Chapter 370: Chapter 370: Feeling Guilty Like a Thief?

Qin Yan paused.

Bo Yunshen smacked the resignation letter out of Qin Yan’s hands, the A4 sheet fluttering down gracefully onto the pristine floor of the hospital room.

Yinyin is your daughter...

Qin Yan felt the words lodged in her throat; she couldn’t swallow them down, nor could she spit them out.

Bo Yunshen’s sharp gaze fell upon her, as if it were a blade, slicing through Qin Yan’s fragile nerves.

"Qin Yan, you’re really in a rush, aren’t you? I arrived at the hospital last night, barely questioned you, and this is all it took for you to jump at the chance to resign."

As he spoke, he leaned forward, his handsome face coming closer, gradually filling Qin Yan’s field of vision: "Feeling guilty?"

It felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, chilling Qin Yan’s heart to the core.

Qin Yan placed her palms against the man’s firm chest, pushing him back slightly.

Confused, Bo Yunshen watched as she suddenly bent down to pick up the resignation letter, pressing it firmly onto the table.

"I’m not returning to Bo Group. I’ve already explained it clearly to Dad!"

"Once Yinyin recovers, I’ll take her away for a while."

The news hit Bo Yunshen like a shockwave, leaving him momentarily stunned.

Qin Yan saying she was resigning—it didn’t seem like she was joking around.

Could she actually be serious?

After sitting in the market department director’s position for three years, she suddenly decides to stop?

Qin Yan’s thought process was something Bo Yunshen had never fully understood.

Bo Yunshen felt that if Qin Yan walked away, it should make him happy! After all, Qin Yan was full of tricks, and if she independently left Bo Group, it would be nothing short of good news for him.

But now that she was actually doing it, a spark of rage inevitably flared up in Bo Yunshen’s heart.

He couldn’t let Qin Yan leave!

Absolutely not!

What if she left to secretly cause trouble?

No matter what, Qin Yan was an executive, and she knew plenty about Bo Group’s operations and strategies. What if she leaked confidential information?

The best option was to keep Qin Yan under his watchful eye.

Bo Yunshen reached out, grabbed the resignation letter, and tore it to shreds.

"I don’t agree."

Qin Yan felt her heart shrink in response.

"You worry I might have ulterior motives for Bo Group, but when I resign, you won’t let me go. Bo Yunshen, what exactly do you want?!"

Afraid of waking Qin Yinyin, Qin Yan deliberately softened her voice,

Yet her tone carried undeniable anger.

It was impossible for Bo Yunshen to ignore.

"Then do something to ease my concerns!"

Bo Yunshen’s voice was firm as he sneered coldly: "Director Qin is a clever individual; you should understand exactly what I mean."

After saying this, he reached out, grabbed Qin Yan’s shoulder, and pulled her down onto the bed.

Caught off guard, Qin Yan had no defense against Bo Yunshen’s sudden action; she fell entirely into his embrace.

The scent on him wasn’t anything pleasant—it reeked of medicinal salves—but in the dead of night, it inexplicably messed with Qin Yan’s emotions.

At some point, Qin Yinyin had rolled to the far side of the bed. Qin Yan didn’t want to lean against Bo Yunshen.

Instinctively, she shifted slightly, but Bo Yunshen’s grip on her waist tightened.

"Don’t move!"

Qin Yan ignored him, placing her palms against Bo Yunshen’s chest: "Let me go! I still have things to do."

Bo Yunshen’s hold on Qin Yan grew tighter, his deep, profound gaze locking onto her eyes.

The dim light was alluring, stirring warmth in hearts far too easily.

The corner of Bo Yunshen’s lips curled. His long arm reached out, shutting off the bedside lamp—the sole remaining light in the room.

The hospital room was instantly plunged into darkness.

"Sleep!"

"I stayed away from the Night Club, but it wasn’t to come to the hospital and watch you draft resignation letters!"

Qin Yan hadn’t stopped struggling. Knowing Bo Yunshen’s heart wasn’t with her, she couldn’t bring herself to get closer to him. She feared that once again, her own heart might falter.

Suddenly, Bo Yunshen grabbed her hand and enclosed it in his own, his voice growing increasingly dangerous:

"Qin Yan, is staying awake what you want, or are you planning on doing something else?"

Qin Yan froze, her body stiffening abruptly within his embrace.

Bo Yunshen held her tightly, sensing her discomfort, then let out a faint, mocking laugh.

Qin Yan’s resistance?

Married to him, was she planning to remain pure for Qin Yinyin’s biological father?

Could it be that she assumed her position in his heart was eternally held by Manman, and that he wouldn’t be tempted by her?

Feeling irritated, Bo Yunshen concluded that Qin Yan planned to use him without offering anything in return.

The night concealed the gloom on his face as Bo Yunshen lowered his lashes, letting out another cold laugh.

There was no way he would touch Qin Yan!

He despised her far too much for that; merely seeing her face was enough to annoy him. How could he possibly get involved with her?

How laughable Qin Yan was, completely lacking any self-awareness!

As the hours of night deepened, Bo Yunshen kept his grip on Qin Yan’s waist, drawing her closer into his embrace, and closed his eyes to sleep.

...

The next morning.

Qin Yan was woken up by a ringing phone. She was still nestled in Bo Yunshen’s arms, while the man showed no signs of waking up.

Disoriented, she reached for the phone and slid her thumb to answer.

"Hello?"

There was silence on the other end. Qin Yan instinctively checked the phone’s screen, her drowsiness dissipating entirely in an instant.

She had picked up a call meant for Bo Yunshen.

The name "Manman" on the screen made it unmistakably clear who the caller was.

She had always known Bo Yunshen didn’t store people’s contact information—she’d discovered that three years ago. Lin Man was the sole exception, and three years later, this habit of his hadn’t changed.

Qin Yan felt a pang in her chest.

"Yanyan?"

Lin Man’s voice carried a note of strained politeness: "Are you and Yunshen together? I came to the hospital to see Yinyin..."

Before she could finish speaking, Bo Yunshen woke up. He lifted his eyelids slightly and glanced at the phone in Qin Yan’s hand, asking, "Who’s calling?"

Through the phone line, Lin Man heard his voice—low and lazy from sleep.

It sounded as if he were right next to the phone...

Lin Man’s mind went blank. Qin Yan sounded half-asleep, and Bo Yunshen’s voice clearly indicated he had just woken up too...

Were they sleeping together?

Similarly, Qin Yan panicked, instinctively pulling back.

She immediately rolled out of Bo Yunshen’s arms.

Qin Yan gathered her scattered hair and handed the phone over: "I thought it was my phone. Sorry..."

Bo Yunshen rubbed his forehead, casually accepting the phone. His gaze fell upon the screen, his pupils contracting slightly.

"Manman?"

"Why are you calling?"

Lin Man could barely hold the phone steady. Forcing herself to smile, she replied: "Yun... Yunshen, I’m at the hospital. I called to ask about Yinyin’s room..."

Bo Yunshen responded, "It’s still the same one as before. Just come up directly!"

Before long, Lin Man pushed open the door to the hospital room.

Qin Yan was about to get out of bed, one hand bracing against the edge of the bed, her bare feet resting near Bo Yunshen’s side.

Her clothes were slightly disheveled, and Lin Man visibly froze, even taking a subconscious step backward.
