Chapter 172: Chapter 172: Yunshen, This Road is Very Dangerous

Bo Yunshen furrowed his brows, a wave of nausea washing over him.

The matter with Qin Yinyin had better not be related to Qin Yan!

Otherwise, Qin Yan wouldn’t get off easily with her theatrics of crying, making scenes, and threatening to hang herself!

He was not someone to be trifled with.

Bo Yunshen’s face turned even darker than the sky above.

He strode with purpose, feeling inexplicably relieved knowing that Qin Yinyin was alright, his only thought now was to quickly descend the mountain and change out of his wet clothes!

However, he had only taken a few steps when he was blocked by Qin Yan.

Narrowing his eyes, he cast Qin Yan a cold glance, the menace slowly seeped from the depth of his gaze.

"Move aside!"

Qin Yan didn’t budge, "Yunshen, you’re going the wrong way."

Bo Yunshen’s lips were pressed into a tight line—was he the one who had lost his way?

How many times had she been to the Bo Family’s ancestral hall?

There were three paths leading down the mountain, and the one he had chosen was the quickest!

"Move! Don’t make me repeat myself a third time!"

The rain was growing heavier, and where Qin Yan and Bo Yunshen stood, the terrain was lower, rainwater gathering around their feet, threatening to rise above their ankles.

A flash of disgust flickered through Bo Yunshen’s eyes.

"Yunshen, if we go back the way we came, we’ll pass by the mountain with the highest risk of collapse. With the rain pouring so heavily, I’m afraid of falling rocks. If we continue forward, it might be a longer route, but at least it’s safe!"

Qin Yan’s voice had an urgent tone: "Besides, the original path is too slippery with moss; it’s far too dangerous!"

Bo Yunshen’s pupils contracted.

He was aware of the route Qin Yan was talking about.

Since the mountain had been secured by the Bo Family for their ancestral hall, the back of the mountain was undeveloped, with no clear path at all, just rotting leaves, deadwood, and muddy trails.

Taking that route would guarantee he’d be covered in mud from head to toe!

He shook off Qin Yan’s hand forcefully, his face hidden behind the veil of rain.

Qin Yan stumbled slightly, Bo Yunshen’s icy, biting voice reaching her:

"Director Qin’s suggestion is quite the coincidence. Even if the way I’ve chosen leads to my death, I intend to follow it through to the end. You needn’t worry!"

Qin Yan’s breath hitched as she met Bo Yunshen’s eyes.

A trace of shallow sarcasm was evident in them.

She had an unsettling feeling that Bo Yunshen wasn’t talking about a mere physical path, but rather about Lin Man.

"I’m just trying to look out for your welfare. If we really encounter a landslide, both of us could die here!? Yunshen, wouldn’t you find it regrettable to die alongside me?"

Bo Yunshen scoffed, his features taking on a sinister sheen in the torrential rain.

"Scared of dying now, are we? What was Director Qin jumping into rivers for then? Qin Yinyin is fine; I suggest you quit while you’re ahead and stop provoking me!"

"Why are you so set on taking this route?!" Qin Yan wiped away the rain, asking calmly.

"Why? Because you don’t plan on taking it. I don’t want to see you, lest you dirtied my eyes. Is that reason good enough for you?"

After saying this, Bo Yunshen pushed past Qin Yan.

Her face paled. Over the years, Bo Yunshen’s way of speaking had been direct, with no beats around the bush, and completely inconsiderate of one’s face.

Qin Yan felt breathless from his piercing words.

His words made her feel utterly shameless!

Qin Yan stood stunned for a few seconds, but Bo Yunshen had already passed her and was walking back the way they came.

Hesitating for a moment, Qin Yan still worriedly chased after him!

As the rain fell harder and harder, Bo Yunshen moved swiftly. Qin Yan followed closely behind, stretching out her hand to grasp Bo Yunshen’s arm, forcing him to stop.

"Yunshen, this road is very dangerous!"

Qin Yan was anxious, pointing to the tallest peak, "The one that had the landslide previously is right above this road. The rain isn’t stopping; instead, it’s getting heavier. Even if we don’t encounter a landslide, there could still be falling rocks!"

"Just listen to me this once, we still have time to go back and take another road!"

Qin Yan was the Director of Marketing, often following projects, and although she didn’t have a deep study of geology, she still had some understanding.

This road was truly dangerous.

Bo Yunshen’s eyes narrowed as he turned back to grab Qin Yan, pushing her a distance away.

It had only been about ten minutes since they started descending the mountain, and in Bo Yunshen’s eyes, Qin Yan was just exaggerating!

Braving the storm could be such a good opportunity to build a relationship, once their daughter was safe, Qin Yan would be in the mood for romance!

He didn’t have that kind of patience!

"Director Qin, if you really had such a good sense of safety, would you have been locked in the Night Club’s restroom by Tang Tian?"

"Yunshen..."

"Shut up!"

Bo Yunshen shouted coldly.

He was convinced that Qin Yan was talking nonsense.

Otherwise, would Qin Yan, who cherished her life so much, be willing to take this road with him?

Normally, Bo Yunshen might have actually listened to Qin Yan, spent an hour or two, and watched her make a fool of herself.

But now, Bo Yunshen couldn’t stand the feeling of his clothes and gauze sticking to his body for even a second.

He strode forward, continuing his journey.

Qin Yan looked up at that mountain peak; the rain was so heavy that she could not see clearly, but she had the faint feeling that the mountain itself was about to collapse.

Qin Yan decided she must be seeing things wrong. Bo Yunshen was injured, and she really didn’t feel at ease letting him go alone.

Carrying a sliver of hope in her heart, it was just a matter of about ten minutes; she and Bo Yunshen shouldn’t be so unlucky.

The mountain, which had not collapsed earlier or later, couldn’t just collapse as soon as they walked this road, could it?!

Setting her mindset, she followed Bo Yunshen step by step.

The mountain path was difficult, and with the rain, it was even harder.

The distance between Qin Yan and Bo Yunshen gradually widened, and she felt a bit anxious, subconsciously quickening her pace.

Her foot slipped, and she nearly tumbled down the mountain.

Qin Yan was so frightened her heart almost leapt out of her chest; she stood holding onto a tree trunk for a while, trying to calm her heartbeat.

Small pebbles rolled to Qin Yan’s feet.

Pebbles?

Her pupils constricted sharply, and goosebumps rose along her spine.

Qin Yan instinctively looked up, her heart stopped.

"Yunshen!"

Bo Yunshen walked with steady steps, not rushing blindly ahead; with each step, he avoided the moss and prevented slipping down the stairs, avoiding any danger.

Qin Yan’s voice was hurried and shrill; he didn’t have time to turn around before someone pushed him hard from behind.

Leaning forward, he stabilized his body, running a few steps before stopping.

"What are you—" Crazy.

The last word stuck in his throat.

He turned around, only to see Qin Yan hit by falling rocks from the mountain, especially her lower leg, slashed by a sharp stone, blood diffusing with the rainwater, spreading beneath her, causing Bo Yunshen a huge visual shock.

She lay on the ground, the rain curtain obscuring most of Bo Yunshen’s vision, he couldn’t see Qin Yan’s chest moving, only feeling she was like a cold, lifeless body.
