Chapter 121: 100 (second update, asking for monthly ticket)_3

The few people who arrived first were all quite young, around twenty-something years old, some lounging and reading books, some sleeping. Their eyes lit up when they saw a young man and woman enter; the man was handsome, the woman gorgeous.

Opposite Lan Tian’s middle bunk was a young man who wanted to make small talk with her. He smiled obsequiously but hadn’t yet opened his mouth when he met Mo Junhua’s icy gaze, gave a few embarrassed chuckles, and seeing the footprints on their beds, sheepishly said, "It wasn’t me who stepped there."

Catching sight of the footprints on the bed, Mo Junhua fell silent for a few seconds, turned back to Lan Tian, and said, "Wait for me outside for a bit, I’ll clean this up first, then you can come in. Don’t wander around here, I’m going to fetch some water."

Mo Junhua stuffed several sacks under the bunk, pulled out a towel he brought from his bag, and went off with his teacup to get water.

Lan Tian stood in the aisle, glanced left and right, and seeing it was crowded with people boarding the train, realized standing there was blocking the way, and that it was troublesome to keep moving aside, so she went in, took out some tissue from her bag, and wiped the footprints off the bed.

The young man in the opposite middle bunk, hearing footsteps gradually moving away, climbed up again and looked at Lan Tian, asking, "Hey, comrade, where are you guys headed?"

With no name given, who knew who he was calling, the small compartment was full of people, Lan Tian didn’t think he was calling her, and continued wiping the footprint without paying any attention.

"Comrade, comrade, miss, the miss wiping the footprints."

The miss wiping the footprints?

Lan Tian’s mouth twitched, what an odd nickname, her peripheral vision caught sight that no one was at the opposite bunk, and looking at the paper in her hand, it seemed she was the only one cleaning a footprint.

She turned her head towards the young man on the opposite middle bunk, saw his flamboyantly patterned clothes, felt her eyes dazzle and pointed at herself questioningly, "Are you talking to me?"

The flamboyant young man grinned, "Exactly, to you. Where are you headed?"

"Shanghai."

Lan Tian’s expression was indifferent, she looked around above her, so many people, yet why did this guy have to strike up a conversation with her? Did her face read ’I’m nice, easy-going, approachable’?

The tissue in her hand, after a few wipes, turned black, she casually threw it out of the window, took out a clean sheet, and wiped again. Once she felt the bunk wasn’t that dirty, she finally sat down.

The few people above sitting or leaning showed indifferent expressions but were actually listening to their conversation.

"What a coincidence, I’m also heading to Shanghai. Is that soldier who just left your brother?"

Lan Tian pursed her lips and smiled, neither confirming nor denying. There was a significant age difference between the two, most people assumed they were siblings rather than a couple.

Seeing Lan Tian smile, the young man thought he had guessed correctly that they were siblings; his smile brightened a bit, and he was about to ask for her name when he spotted someone’s ’brother’ returning in the aisle, winked at Lan Tian, and lay back down on his bed.

Following his gaze towards the door, Lan Tian saw Mo Junhua returning with the water, no wonder the young man had stopped talking.

Mo Junhua entered, said nothing, just glanced over where Lan Tian was sitting.

Seeing the cup and towel in his hand, Lan Tian thought for a moment, stood up, and said, "The aisle is crowded with people carrying things and looking for beds, I was in their way, it was quite a bother moving aside. I cleaned the bed with tissue before I sat down."

Mo Junhua’s mouth curled up slightly, Lan Tian was explaining to him, although he actually wasn’t concerned about it.

No need to wipe the bed anymore, the water still had a use. Filling the cup with warm water, he handed the damp towel to Lan Tian and said, "Wipe your face and hands."

Having taken a bullock cart and a car, mixed among a crowd, there were all sorts of smells, Lan Tian didn’t say anything, but she did feel a little uncomfortable.

When traveling, many things weren’t convenient, even if you wanted to be particular about them, you couldn’t be. So, Lan Tian just had to endure. When circumstances allowed, Lan Tian tried to make things as comfortable as possible for herself, like when someone fetched water for her to wash her face, Lan Tian used it.

After wiping her face, Lan Tian handed the towel back to Mo Junhua, who took it and, without cleaning it, wiped his own face and hands. At home, the two often shared a towel and basin to wash their face, which Lan Tian was accustomed to, but the other people in their bunks watched their interactions with widened eyes, finding it incomprehensible.

Their relationship seemed not so simple!

"Junhua, you’re here too."

Having wiped her face, Lan Tian leaned back against the blankets, gazing out the window. She suddenly heard a woman calling Mo Junhua, her voice overly sweet and touched with surprise. Lan Tian knew all too well who it was; aside from Bai Lianhua, who else could it be?
