After pushing a few more times without success, Wang Yonggui became angry, "I say Ahfu, enough is enough! Do you even know who you are? Does it escape your awareness how many men in Jing County have taken advantage of you, have touched you, yet my eldest brother can’t touch you once? You think you’re some noble lady? Pah! You’re nothing but a widow who’s been involved with who knows how many men, and now you want to take on my Wang Laosan?"

"Giving you face in the past, and now you really think you’re somebody? I’m not disgusted that you’ve been with so many men, and even bringing you home was charity, and yet you still want more? Do you think you can turn the world upside down?"

"Open the door quietly, or else, don’t blame me, Wang Laosan, for being ruthless. I’ll sell you off to the deep mountains for those mountain men who can’t afford a wife!"

With those words, he pushed the door again, and it creaked open.

Wang Yonggui, with his head down, rushed inside, only to see a shadow about the same height as himself.

Startled, he quickly realized, "You—"

Before he could finish, a sudden sharp pain struck the back of his head, and he passed out.

Lady Sun, holding a door bolt in her hand and fury in her eyes, saw Wang Yonggui lying on the ground, unmoving. Still angry, she kicked him several times.

The shadow stopped her, "Enough, why bother with these country bumpkins? Let’s just take the goods and go quickly, Boss Tian is waiting for us at the entrance of the village."

Lady Sun, huffing with anger, dropped the door bolt and reached for her vanity case.

"What time is it now, and you still want these things? Boss Tian can compensate you for whatever you want!" The shadow, very impatient, kept a wary eye on the outside.

"What do you know—" Lady Sun pulled out all the silver notes from inside the case, then dug out a paper package from the bottom compartment.

"Pour this into the well." Lady Sun thrust the paper package at the shadow.

"What’s this?" asked the shadow.

"Rat Poison!" Lady Sun sneered.

"No way, Boss Tian only wants the recipe; he didn’t say anything about taking lives!" The shadow hurriedly tossed the paper package back to Lady Sun upon hearing this.

Lady Sun blinked, "I was just blowing off steam, can’t you tell? This is croton! These past days, I’ve been tormented by these people. Now that I’m leaving, I want to put some croton in and make them suffer from diarrhea—it will be my way of getting even."

The shadow remained half-convinced, "It’s getting late, we should really get going. Let’s not create extra trouble."

Lady Sun, fuming, yanked the door open, "If you won’t go, I’ll do it myself—"

Outside the door, Wang Yongzhu stood at the entrance, "To do what, poison? Do you need me to see you off?"

As she spoke, she grabbed Lady Sun, twisted her arm behind her back, and pinned her to the ground.

Seeing that the situation was bad, the shadow pushed the door and pointed his toes, intending to run outside.

However, while still midair, his ankle throbbed with pain, and he tumbled down, crashing heavily to the ground.

Lights from different rooms of the Wang Family gradually illuminated, and doors creaked open, brightening the courtyard.

"What’s going on?" Everyone was confused as they saw Lady Sun being pinned to the ground, and Song Chongjin, who had apparently just returned home, now suddenly appeared in their courtyard with an unfamiliar man he was holding up by the arm.

Song Chongjin immobilized both the man and Lady Sun with acupoint strikes, nodded at Wang Yongzhu, and let out a whistle.

Before long, a whistle signal in response was heard from the direction of the village entrance.

Song Chongjin gave Wang Yongzhu a meaningful look.

When Lady Jiang heard this, she was stunned, her hold on Wang Yonggui loosened, and it seemed like she could cry no more.
