Chapter 778: Chapter 777 Reluctantly Agree
Looking at Wang Yongzhu again, he added, "You discovered these tea leaves and you named them, truly a remarkable achievement! A mere ten percent profit share is too little. How about this, I’ll make it clear in the contract, you’ll take a twenty percent share, transferred from the Lee Family’s portion!"
Zhang Yinbao had no objections, and as for Shopkeeper Wu, his lips quivered twice, but he ultimately said nothing.
Wang Yongzhu wanted to refuse, but Ninth Master Lee was not the sort of man whose decisions could be questioned. Once he made up his mind, even if he were wrong, he was the kind of person who would stubbornly stick to his guns.
What’s more, he believed he wasn’t wrong in offering such an amount of money!
If the quality is the bone of the tea, then a good name is the flesh. Both are indispensable!
With Ninth Master Lee’s decisive generosity, Zhang Yinbao wanted to show some gratitude, but the share of this tea business was too precious and he was eager to maintain a connection with the Lee Family. He couldn’t bear to part with it.
In his mind, he thought about how Wang Yongzhu liked real silver. Tomorrow, he would send her a case of it.
After finishing the business talk, Zhang Yinbao still had the tea forest on his mind and wanted to see it with his own eyes. He asked Wang Yongzhu in a low voice, "Lady Wang, is Yingzi Gully far from here? Can we make it there today?"
Wang Yongzhu also wanted to rush over to bring the good news to the hunters in Yingzi Gully and to look for a couple of tea branches that could be used for cuttings, hoping to see if the Superior Cultivation Room could produce more from these branches.
She nodded immediately, "If we leave now, we can make it before nightfall! I’m actually heading to Yingzi Gully myself, so we can go together."
As she spoke, she got ready to take her leave.
Ninth Master Lee snorted, "The mountain is high and the road is long. Isn’t it too arduous for a woman? If there’s anything, why not let Boss Zhang take care of it? Surely he wouldn’t refuse to help, would he?"
His gaze then swept toward Zhang Yinbao.
Zhang Yinbao shivered, "Ninth Young Master is right! The mountain path is rugged and difficult. I’ll just have Old Guan lead the way! No point in a girl with soft skin suffering the hardship!"
No matter what Ninth Master Lee meant, it was certainly right to agree with him.
Ninth Master Lee looked at Zhang Yinbao with approval. Despite Zhang’s less-than-impressive appearance, he did possess tact.
Zhang Yinbao felt light as a feather under Ninth Master Lee’s gaze, which held a tinge of commendation.
Wang Yongzhu couldn’t care less and said flatly, "Then I’ll take my leave! I was unable to properly entertain Ninth Young Master this time, but once I am in Jing County, I will surely invite Ninth Young Master for a gathering! I hope Ninth Young Master will grace us with his presence then!"
Ninth Master Lee’s face stiffened, his expression disdainful. "I am very busy! Every day I am occupied with endless matters. How can I have the time to wait for your meal? Besides, what good food can this wretched place of Jing County even offer?"
Wang Yongzhu was about to retort, "Then forget it, it’ll save me the cost of a meal! What’s there to fuss about?"
However, Ninth Master Lee’s tone changed, "Nevertheless, since you invite me with such sincerity, I suppose I can reluctantly accept. When will you be in Jing County? I’ll need to clear my schedule in advance!"
Wang Yongzhu...
I call your bluff!
Shopkeeper Wu had an indescribable look on his face, lowering his head to avoid Wang Yongzhu’s gaze.
Oh my goodness, my dear ancestor! Please remember you are Ninth Young Master of the Lee Family, would you? You just said you didn’t care for an invitation, and now you’re rushing them to set a date!
Ninth Young Master, could you at least spare some dignity for the Lee Family?
Only Wang Cai appeared calm, fully aware of his young master’s nature to often mean the opposite of what he said!
