Chapter 223: This Stupid, Like My Daughter Bo Yunshen?

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: This Stupid, Like My Daughter Bo Yunshen?

Bo Yunshen’s already gloomy eyes darkened further at these words, a shadow cast over them.

He glanced at Qin Yinyin and asked the old doctor in a brooding tone, "So foolish, like she’s my daughter, Bo Yunshen’s?"

Qin Yan had been married to the Bo Family for three years and had not yet divorced. The old doctor didn’t catch the hidden meaning in Bo Yunshen’s words and smiled.

"Mr. Bo, Miss Bo looks exactly like you. Even to strangers, upon first meeting you two, they would think you are father and daughter."

Bo Yunshen was completely upset.

He had heard more than once that Qin Yinyin resembled him.

But he truly couldn’t remember any connection he had with Qin Yan, let alone the possibility of having a daughter.

Suddenly, he remembered the hair he had clipped from Qin Yinyin in the hospital...

Thinking of it, Bo Yunshen subconsciously reached into his trouser pocket.

His clothes had been changed at Gu Jinyan’s house, and it seemed the collection bag was left in those trousers.

Bo Yunshen was too embarrassed to ask Gu Jinyan for it, guessing that if Gu Jinyan knew Qin Yinyin’s hair was inside the collection bag, he would probably mock him to death!

Bo Yunshen’s knuckles moved, and he glanced in Qin Yinyin’s direction.

Her eyes met his, round and clear, with distinct black and white, her eyelashes thick and long, her skin on her face tender, but one side of her cheek was swollen, ruining the beauty of her small face.

How... How could she look like him?

Surely this old man wasn’t losing his sight!

Why does she seem to look more like Qin Yan?

Bo Yunshen cast a suspicious glance at the old doctor. Could this old man be someone sent by that woman, Qin Yan?

Otherwise, why would he always be praising Qin Yan in front of him?

Was Qin Yan worried that he would trouble her, and deliberately found someone to speak on her behalf?

He furrowed his brows, just as someone pushed open the bedroom door from the outside.

Qin Yan was still wearing the hospital gown, which made her already slender figure appear even more delicate.

Her complexion was very pale, and she didn’t seem to be in good spirits.

As soon as she entered, she went straight to the medicine box, took out tweezers and alcohol swabs, and squatted down in front of him.

A faint cold fragrance wafted to Bo Yunshen’s nose as she moved. He shifted slightly and stopped Qin Yan’s actions.

"Mr. Bo?"

Qin Yan looked at Bo Yunshen with confusion.

One was lying down, the other squatting, very close together, Qin Yan’s facial features magnified in front of him, even her eyelashes each distinct.

Bo Yunshen could even feel the thin breath that Qin Yan inadvertently sprinkled on his nose when she spoke.

The words stuck in his throat, and after a two-second pause, the old doctor spoke again.

"It’s just a matter of removing the glass shards from Mr. Bo’s arm, applying some medicine, and wrapping it up!"

"I think Mrs. Bo’s technique is perfectly capable of handling this. I’m old now, my vision isn’t what it used to be, and I might not do a better job than Mrs. Bo!"

"As you age, even standing for a while makes you tired! I’ll head back now!"

Qin Yan turned her head slightly, about to stand up, but was held down by Qin Yinyin’s plump little hands, "Mama, you treat Papa’s wounds, I’ll take Doctor Grandpa."

The old doctor praised Qin Yinyin a few more times, then his voice faded away.

The air in the bedroom became eerily quiet, and Qin Yan lowered her head again to pick the glass out from Bo Yunshen’s arm.

A sharp pain emanated from his arm, causing Bo Yunshen to furrow his brow, growing increasingly irritable.

A cold sweat dripped down his forehead, and Bo Yunshen’s forearm recoiled unnaturally, only to be firmly held down by Qin Yan, "Don’t move!"

Her voice was faint, yet Bo Yunshen’s mood only worsened. He simply closed his eyes.

For some reason, Bo Yunshen suddenly remembered waking up on the mountain, the raincoat floating in that puddle.

It was all because of a raincoat, all because of what Old Zhang had said.

He thought Qin Yan would not wake up halfway through and kept jumping into that puddle over and over...

Now, thinking about it, Bo Yunshen felt like a joke.

Qin Yan’s wound was infected, so why did she wake up halfway?

She must have known Old Zhang beforehand, right? They conspired together, just to take his, Bo Yunshen’s, life?

He couldn’t remember when he had ever offended Qin Yan!

Unaware of Bo Yunshen’s inner turmoil, Qin Yan had finished removing the glass shards and had started applying medicine to him.

The wound on his back was severe, a combination of new and old injuries, the flesh split open and particularly savage.

Even so, the muscular definition of the man’s waist was still evident.

She pursed her lips slightly, squeezing the ointment, and began to apply it to Bo Yunshen.

When the cotton ball touched the wound, it brought a sensation of itchiness mixed with pain, and Bo Yunshen squinted his eyes, the dim lamplight tinting his dark pupils with a tea-colored hue.

Suddenly, Bo Yunshen reached out, grabbed Qin Yan’s arm, and with force, flung her onto the bed and then turned over to pin her beneath him.

Qin Yan let out a startled cry, eyes meeting Bo Yunshen’s gaze, his pupils like black jade, emitting a deep, cold light, as if they could pierce straight into the depths of her heart.

Qin Yan felt somewhat panicked, still clutching the medical cotton ball in her palm, her hands clammy and damp; for a moment, she was unable to react.

"What... What’s wrong?"

Bo Yunshen looked at her coldly, "Qin Yan, I’ll ask you one question."

"Was it you who took the ATV and left me in Feng Lin District?"

Across the big bed was a standing air conditioner; Sister Li had turned it on and forgotten to adjust the blades upward, sending a cool breeze over, which cleared some of the fog from Qin Yan’s mind.

She tugged at the corner of her mouth, with little mirth, "Then let me also ask Mr. Bo a question."

"Did Mr. Bo take me to Feng Lin District to save me, or to kill me?"

Bo Yunshen’s already burning gaze suddenly flared with fire; he clenched his fist and slammed it beside Qin Yan’s ear.

"Qin Yan, is your brain made of mush?"

Qin Yan frowned.

She didn’t even know why Bo Yunshen was so angry.

Was it because she didn’t directly answer his question, or was it because her question had struck a fragile nerve in Bo Yunshen?

Qin Yan pushed the man off her and threw the cotton ball into the trash can by the bed.

The glass shards were all out, and the medication was almost done. She sat upright, intending to get out of bed.

But before she could make a move, Bo Yunshen grabbed her back again, slamming her nose against the man’s sturdy chest, causing her to reflexively wince in pain.

He held her waist with one hand, trapping her against his chest and held her tightly.

Qin Yan struggled a bit but couldn’t break free, "Mr. Bo, let go!"

Not only did Bo Yunshen not obey, but he also embraced her and dove onto the soft bed.

"My wife, why can’t I hold her?"

"Didn’t you insist on marrying me?"

"Why play the innocent now?"
