sweat beads formed on her forehead and she pouted.
"In a few days, I have to leave." Mo Junhua’s tone was full of regret. He glanced at the heartless person in front of him, rub and massaged Lan Tian’s head vigorously, not satisfied, he even pinched her face.
The soft cheeks showed two shallow red marks, like peach blossoms blooming in March, extremely endearing. Mo Junhua felt his heart flutter and could not help but bite her.
Lan Tian trembled from his bite, pushed Mo Junhua away with one hand, her face feeling wet and disgusting. She furiously wiped her face, rubbing the saliva on Mo Junhua’s clothes while glaring at him angrily, "If you’re leaving, just leave. It’s not like you don’t know the way."
Lan Tian was angry enough to stomp her feet. His leaving had nothing to do with her; dragging her into his endless nagging was annoying. She never saw him behave this way in her past life, sticking like a white water lotus.
"You’re sick, right? Did you take the wrong medicine? Big freak!"
Small in size, venomous in mouth, her words could anger even a dead person to death. Mo Junhua felt indeed twisted, seeing the shallow teeth marks on her baby-face, he bit down on the other cheek too.
Lan Tian’s protest was futile, and she gave up. This man, as overbearing as he was in her previous life, even though he had Bai Lianhua, he preferred to keep her confined in a big house and never thought about letting her go.
Later, it was still Bai Lianhua, the mistress, who tried to take her place and drove her out. Being the original wife to that extent was really a disgrace to all wives around the world. Thinking about those messed-up things made Lan Tian furious, and everything about him looked wrong to her.
One word, scum; two words, very scummy; three words, ridiculously scummy—no one on earth was worse than him. Though it was more than three words, who cares, he was just scummy.
Mo Junhua looked at Lan Tian melancholically, "You’re still young, you won’t understand even if I tell you. Of course, I don’t understand myself what to say to you. It seems if I don’t say it, I’ll regret it later."
Hearing this, Lan Tian rolled her eyes again, ’Then you better not tell me! It’s better to regret it, sister loves to see you regret as if wishing you were dead.’
"This time after I leave, I don’t know when I’ll be back. Maybe the moment I leave, you’ll forget about me. As time passes, you might not even remember what I look like." Mo Junhua was truly worried. The child wasn’t his, if only she were, then he could...
What then? Mo Junhua thought for a long time but couldn’t find a suitable adjective. Regardless, if she became his, naturally he could decide for her.
Lan Tian ridiculed inside her mind, forgetting you is utterly normal.
Considering those scummy things you did to yourself in your past life, not taking revenge on you is already a great favor. You aren’t even kneeling to thank me, yet you hope I remember you. I’m not that cheap; what you are doing for me now is just compensating for the suffering I endured for you in my past life.
"...Study well in the future, hang out less with boys, it’s bad for your reputation. Your future in-laws might mind it. There are many bad people outside, always hold tightly to an adult’s hand when you go out, never let go. Human traffickers love to kidnap pretty children like you. The most important thing is, don’t forget about your brother, okay? When your brother comes back, I’ll bring you tasty and fun things."
He kept talking nonstop; the child was so adorable yet so naive, easily tricked by others. Acting as her brother (an excuse he just thought of on a whim), he had to watch over her closely, instinctively repelling any males that approached her.
"I thought about it and found a good way. To make sure you don’t forget me, I’ll write back and tell you my address. You can write to me once a month, that way, you won’t forget me."
Lan Tian raised an eyebrow and gave him a skeptical look, her eyes full of defiance, "Why should I be the one to write to you? Why not you write to me?"
Mo Junhua smirked cunningly, "Alright, I’ll write to you, one letter a month, but you have to reply to me too. This way, I’ll know whether you’ve grown taller or not. Let’s shake on it."
Lan Tian, still confused by Mo Junhua, was vaguely led by him to shake and make a promise. Mo Junhua got what he wanted and carried Lan Tian back home.
