The Cold-hearted CEO's Unwanted Bride -
Chapter 33: Does Dad Not Like Me?
Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Does Dad Not Like Me?
Gu Jinyan finished speaking, walked over to Qin Yinyin, grabbed her little chubby hand, and followed Bo Yunshen out of the police station.
Once outside, the light was plentiful, and Bo Yunshen’s face shone even more dazzlingly in the sunlight. Although Qin Yinyin was injured, seeing her father filled her with satisfaction.
As she approached, Bo Yunshen, with a cold face, asked her, "Where do you live, I’ll take you back!"
Qin Yinyin didn’t sense Bo Yunshen’s indifference and responded with a sweet smile, "I don’t know the way, my mom has never brought me here, I don’t know how to go back."
Bo Yunshen frowned, tilted his chin, and said, "Get in the car!"
He went around to the driver’s seat, bent down to get in, and didn’t bother to check if Qin Yinyin’s small frame could open the car door. It was Gu Jinyan who reached out to open the door for her and lifted her into the back seat.
Qin Yinyin politely said to Gu Jinyan, "Thank you, Uncle."
Gu Jinyan, who had just settled in the front seat, looked back at her and suddenly believed a bit in what Bo Yunshen had said: that Qin Yinyin wasn’t his child.
He thought that with Old Bo’s personality, it was unlikely to have such a cute baby like Qin Yinyin.
As soon as the car started, Qin Yinyin pressed her delicate little face against the back of Bo Yunshen’s seat and asked softly, "Daddy, where are we going?"
Bo Yunshen struggled to get used to being called "Daddy," but even in his fury, there was nowhere to direct it against a child.
His face grew darker and darker.
It seemed Qin Yan had told Qin Yinyin quite a bit in private about him being her dad—look how naturally she called him that!
Who knew what she was scheming?
Bo Yunshen didn’t say a word, and Qin Yinyin didn’t mind. Her large eyes reddened as she touched her injured forehead, smeared with a bit of blood.
She licked her lips, looked at the back of Bo Yunshen’s head, and said, "Daddy, my head really hurts..."
Hearing this, Gu Jinyan turned his head to look at Qin Yinyin and said, "Her head injury doesn’t look light, Old Bo, maybe you should stop by the hospital to have it checked? After all, she’s a girl, and it won’t be good if it leaves a scar!"
Qin Yinyin widened her eyes and looked towards Bo Yunshen.
Bo Yunshen glanced at Qin Yinyin’s injury through the rearview mirror.
Wasn’t the boy she had injured with a fracture still unattended at the hospital? Was Qin Yan’s daughter that precious?
He still suspected that this incident was Qin Yan’s doing!
To trap him, Bo Yunshen, that woman had really gone all out, even resorting to harming her own flesh!
After deliberately showing weakness for three years, couldn’t bear it anymore, huh?
Bo Yunshen couldn’t help but glance at Qin Yinyin in the rearview mirror, thinking to himself.
Qin Yan was really ruthless, to treat her own daughter so harshly!
And Qin Yinyin, so young yet so much like her mother, deceiving at such a tender age.
Still with the headache—did he, Bo Yunshen, look like he had never seen a three-year-old before? Anyone else with such serious injuries would have cried long ago! How could she only now say it hurts!
Qin Yan really knew how to raise a daughter!
"Hold on, once I get you home, let your mom bandage you up!"
Bo Yunshen scoffed coldly, wasn’t Qin Yan a doctor? She survived a cesarean birth, so such a minor injury should be nothing to her!
He didn’t have time to waste on unimportant people!
Qin Yinyin was very well protected by Qin Yan, and this was the first time she had been so seriously injured. She didn’t know what to do in this situation, so she reached out her little hand and tentatively touched it.
The more she touched, the more aggrieved she felt.
But then Qin Yinyin remembered what her mother had said about her father being very busy. In order not to cause any trouble, she endured the pain, her little porcelain-like face looking especially pale.
"Daddy, can you and mommy come with me to the next parent-child event at our school?"
Bo Yunshen’s narrow eyes slightly squinted—this must be a question Qin Yan had rehearsed with Qin Yinyin!
Trying to win Bo Yunshen’s heart through one interaction?
Bo Yunshen sneered internally, pity, he felt sick even with the thought of glancing at Qin Yan!
Bo Yunshen did not answer. Thinking he hadn’t heard her, Qin Yinyin’s tiny body leaned forward from the passenger seat and whispered, "Can you, daddy?"
Bo Yunshen, startled by the sudden appearance of the fluffy head, jerked the steering wheel and then coldly scolded, "Sit properly!"
"Oh." Qin Yinyin replied meekly, settling back in the rear seat, then whispered again, "Daddy, could you make some time to accompany me? You’ve never come with me before..."
Bo Yunshen, initially focused intently on driving, paused.
He hadn’t attended such events with Qin Yinyin, but that was because Qin Yinyin wasn’t his child, and he didn’t feel obligated to!
Only Qin Yinyin’s voice filled the car, repeating one question, three times.
Three times Bo Yunshen gave no answer.
Gu Jinyan turned to look at Bo Yunshen, his brow furrowed, and said, "Old Bo, the little girl is talking to you. Can’t you just answer her?"
Bo Yunshen huffed coldly.
His attitude could be described as terrible, ever since Lin Man was forced to leave, Bo Yunshen had become like this.
Although Qin Yinyin was an innocent child, in Bo Yunshen’s eyes, since she was Qin Yan’s child, she was not innocent!
Gu Jinyan sighed, noticing the quiet in the car, and turned to look back at the rear seat.
A fine mist veiled Qin Yinyin’s grape-like, glossy pupils. Noticing Gu Jinyan’s gaze, she looked towards him.
The moisture in her eyes disappeared, as if her previous grievances and the urge to cry had been Gu Jinyan’s imagination.
"Uncle, why doesn’t daddy pay any attention to me?"
Gu Jinyan’s expression stiffened—because Bo Yunshen didn’t consider that Qin Yinyin was his daughter?
This answer wasn’t accurate enough, nor could he say it to Qin Yinyin.
Next, Qin Yinyin asked, "Does daddy dislike me?"
Gu Jinyan forced a laugh twice. Qin Yinyin stared at him, and whispered, "Is everything they say true? Am I just a bastard? Is that why daddy doesn’t want me?"
Even as the number one person in Tong City, Gu Jinyan was at a loss for words when questioned by a three-year-old, causing him quite a headache.
"Old Bo! Can’t you fucking say something? Just answer her question!"
Through the rearview mirror, Bo Yunshen glanced at Qin Yinyin, whose eyes were slightly red but remained stubbornly tear-free.
Seeing her like this, Bo Yunshen suddenly felt an upsurge of irritation—how had it ended up being his fault?
With Qin Yan gone, he deliberately avoided Qin Yinyin’s questions, fearing Qin Yan would think Bo Yunshen was bullying a child!