After Ninth Master Lee finished speaking, he noticed Wang Yongzhu’s complicated expression and immediately became unhappy. "What? You don’t want to invite me after all?"
Wang Yongzhu shook her head with difficulty, "Not at all! I do want to invite! Once I reach Jing County, I will discuss with my husband and notify Ninth Young Master of the date immediately!"
Ninth Master Lee’s face turned even darker and he flung his hand, "Invite me or not, I am no longer interested!"
He turned and strode towards the exit, ordering as he walked, "Wang Cai, prepare the horse! We’re leaving! I’ve been stuck in this poor backwater for too long, who knows how much I’ve missed out on!"
Wang Cai gave an affirmative response and hurriedly caught up.
Shopkeeper Wu also uttered an apology and followed behind.
The room was left with only Wang Yongzhu and Zhang Yinbao.
The people with them had stayed downstairs without coming up.
Zhang Yinbao coughed softly and asked in a low voice, "Lady Wang, about Ninth Young Master’s temper—"
Had he appeared angry just now?
Wang Yongzhu was very composed, "What about Ninth Young Master’s temper?"
Zhang Yinbao immediately switched topics cleverly, "Shall we head to Yingzi Gully now?"
As he spoke, he called out from upstairs, and soon a shop assistant ran up. After receiving Zhang Yinbao’s instructions, he immediately went to prepare.
After a short while, Shopkeeper Wu hurried in, "Lady Wang, our Ninth Young Master is leaving, would you like to see him off?"
Wang Yongzhu remained silent, just looking at Shopkeeper Wu, making him shift uneasily in his seat.
Although Zhang Yinbao didn’t know what was going on, he sensed the awkward atmosphere in the room and hastily covered it up with laughter, "Of course we must see him off! If Lady Wang finds it inconvenient, may I have the honor of doing so?"
With a wry smile, Shopkeeper Wu allowed himself to be dragged downstairs by Zhang Yinbao.
Wang Yongzhu calmly sat down and drank two cups of tea, listening to the commotion below.
It seemed Shopkeeper Wu said something, then mentioned that Zhang Yinbao would accompany the departure.
Then they heard Ninth Master Lee arrogantly spit out a word, "Go—" followed by the sound of horse hooves and the rolling of carriage wheels fading into the distance.
It was quite a while before Zhang Yinbao returned upstairs. His expression unchanged, he didn’t mention anything that had just happened downstairs, and said instead, "Lady Wang, would you like to go back and pack your luggage? The carriage on my side is already prepared."
Only then did Wang Yongzhu stand up, "Wait for me for a moment, I will come once I have packed."
Zhang Yinbao hastily gave instructions to have one of the carriages take Wang Yongzhu to her small courtyard to pack, and then he slowly made his way back, delivering a series of commands that were quickly passed all around.
When Wang Yongzhu came down the stairs, there was no one at the entrance of the tavern anymore.
She returned to the small courtyard where she was temporarily staying, having only cleaned a bedroom and a kitchen.
In her haste when she left, she bought some clothes to change into from a ready-to-wear clothing store.
There were not many, just a few garments aside from those, and a large and small pile of gifts that Zhang Yinbao had sent over that morning.
Wang Yongzhu briefly opened and checked them, finding besides several precious medicinal herbs, there were also some seeds and tubers that she didn’t quite understand.
The most valuable and expensive treasure was a box of gemstones!
The moment she opened the box, Wang Yongzhu nearly held her breath!
A box full of colored gemstones was packed haphazardly inside, including thumb-sized Pigeon’s Blood Rubies and Cornflower Blue Sapphires, shimmering blue.
And there were pools of water-like Emerald Gemstones, large and small, intermingling and radiating brilliance inside the box!
With the eyes and experience from her previous life, Wang Yongzhu knew that these gemstones were all of fine quality. Although some of the gemstones were not large, their color was pure and they truly were top-grade.
This box of gemstones, she feared, must be worth quite a lot of silver.
