Chapter 73: Chapter 73 Mom, I Want to Go to School

Qin Yan gasped sharply, feeling dizzy for a moment, completely unprepared for Qin Yinyin to seriously injure little fatty by breaking his bone.

She licked her lips and, upon looking down, faced Qin Yinyin’s big, tearful eyes.

"Mommy, I want to go to school."

Just six words kept Qin Yan from voicing all her reproaches.

Hesitant, Qin Yan said, "Why don’t you play by yourself for a while, sweetie? Mommy is going to call your teacher!"

Qin Yinyin’s eyes lit up, and she cheered before rushing to her room.

Dad was right, Mommy wouldn’t let her miss school!

Once Qin Yinyin had left, Qin Yan pinched the bridge of her nose; she had thought of making something to eat, but the news from Qin Yinyin had dissipate her appetite completely.

After sitting in the living room for a while, Qin Yan felt a surge of energy and retrieved her cellphone from her bag.

It had been too long, and her cellphone had shut down automatically because of a drained battery.

Just as Qin Yan had plugged in the charger and turned it on, a string of missed calls and unread messages appeared, causing her high-performance cellphone to freeze momentarily.

Once her cellphone was responsive again, Qin Yan glanced at it, noting over ninety calls, mostly from Lu Yi and Lu Xiang.

The barrage of messages was from Lu Yi and Lu Xiang too, occasionally interspersed with a few messages from colleagues asking where she had been.

Licking her lips, Qin Yan sent a message to both Lu Yi and Lu Xiang then dialed Teacher Li’s number for Qin Yinyin.

After waiting awhile, the call was connected.

With dry lips, Qin Yan spoke softly, "Hello Teacher Li, this is Yinyin’s mother."

The person on the line, upon hearing her, adopted a sarcastic tone, "Oh, Qin Yinyin’s mother, is it?"

Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Qin Yan gave an awkward reply, "I’m sorry, teacher, I’m aware of the situation at school and apologize for the trouble. I’m really sorry!"

"Don’t, I can’t accept your apologies. Your daughter, so young yet so heavy-handed, even tried to lash out at me at the police station yesterday! How could I continue to teach such a student?" Teacher Li’s voice still carried anger, "And you, the parent, not picking up after so many calls, what, don’t want your daughter anymore?"

With little fatty ending up with a broken leg from her child, despite Teacher Li’s harsh words, Qin Yan continued gently, "I’m so sorry, I truly am sorry."

"Your daughter is too unruly; I can’t handle her anymore. You weren’t reachable, and even calls to her father went unheeded. What exactly is going on with you two?"

Qin Yan’s face paled as she explained, "Actually, the call that day was answered by Yinyin’s father’s secretary, he was occupied at the time..."

"Oh, too busy to even care about his child? Moreover, who knows if you’re telling the truth, how many parents wouldn’t rush over on learning their child was involved in an accident? Could it be that Yinyin isn’t really his biological child?"

Teacher Li sneered mockingly, "This incident has had a terrible impact, the other child’s parents have made a big fuss and even the principal has had to get involved, I can’t decide anything on my own, you should negotiate with the injured child’s parents."

Disputes among kindergartners are common but when it results in a fracture like what happened between Qin Yinyin and little fatty, it implicates the kindergarten teachers’ responsibility.

But such responsibility, Teacher Li felt unable to take on.

Since little fatty’s parents were focused on causing trouble for Qin Yinyin’s parents and seemed uninterested in involving her, why would she make things worse for herself?

Through her time at Bo Group, Qin Yan had come to understand the thoughts of teachers.

She was not trying to evade responsibility and knew a negotiation was essential. However, what worried Qin Yan most was Qin Yinyin’s ongoing schooling.

"Teacher Li, I’ll call the other parents soon, but still, children do have conflicts, and we are willing to take responsibility, so I hope Yinyin can continue to attend school normally starting Monday."

Upon hearing this, Teacher Li snorted coldly, "If your negotiations are unproblematic, then Qin Yinyin can surely continue school. But Ms. Qin, young children need safety above all in kindergarten. If the other parents aren’t satisfied, there’s nothing I can do!"

With that, Teacher Li hung up the phone.

Qin Yan’s head spun—did that mean if the other parents refuse to forgive Yinyin, then Yinyin can’t continue her schooling?

She massaged her temples. Qin Yinyin’s kindergarten, carefully chosen by Qin Yan for its proximity to Bo Group and its top-tier status, would be hard to replace.

Shifting Qin Yinyin to another school not only posed logistical issues but also adaptation challenges for Qin Yinyin.

Previously, Qin Yan had encountered little fatty’s mother; she was known for being aggressive. Qin Yan knew she’d suffer in verbal exchanges, but for Qin Yinyin’s sake, she managed to find little fatty’s mother’s mobile number and dialed it.

The phone connected almost immediately.

Catching Mrs. Yue answer so promptly surprised Qin Yan, and before she could gather herself, a voice already snapped from the other side, "Qin Yan, you have the nerve to call me? Your damn daughter broke my son’s leg. I’m telling you, we are far from done here!"

Although Mrs. Yue’s words were harsh, Qin Yan could understand her feelings; raising a child is never easy, and if Mrs. Yue had spoken politely, that would have been abnormal.

Biting her lip, Qin Yan murmured, "Mrs. Yue, I’m so sorry, truly sorry, it’s Yinyin’s fault..."

"Fault? You admit there was a fault?" Mrs. Yue interrupted Qin Yan in a mocking tone, her voice thick with derision, "Aren’t you supposed to be tough? Weren’t you going to sue us? Go ahead and sue! Why call to admit fault now? Weren’t you all confident yesterday?"

The Yue family had initially been nervous when they saw the name Bo Yunshen signed on the check, given his towering status in Tong City. But a night had passed, and they had yet to receive any court summons.

Bo Yunshen was a man whose word was law; she couldn’t believe that after saying he would sue, he would suddenly have a change of heart.

Did she really think the court dared to delay Bo Yunshen’s lawsuit?

Like her relatives said, perhaps Qin Yan was just trying to evade responsibility by throwing out some scapegoat to pacify her!
