"What do you mean?" she fired back, "You have the nerve to bribe someone for a fake paternity test but no guts to admit it?"

"Do you think the Bo Family is some sort of place where any Tom, Dick, or Harry can just walk in?"

Mrs. Bo took a deep breath, her face darkening.

The words "Tom, Dick, or Harry" felt like a sharp knife stabbing directly into Qin Yan’s heart.

She resisted the urge to hang up, her eyes growing cold, "Mom, you’re thinking too much. Even if I wanted to get Yinyin into the Bo Family, I wouldn’t choose such a stupid method!"

"Three years of marriage, Yinyin and I have never bothered the Bo Family with anything. This time, it was Yunshen who got the paternity test done without saying a word!"

"Fine, return the money to me, and I’ll let you go!"

The people in the room paused all at once as Qin Yan approached the boss and patted the back of the chair behind him.

A moment of bewilderment crossed the boss’s face; Qin Yan’s reaction was too abnormal. Before coming here, he had thought of a myriad of reactions—angry yelling, screaming—but he had never expected her to simply admit it and even ask him for one hundred thousand dollars.

The boss felt something was fishy.

Qin Yan asked again, "How do you plan to pay me? Transfer or WeChat? I don’t take cash!"

The boss swallowed and fumbled out his phone, stuttering, "I... I’ll, I’ll transfer it to you via WeChat!"

"Mr. Bo has arrived..."

Someone in the room muttered quietly; Qin Yan did not turn her head, retrieved her phone, and said softly, "Okay, transfer it!"

Bo Yunshen’s eyes narrowed as he looked toward Qin Yan. The woman, with her back to him, casually pulled up a stool and sat in the PR department’s conference room.

His eyebrows twitched fiercely; this infuriating woman, wasn’t she afraid that the Bo Family’s reputation would suffer enough?

Was she really asking this man for one hundred thousand dollars?

Bo Yunshen was furious; he instinctively stepped forward, wanting to pull Qin Yan away, but his hand stopped just as it was about to touch her arm.

She patted the creases on her clothes, pointed at the conference room door, and said softly, "You can go now!"

The boss paused, half-doubtful, half-believing, "Miss Qin, you... won’t sue me?"

Qin Yan’s lips curved upward, "Sue you for what? You’ve just handed me one hundred thousand dollars for free; I should be thanking you!"

Silence fell over the conference room.

Qin Yan had publicly admitted to bribing the boss; this dramatic twist left everyone present dazzled.

They were utterly unable to pay attention to the dialogue between Qin Yan and the boss, all wondering how they were going to clear themselves in such a dead end.

And Qin Yan’s shameless reply only quieted the atmosphere in the conference room further; it was so silent one could hear a pin drop.

Xiao Shen and Xu Lin looked at each other, both seeing the almost palpably dark expression on Bo Yunshen’s face.

The thing was, not only did Qin Yan seem utterly unaffected, but her face also bore an even more delighted smile:

"I remember, Xu Lin seemed to have done not only a paternity test at your place but also at others!"

"Yunshen has three paternity test results in his hands; I need to make calls to each of them to settle this one hundred thousand dollars!"

Qin Yan smiled at the boss, "You better leave quickly; I don’t have time to entertain you!"

The boss’s face shook; Qin Yan turned around and reached out to Xiao Shen, "Where are the contact details for the bosses of the other two paternity testing agencies I asked you to investigate?"
