Chapter 349: Chapter 349: It’s None of Your Business
Bo Yunshen took a deep breath.
Lin Man immediately followed up, saying, "Yanyan specifically told me not to let anything go wrong with you. If you make me leave, and Yanyan thinks I didn’t take good care of you, what should I do if she blames me for it?"
"Manman, don’t overthink it. It has nothing to do with you."
Though Bo Yunshen spoke these words calmly, Lin Man instinctively fell silent.
Having been with Bo Yunshen for so many years, she had always understood his resolute personality—he meant what he said.
She pursed her lips as Bo Yunshen fiddled with his phone, speaking casually, "Prepare well for the upcoming exchange. Shine brightly there, and stay with Bo Group—as a gift for my discharge from the hospital."
"Is that okay, Manman?"
Lin Man paused for a moment and then nodded.
His lips curved slightly with no trace of a smile, as he shrank under the covers, typing word by word a message to Qin Yan.
[Come to the hospital tonight!]
Qin Yan’s phone number had been given to him by Xu Lin.
After sending the message, he tossed the phone aside, completely unfazed by the possibility of Qin Yan refusing him.
He understood well that Qin Yan only knew how to use the old man to threaten him, but he was clear about her capabilities.
Besides, Qin Yan cared about the Bo Group, and he knew she’d certainly put on the necessary façade—Qin Yan wouldn’t neglect it!
Bo Yunshen was confident that after sending the message to Qin Yan, he could discard the phone on the table. Less than a minute later, his phone buzzed.
Bo Yunshen’s brows arched slightly, the tip of his tongue touching the edge of his lips, his eyes flashing with a trace of disdain.
He’d known all along that Qin Yan left the hospital just to play hard to get. Judging by how quickly she responded, could it be that she’d been waiting by the phone for his message?
It seemed Qin Yan knew her place.
Bo Yunshen stretched out a long arm, grabbed the phone off the pillow, and unlocked it.
The message wasn’t from Qin Yan—it was junk mail.
A sharp glint of anger tinged Bo Yunshen’s eyebrows. That damned woman Qin Yan, she had quite the nerve, even ignoring the texts he sent her?
Does she want to ascend to heaven?
Half an hour later, Qin Yan’s call finally came in.
Bo Yunshen paused for a moment before reaching out to answer, the first sound being the rustling of papers.
"Yunshen, is there something you need at the hospital?"
Bo Yunshen’s brows furrowed.
What did she mean by that? If he didn’t have something to say, he couldn’t call her to come to the hospital?
Then again, coming to the hospital must have interrupted her search for a fling!
Bo Yunshen hesitated briefly, his words lingering at the edge of his lips before stopping. He parted his lips slightly and said softly, "Of course there’s something!"
"What is it?"
"Manman likes Burberry’s design style. This morning, while flipping through a magazine, she discovered their limited edition gown!"
Qin Yan tightened her grip on the pen in her palm, sensing the implications.
Bo Yunshen spoke slowly, "She’s staying at the hospital to take care of your husband. Don’t you think it’s only proper for you, Qin Yan, to show some appreciation?"
Qin Yan laughed.
"Is that so?"
Her tone was calm and nonchalant, showing no trace of anger. Bo Yunshen paused briefly.
Qin Yan continued, "Why do I feel like I’ve been taking care of Miss Lin’s husband for the past three years instead?"
Bo Yunshen was momentarily speechless.
Qin Yan’s voice softened, "At the hospital, all I ever do is irritate you, Bo Yunshen, so I won’t be coming over."
"If there’s anything you need, Mr. Bo, just directly ask Miss Lin. Given the feelings between the two of you, I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to oblige."
"As for Miss Lin’s preference for that high-end brand’s clothing design, it has nothing to do with me either."
"Mr. Bo, let’s get one thing straight: It’s the twenty-first century, not ancient times where I’m supposed to worry about a sister’s wellness!"
Bo Yunshen’s hand holding the phone trembled with anger.
Just as he was about to speak, the call disconnected with a busy tone.
A twitch of fury rippled through Bo Yunshen’s brows. His fingers abruptly clenched, their joints turning pale.
He stared at his phone, taking a deep breath. Qin Yan certainly thought too highly of herself. Ancient times? Sister? Is she dreaming?
If it were ancient times, did she think she could dream of being the head mistress? He’d have long divorced her—ugh!
Bo Yunshen tossed his phone onto the bedside table, his expression dark and stormy. Lin Man took note of his expression and paused. Softly, she asked, "Yunshen, what did Yanyan say?"
"Yunshen, you shouldn’t talk to Yanyan like that. Burberry’s clothes are really expensive; it’s not worth wasting money on me!"
"Besides, taking care of you is something I’m happy to do. I don’t need any rewards for it. Yunshen, please don’t mention such things again, alright?"
Bo Yunshen’s lips curled with sarcasm. "Expensive? How expensive? Do you think I can’t afford a few pieces of clothing?"
"And my money—where should it go if not spent on you? Should I waste it on Qin Yan instead?"
"Do I have ’idiot’ written across my forehead?"
Bo Yunshen leaned forward slightly, murmuring, "If you like something, just tell me!"
"If Qin Yan won’t come, there’s still Xu Lin!"
The man’s deep eyes gleamed with an intense glow, resolute and unwavering. Lin Man paused for a moment, lowered her head to conceal the sudden emotions flooding her gaze.
After exchanging a few words with Lin Man, a nurse walked in, saying she needed to take Bo Yunshen for an examination.
Bo Yunshen was wheeled out by the nurse while Lin Man stayed in the hospital room waiting.
...
When Qin Yan finished dealing with documents, it was already the afternoon. The summer weather had its quirks, making people easily feel drowsy.
Leaning against the broad backrest of her chair, Qin Yan had just closed her eyes when her phone rang.
She fluttered her lashes, picked up her phone—it was Bo Yunshen’s primary care doctor calling.
Qin Yan hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Mrs. Bo?"
Qin Yan paused for a moment and replied, "Yes, this is she. Calling at this time—is something wrong with Yunshen?"
"Yes and no," the doctor replied nonchalantly. "Mrs. Bo, we conducted an examination on Mr. Bo today."
"Previously, due to a medication allergy, I emphasized the need for twenty-four-hour close monitoring of Mr. Bo, but he’s been given the wrong medication again."
"Moreover, the young lady staying beside Mr. Bo knows absolutely nothing about medical care; even when giving him food, she doesn’t consider dietary restrictions. If you’re truly too busy, I suggest hiring a nurse to take care of Mr. Bo..."
The doctor’s voice was detached and cold; every word felt like a sharp blade stabbing Qin Yan’s ears.
If she neglected Bo Yunshen completely, Mrs. Bo wouldn’t spare her.
But when she got involved, sometimes her temper got the better of her.
Qin Yan’s lashes quivered as she quietly said, "I’ll head to the hospital now."
"I assure you this situation won’t happen again, and I won’t trouble you anymore, doctor."
Receiving her promise, the doctor ended the call without any further discussion.
Qin Yan closed the files on her desk and left the office directly. Knowing she might not be able to return quickly, she first went to the kindergarten to pick up Qin Yinyin.
By the time she arrived at the hospital, it was already four o’clock.
Lin Man was sitting by the bedside, cutting an apple for Bo Yunshen.
