Chapter 93: 93 - Tempest secret realm (07)
"What do you think you’re looking at, peasant?" Young Master Shen growled, taking Qingyi’s attention away from Qing Ruyan.
’Ah... should I finish off this bum now?" Qingyi asked himself, but when he looked at Qing Ruyan again, he decided that it wouldn’t be a good idea.
He had the confidence to deal with Young Master Shen, but if Qing Ruyan entered the fray, he would probably be defeated.
They weren’t like those mediocre experts he had faced on the second floor.
"I beg young master Shen’s pardon," Qingyi bowed his head as he clenched his fists respectfully.
"This is just a humble cultivator who ended up here by luck and doesn’t have the power to leave on his own."
"Humpf." Young Master Shen snorted at those words.
Noticing Qingyi’s cultivation, he focused his attention back on the gate in front of him.
"Wait in a corner and don’t get in the way. My guards will escort you back after we’ve finished."
Regardless of how bad his personality was, Young Master Shen was still an orthodox cultivator.
Since Qingyi seemed to know his place, he paid no further attention to him.
The covered beauty, on the other hand, didn’t seem to care much about the two of them, sipping her tea calmly as she watched Young Master Shen’s attempts.
Beneath the veil, Qingyi could see beautiful blue eyes twinkling slightly as she watched the gate.
Turning away, Qingyi also focused her vision on the gate, activating her draconic eyes.
It was... strange.
Everything in that world had Qi, some in high density, some in low, but nothing was truly without Qi.
That gate was no different, covered in an extremely dense and repressed Qi, without a single drop leaking from its interior.
But this Qi was peculiar.
Qi usually organized itself chaotically, flowing like waves on a sea, but in this gate, the Qi was different, made of thousands of perfectly aligned lines with spaces equivalent to the sharpness of a blade separating them.
He looked at young master Shen, attacking desperately, putting more and more force into his movements.
The ground cracked and the gate shook, but nothing happened, just more and more clumsy cuts piling up.
"Young master Shen..."
Qingyi heard a voice that immediately snapped him out of his stupor.
It was feminine, gentle and soft, like a refreshing, light breeze on a sunny day.
Turning his gaze, he saw Ruyan’s figure rise elegantly, the veil falling over the rest of her face, again completely concealing what little of her beauty was visible.
"May I?" She asked sweetly and, with a gentle gesture, her tea disappeared into its spatial ring.
"Oh... of course!" Young Master Shen paused for a moment before stepping back, his eyes shining as he watched Ruyan’s figure, as if trying to see through her veil.
It was a pity that her father had insisted that she cover herself completely before coming to this place.
Ruyan ignored that lookm she was used to it.
Her long, delicate fingers left the protection of her robes for a brief moment, grasping the handle of her sword.
It was clearly a spirit sword, and an expensive one at that.
A sharp hiss echoed as the steel slid out of the scabbard, revealing a bluish-silver single-edged blade, its handle covered in elegant jewels.
"Ah..." A sweet, long sigh escaped her lips as she readied her sword.
The next moment, she attacked.
Her blow had only a fraction of the power of Young Master Shen’s attacks, a slow, elegant swing, more suited to a dance than a real attack.
But the moment it found the gate, the blade sliced through it like butter.
A crash echoed as the two sides of the gate parted, revealing the passage covered in thunderclouds.
Without hesitation, she stepped forward, her body disappearing into the mist.
"Wait!" Young Master Shen ran right behind, but couldn’t help stopping at the last moment, casting a murderous glance in Qingyi’s direction. NovelFire
"Don’t you dare follow us!" he growled before also entering the passageway.
Qingyi shook his head, walking towards the other gate.
He could simply follow the same path as young master Shen, but he also wanted to try out his theory.
He drew his sword and activated his draconic eyes, studying the lines for a brief moment before attacking, aiming for the space between them.
With his vision technique, it wasn’t too difficult.
To his surprise, he felt no resistance as his sword sank into the gate. It seemed like it was cutting through the air.
The gate opened, revealing a passage covered in thunderclouds.
Qingyi didn’t think long before entering the blanket of clouds, the space around him distorting before he finally appeared on the other side.
That was the fourth floor, the last one before he could finally meet the lightning spirit.
He was anxious, but he didn’t let it show, observing his surroundings.
To call that place a simple room was a huge understatement.
It was easily hundreds of meters, with a floor, walls and ceiling made of black, uneven stones.
"You bastard, I ordered you not to follow us!" Qingyi heard the roar of Young Master Shen, whose sword was already in his fists.
Qingyi had disobeyed his orders, the punishment for which was nothing but death.
"Die!" He attacked, his sword covered in a powerful lightning aura as it flowed towards Qingyi.
Qingyi barely paid attention to the attack, using the first form of the Tempest Monarch’s sword art.
"What?" Young Master Shen’s eyes filled with shock as his sword collided with Qingyi’s attack.
He had expected to be able to deal with it easily, but he felt his arms give way in the next moment, his feet being ripped from the ground as he was thrown to the opposite side.
His body hit the wall with a loud explosion, sinking into the stone.
"I’m sorry, but I have a great interest in this lightning spirit and I won’t share it. So I’ll ask you to leave," Qingyi didn’t hold back, revealing his full aura and murderous intent.
