Chapter 47: Chapter 47 Why Did He Leave?!

A cigarette had burned to its end when Bo Yunshen pinched out the spark between two fingers and discarded it into a trash can in the hospital corridor.

Bo Yunshen glanced back at the ward, furrowed his brows, and then turned to stride down the stairs rapidly.

He made his way to the parking lot and sat in his car, his mind suddenly recalling the scene when he had just arrived at the Night Club and found Qin Yan.

It was the first time Bo Yunshen had seen Qin Yan in such a miserable state!

She laid on the floor, barely alive, her face so pale without a hint of blood, and despite the scorching weather, her body was icy cold. When they brought her to the hospital, the diagnosing doctor even said Qin Yan had a fever.

It definitely didn’t seem fake. Could she have been scared?

He took a deep breath, started the engine, and drove out of the hospital’s parking lot.

Qin Yan being stubborn to the point of folly, suffering a bit was not unjustified!

Besides, it was Tang Tian, that woman, who took it upon herself to scheme against someone—not him, so what did it have to do with him?

Was he supposed to take responsibility for Tang Tian’s actions? Go back to the hospital to take care of Qin Yan, that harm-bringer?

He wasn’t out of his mind, so why should he carry the can for mistakes made by a jealous woman?

Driving, Bo Yunshen saw the landscape on both sides of the road whizz by; Tong City’s nightscape was stunning, the dazzling lights like a mysterious beauty, beyond description. The unremarkable, flat roads of the daytime were now veiled in charm.

But the man had no mood to appreciate it as he pounded his fist on the steering wheel in irritation and accidentally hit the horn, triggering a crisp sound from his high-performance car.

Abruptly, he slammed on the brakes, his eyes filling with a dense fog of anger again.

Damn it!

Why did he leave?

Where was he going?

To Hai Wan Xiang Xie to continue caring for Qin Yan and that bastard child?!

Why should he? The child wasn’t his!

Could that woman just lie in a hospital bed and ignore her own daughter?!

The world wasn’t that carefree!

Bo Yunshen turned his car around and reversed back in the direction from which he came.

The night was a blur of colorful lights amidst the bustling traffic, all serving as mere background to the man’s handsome features, not nearly as bright as the gleam in his eyes.

Bo Yunshen was in a very bad mood, or rather, extremely foul.

He felt that although Qin Yan’s situation was miserable, he was even more so, since he had lost face regardless of whether he went home or not, all because of a detested woman.

Whether Qin Yan did it intentionally or not, whether it was three years ago or today, three years later, she always managed to kindle the wild fire in his heart.

With a cold snort, he took the car keys out of the ignition, spinning the key ring on his finger before he re-entered Qin Yan’s ward and finally stopped.

This series of actions was suave and ruffian-like, and as he walked, he didn’t realize how many women’s gazes he attracted.

Especially because Bo Yunshen also had a face that was flashier than the busiest of streets.

Qin Yan hadn’t expected Bo Yunshen to return. Her profound and faint eyes looked towards Bo Yunshen like a soft, soundless drizzle, yet it irritated Bo Yunshen greatly.

"What are you looking at? Can’t I stay here if I want?!"

Bo Yunshen snapped at Qin Yan.

If it weren’t for Qin Yan, would he have to wander aimlessly in the middle of the night, clueless about where to go?

Qin Yan propped herself up with one hand to her lips and coughed lightly, sensing Bo Yunshen’s sour mood. She didn’t retort. Instead, she looked at him anxiously and asked in a low voice, "Mr. Bo, what time is it now?"

Locked in the Night Club for a day, she had struggled through it, feeling as if each day were a year-long. Without a clock in the sickroom, she didn’t even know what time it was, let alone Qin Yinyin’s whereabouts.

Qin Yan became anxious, and the world started to turn dark before her eyes. More than twenty hours had passed without a drop of water, and she could barely muster up any energy. Anxiety made her feel like her blood sugar was plummeting.

Bo Yunshen didn’t want to pay any attention to Qin Yan. His sharp eyes surveyed her, seemingly ignoring everything she said.

Aside from the harsh words he had spoken when he first entered the door, Bo Yunshen had kept his eyes lowered, not uttering a single word.

He didn’t sit, either. His expression was inscrutably deep. On a normal day, Qin Yan would never dare to provoke Bo Yunshen, but right now, her concern for Qin Yinyin made it impossible to consider his feelings.

"Mr. Bo, may I use your phone?"

Qin Yan spoke, a faint layer of mist so subtle in her eyes it was almost imperceptible. Her heart was alight with worry, and all she wanted to do was call Qin Yinyin’s teacher to find out what was happening.

Hearing Qin Yan’s request, Bo Yunshen looked up at her, his gaze briefly touching the desperation on her face, causing the corners of his lips to curl up slightly.

Was she thinking of her daughter? Wanting to borrow a phone to look for someone?

Bo Yunshen scoffed coldly; he wanted to see the expression on Qin Yan’s face when she couldn’t find Qin Yinyin.

Bo Yunshen certainly hadn’t forgotten how, for the sake of bringing him to see that bastard, Qin Yan had taken reckless actions.

With that in mind, Bo Yunshen didn’t bring up the fact that Qin Yinyin was at Hai Wan Xiang Xie, instead tossing his slender phone into Qin Yan’s hand.

He then casually seated himself back on the bench at the edge of the sickroom, waiting to watch the drama of Qin Yan breaking down in tears.

"Thank you."

Qin Yan muttered her thanks, took the phone, and lit up Bo Yunshen’s screen.

Seeing Bo Yunshen’s lock screen wallpaper, she paused, taken aback. The image of Lin Man nestled in the arms of a handsome man sharply pained Qin Yan’s heart.

She nearly lost grip on the phone in her hands, her slender, pale fingers turning white at the knuckles.

Bo Yunshen wasn’t fond of taking photos, and there were very few of them together back when she was with him. Yet, when her fingertips touched the screen and felt the genuine joy emanating from Bo Yunshen’s smile,

she couldn’t help but tremble.

He must love Lin Man dearly, or else he wouldn’t have this photo, or even use such a girlish picture as his wallpaper.

Did Lin Man set it? Or did he?

She had been gone for three years, yet Bo Yunshen still clung to his memories, choosing such a method to deal with his longing for Lin Man.

In despair, Qin Yan found that, even after being ruthlessly tormented by Bo Yunshen for three years, she still minded his feelings for Lin Man.

She had thought her heart was long dead.

Bo Yunshen, noticing Qin Yan staring blankly at his phone screen, thought that she didn’t know the password. He waited to enjoy the show, subconsciously about to tell her the lock screen code.

"Pass..."

He had barely uttered a syllable when he saw Qin Yan swiftly slide open his phone’s screen, entering the password with practiced ease.

With a "click," the phone unlocked.

Qin Yan’s motions were fluid as if she had done it a million times, freezing Bo Yunshen to his core.

He stared intently at Qin Yan, a mix of shock and fury.

How could Qin Yan know his phone password?

He was always extremely private, never even sharing such personal details with Manman.

But the way Qin Yan input the password was clearly instinctive; how could one explain that...
