"President!"

Gu Jinyan hadn’t finished speaking when Xu Lin suddenly pushed open the door and barged into the president’s office. He had planned to speak directly, but upon seeing Gu Jinyan, he instantly fell silent.

Bo Yunshen and Gu Jinyan both furrowed their brows in unison, the former displeased as he glared at Xu Lin, saying, "If there’s something to say, say it."

Xu Lin hesitated for two or three seconds before he finally spoke up about the reason for his intrusion.

"President, I just received a call from the kindergarten teacher. The teacher said that Director Qin’s daughter had a dispute with a boy at school, and they started fighting..."

Bo Yunshen gave Xu Lin a sideways glance, a cold sneer escaping his thin lips.

"What, is this the late or rather, the absent excuse given by Director Qin?"

Xu Lin broke out in a cold sweat and said, "No, Miss Yinyin’s teacher couldn’t reach Mr. Qin’s phone, so they called me. The teacher said Miss Yinyin broke the boy’s bone and also injured her own forehead. The school hopes Miss Yinyin’s father can come over..."

Bo Yunshen’s gaze instantly turned sharp as a knife, piercing into Xu Lin.

Because of his urgency, Xu Lin couldn’t care about being afraid and asked Bo Yunshen, "President, do you think you should go? After all..."

The man did not speak, but instead, it was Gu Jinyan, sitting beside him, who laughed and said, "Not bad, Old Bo. Truly your progeny, such a young kid, and already breaking the bones of a peer. Impressive! You’ve got your style!"

Bo Yunshen’s forehead throbbed, ignoring Gu Jinyan’s teasing without even blinking as he said, "She’s just a bastard, not worthy of my concern for her life or death."

The man tilted his head, movements slow, his jawline sharp and deep, but his expression was far too inhuman.

"This is the Bo Group President’s office, not a pet adoption center. Since it’s Qin Yan’s daughter who caused the trouble, let’s wait for Qin Yan to come back and handle it!"

Xu Lin didn’t move; Bo Yunshen looked in his direction, his voice chilling.

"Anything else?"

Xu Lin, feeling helpless, shook his head. Bo Yunshen’s slender fingertips tapped on the desktop twice and said, "If there’s nothing else, don’t stay here and disturb me and Mr. Gu from discussing important matters!"

"Yes."

Although Xu Lin was anxious, he dared not counter Bo Yunshen and could only turn and leave Bo Yunshen’s office.

Only Bo Yunshen and Gu Jinyan remained in the room. The former’s expression was notably poor. Gu Jinyan, teasing, spoke up, "Old Bo, what do you think about Yinyin breaking that other child’s bone?"

"Even if you are not her biological father, she is still your wife’s child, you are at least half a father! Don’t you plan to go at all and see?"

A bastard, what opinion could he have?

Bo Yunshen’s eyes darkened. Qin Yan’s daughter, where could she be good? From the information leaked by Xu Lin, it was clear, Qin Yinyin was just an ill-mannered brat!

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have done something as serious as breaking someone’s bone.

He might think as he pleased, but he had no intention of discussing Qin Yinyin with Gu Jinyan. Instead, he lowered his gaze, glared at him, and said, "Are you going to say anything more? If not, do whatever you need to do, and don’t waste my time here. Do I look free to you?"

As soon as Bo Yunshen finished speaking, it was Gu Jinyan’s turn to sneer.

"You’re not busy, so what were you doing at the Ritz-Carlton? You surely weren’t there to inspect, were you?"

Before Bo Yunshen could retort, the office landline rang. Bo Yunshen extended his distinctly boned hand and picked it up.

It was from the secretariat.

"What is it?"

A woman’s voice came through. Bo Yunshen, who generally paid little attention to women, couldn’t quite figure out who it was.

"President, there’s a local express delivery for you. The courier insists that he watches you open it himself. Are you available?"

Bo Yunshen furrowed his brows; there was a moment of hesitation on the line before he said, "Let him in."

About four or five minutes after Bo Yunshen hung up the phone, someone knocked on the office door from the outside.

A man in a courier uniform entered; he seemed nervous, but recognizing Bo Yunshen, a celebrity in Tong City, he didn’t ask to verify his identity. Across the lengthy desk, the courier handed over the package he was holding.

Taking it with one hand, Bo Yunshen noted it was contained in a document envelope, thin and light. He had no recollection of this delivery and immediately tore open a slit, pulling out a thin A4 sheet of paper.

Gu Jinyan initially had no thoughts about this couriered item, but Bo Yunshen stared at it for a long time, his expression growing increasingly grim.

Since they were discussing the acquisition of GR construction materials stocks, Gu Jinyan had to use Bo Yunshen’s computer, so they were sitting quite close. Gu Jinyan leaned over slightly and glanced at the A4 paper.

He took just one look.

Gu Jinyan couldn’t help but curse, "Fuck!"

"Old Bo, that’s not fair. Didn’t you say you never slept with Qin Yan? How come Qin Yinyin has turned out to be your daughter now?"

On the A4 paper was a paternity test report between Bo Yunshen and Qin Yinyin. Gu Jinyan couldn’t understand the data, but he certainly wasn’t blind to the conclusion.

Bo Yunshen and Qin Yinyin were confirmed as father and daughter, leaving Gu Jinyan utterly stunned.

Originally, Gu Jinyan had only thought at most Bo Yunshen would be Qin Yinyin’s stepfather, but with the paternity test results, Bo Yunshen ended up being her biological father.

"Hey? What are you spacing out for? Isn’t your daughter having trouble with someone at school? Come on, take me to see the excitement!"

Gu Jinyan gave Bo Yunshen a nudge, his face brimming with a smile, especially his peach blossom eyes which shimmered irresistibly.

Just as Bo Yunshen was about to speak, the office door was knocked on again. His eyes deepened with an ambiguous meaning as he paused for a minute before slightly parting his thin lips and uttering, "Enter."

It was Xu Lin again; this time his face was riddled with worry and urgency, almost overflowing as he spoke rapidly.

"President, the kindergarten teacher said that the parents of the boy Miss Yinyin fought with have arrived there causing quite a stir. If no one from Miss Yinyin’s side goes to mediate, they’ll take her to the police station!"

Bo Yunshen dropped the thin sheet of paper on the desk. Being too light, it fluttered in the air for a second before landing softly on the surface.

Bo Yunshen half-lifted his head and narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing Xu Lin’s anxious face, "Is this what you work on all day?"
