Chapter 204: Chapter 204: Bo Yunshen, I Only Have Yinyin
Qin Yan felt for the first time a sensation as if the sky had fallen and the earth had caved in. The sand grated against her legs, causing a raw pain. It was as though a knife had been plunged into her chest.
Touching it hurt.
Not touching hurt even more!
Bo Yunshen, too, was stunned. He had found out about Qin Yinyin’s kidnapping hastily and had not even prepared for the ransom exchange.
When he heard the words "kill the hostage," a sudden tightness gripped his heart.
His cellphone was broken, and instinctively, he thought to borrow Qin Yan’s phone to contact Gu Jinyan.
Bo Yunshen had just bowed his head when he saw Qin Yan kneeling on the beach, facing the sea. All the noise around them vanished abruptly, leaving only her, desolate as if her soul had been drained, leaving only an empty shell.
His throat constricted, and he bizarrely felt Qin Yan’s despair.
He even empathized with her despair so acutely that his own heart seemed to contract, causing a stabbing pain.
His silence lasted only a second or two. The car was parked too far away, and the kidnapper had already left. Bo Yunshen needed to get in touch with others to figure out what happened.
He walked up to Qin Yan, and when he spoke, he realized his voice trembled severely,
"Director Qin, your phone!"
"The kidnapper will definitely go to the bank counter to withdraw the money. The commercial district closest to this beach is less than a ten-minute drive away. I don’t have much time!"
Qin Yan gave no response.
Her eyes were tearless and vacant. Bo Yunshen’s fingers trembled, and, hesitating for a moment, he squatted down in front of her.
"Don’t you want to see Yinyin?"
As soon as he said this, Qin Yan finally reacted. Her eyes moved, her gaze focused, and she met Bo Yunshen’s eyes.
Qin Yan felt pain, as if something had gone wrong within her. Looking into Bo Yunshen’s eyes evoked images of Qin Yinyin.
Every moment they had shared was suddenly vivid—Yinyin’s laughter, her tears, the way her eyelashes fluttered, catching the dust in the air.
This tore at Qin Yan’s already fragile nerves. She seemed to have become mute, with a lump of hot blood stuck in her throat, hurting deep into her core.
Bo Yunshen was at a loss under her gaze. Or perhaps, he had never felt so panicked in his life.
He unconsciously wanted to step back when Qin Yan suddenly spoke:
"Bo Yunshen."
"I only have Yinyin."
Eight words in total, but Bo Yunshen couldn’t shake the feeling that she uttered them with a voice strained to breaking, aching for life.
"The kidnapping is inextricably linked to me. I’ll explain everything to you later, but now, give me the phone..."
"Explain?" Qin Yan suddenly laughed.
A loud laugh.
Bo Yunshen had known Qin Yan for three years but had never seen her like this before—her laughter was more terrifying than her crying.
"What do I need explanations for? Didn’t you hear? Just now, that man said they would ’kill the hostage!’"
"He said Yinyin is dead, did you hear?"
Her gaze filled with so much hate, so burdensome, that Bo Yunshen felt an overwhelming sense weighing him down.
Her voice seemed venomous. Each word she spat out carried invisible blood.
"He even said the body was already cold!"
"Bo Yunshen, you must be thrilled!"
"You got what you wanted! Why aren’t you laughing?"
Bo Yunshen’s heart shuddered, his lips sealed into a straight line.
He didn’t feel sorry for Qin Yan!
"What are you raving about? They intended to kill the hostage long ago. Why are you looking at me like this?"
"Whether I was there or not, they wanted Qin Yinyin’s life!"
Bo Yunshen’s words, every letter, every punctuation, struck Qin Yan’s heart, a bloodless cut.
Qin Yan laughed so hard that tears came out, bending what was once a straight joystick.
"At this point, why are you still putting on an act in front of me?"
Bo Yunshen’s lips quivered as he asked her, "What do you mean?"
"You believed the kidnapper’s words? You think I had them kidnap Yinyin?"
"Qin Yan!"
Bo Yunshen suddenly raised his tone, his voice heavy: "Have you lost your mind?"
Qin Yan’s mind was in chaos.
Bo Yunshen himself said it, he wanted her dead!
He had just admitted it himself, he wished she couldn’t ransom back her daughter!
Bo Yuanshan knew about Yinyin’s identity, and although Mrs. Bo was a bit fierce with her words, Qin Yan had always thought that one day, she could donate bone marrow to Bo Yunshen!
Only Bo Yunshen.
Only Bo Yunshen!
"You just hate me for driving Manman away three years ago, don’t you? Bo Yunshen! You want to drive me to my death?!"
"You’re really despicable! To even lay a hand on a three-year-old child!"
"I must have been kicked in the head by a donkey; otherwise, how could I have ever fallen in love with someone like you!?"
She looked utterly numb, her words drifting to the extreme, each one weeping blood.
Bo Yunshen was pierced by Qin Yan’s words, a crack flashing in his eyes. He kidnapped Qin Yinyin, he ordered the ransom note to be torn?
Had Qin Yan never thought, if he wanted Qin Yinyin dead, why would he go through such a roundabout way?
When she was locked up in the Night Club by Tang Tian, wouldn’t it have been more straightforward for him to just strangle Qin Yinyin to death?
Choosing such a method, and it still got leaked by the kidnappers?
Qin Yan herself is foolish, does she think he is too?
"Alright!"
"Alright, alright!"
"Yes, I had the person kidnapped, I had the ransom note torn, I had Qin Yinyin thrown into this sea to feed the sharks!"
"I want not only her life, but for you to never even see her face, her body!"
As soon as Bo Yunshen finished speaking, Qin Yan was struck as if by lightning.
Her lips trembled, unable to utter a single word!
Qin Yan’s eyes seemed to be stained with blood, unnaturally red.
The hatred in the depths of her eyes was almost tangible, pricking Bo Yunshen so much that he began to struggle for breath!
Qin Yan hates him?!
Bo Yunshen sneered in his heart, it was already good enough that he didn’t hate Qin Yan, what face does she have to hate him!?
He licked his lips, which were incredibly dry, and reached out to grab her arm, forcefully lifting Qin Yan off the sand with a brutish tug.
"Where’s your phone?"
"Give it to me!"
Qin Yan subconsciously covered her pocket, her emotions running high, her lips colorless like wilted petals.
"Give you my phone?"
"What, planning on getting a few random people to fool me?!"
"To clear your name in court? Bo Yunshen, in your dreams!"
Hot tears poured out from her eyes, the first time she felt such hatred for her own helplessness!
Even those harsh words she had once let slip, Qin Yan took them to heart, wishing she had a knife in her hands, wishing she could cut open Bo Yunshen’s heart to see what color it really was!
She felt utterly despondent and forcefully shook off Bo Yunshen’s hand.
She didn’t want to cry, but the tears were uncontrollable.
Pointing at Bo Yunshen, her voice trembled fiercely: "Bo Yunshen, you will regret this! You will regret it!"
Regret?
Bo Yunshen felt like his breath had been cut off, what regret did he have?
Whether Qin Yinyin is dead or alive, it has nothing to do with him!
