"Today, I came to invite you and mother and everyone to a meal as a way to show my attitude. After this meal, we’re done for good! You all go back to Qilidun, and whether I live or die, it’s none of your concern anymore!"

"You—" Wang Laozhu was so angry that his hands shook, and it took him a long while to bitterly say, "Fine! I’ll treat it as if I never bore you, you beast!"

With that, he turned to leave.

Wang Yongan knelt before his father, refusing to let go and pleaded, "Dad, after today’s farewell, who knows if we’ll ever have the chance to meet again! Your son has been unfilial; please allow me to offer you one last drink and a meal to express my filial piety."

As he spoke, he kowtowed three times with loud thuds to Wang Laozhu and Old Granny Zhang.

Wang Laozhu gave Wang Yongan a look, said nothing, and slowly walked back to the table to sit down, tacitly consenting to the proposal.

Watching Old Granny Zhang, Wang Yonggui, and Wang Yongping begin to sway, she hurriedly pretended to be dizzy too, rubbing her forehead with her hand, squinting her eyes, and soon after, followed by collapsing onto the table after them.

Upon seeing Wang Yongzhu slumped over the table, Wang Yongan was overjoyed.

Seeing Wang Yongzhu unresponsive, he gave her a push and saw her body slump limply, almost falling to the ground.
