Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Mom, I Always Respect You
Fang Weiwei walked a few steps forward and grabbed Qin Yan’s arm, whispering softly,
"Sister, mom is upset because of Yunshen’s injury and spoke in anger. Why bother arguing with her about it? Could you say less, and let Yinyin suffer a little injustice?"
Suffer injustice?
Qin Yan snickered. Over the years, hadn’t Yinyin suffered enough while being with her?
Mocked by classmates, insulted by teachers and other students’ parents—that was behind her back, but now it had escalated right in her face!
Mrs. Bo was a mother, but she was also a mother!
Seeing Qin Yan show no signs of yielding, Shen Ruyun’s face darkened and said, "Sister, don’t be ungrateful. At this critical moment, even if you’re not worried about your brother’s injury, how can you still have the mood to argue with mom over such things!"
"You’re truly cold-hearted!"
"Mom didn’t say anything wrong, spending the Bo Family’s money, what’s wrong with scolding a little? If it were me, I would have taken action a long time ago!"
Because Qin Yan just glared at Shen Ruyun and Jiang Xue briefly, the two grew bolder and uttered more words.
Qin Yan didn’t have the time to argue with Shen Ruyun and Jiang Xue; she didn’t want Qin Yinyin to overthink and didn’t want her to bear the heavy label of "bastard" at such a young age!
Thus, whether it was through scolding or persuasion, Qin Yan did not back down. Looking at Mrs. Bo, she picked up on her previous statement:
"Mom, you are of a certain age and not in good health. You have contributed to the Bo family by giving birth to four sons, and of course, dad wouldn’t hit you. But bringing Yinyin to the old house was Yunshen’s idea, whether dad will take his anger out on Yunshen, I really don’t know..."
Bo Yunshen was Mrs. Bo’s darling son, and Qin Yan’s words struck her heart like a knife!
She was very angry, yet, Qin Yan firmly pinched her soft spot.
"You!"
After squeezing out a word through her clenched teeth, Mrs. Bo took several deep breaths, unable to speak.
However, Mrs. Bo’s silence didn’t mean Qin Yan had nothing to say.
Qin Yan tilted her head slightly, her eyes rimming with a hint of pink. She licked her lips, turned her head, met Mrs. Bo’s eyes, and added, "Mom, I have always respected you."
Respect?
Mrs. Bo scoffed!
What respect!
If Qin Yan had had any respect for her, she should have known how important Yunshen was to her!
When Bo Yuanshan asked for family discipline, Qin Yan should have advised him!
Instead, she just stood here, watching impassively!
If Qin Yan had respected her, she wouldn’t have embarrassed her in front of so many people, insisting she apologize to a child who understood nothing!
If she bowed today and apologized to Qin Yinyin, what face would she have in front of Qin Yan later?
Should this spread, how could she face anyone in Tong City’s elite circles?
Mrs. Bo looked at Qin Yan with poisonous eyes!
She didn’t believe Qin Yan would actually turn against her over a title, storm into the study, and tattle on her to Yuanshan!
Thinking so, she straightened her body and even shifted her gaze away from Qin Yan.
Qin Yan, being no fool, clearly knew Mrs. Bo meant she wouldn’t apologize to Qin Yinyin!
Qin Yan lowered her head and moved Qin Yinyin’s hand slightly, forcing the girl to take a step.
The girl looked up, her eyes wide like dark grapes, staring straight at Qin Yan, her voice soft and sweet, "Mom, where are we going?"
As she spoke, four other pairs of eyes in the living room also fell on Qin Yan.
Qin Yan hardened her face, and though her tone was cold, it carried a palpable softness when she addressed Qin Yinyin:
"Go ask Grandpa if Yinyin is a bastard!"
She was about to move when Fang Weiwei and three other sisters-in-law stopped her.
Fang Weiwei’s face showed a hint of anxiousness, "My dear sister, please don’t be angry, may I apologize on behalf of Mother?"
"Apologize for what? Qin Yan, do you think your fourth brother has not suffered enough, his body is already bruised and battered by father, and you still want to go in?!" Jiang Xue’s words had a bite, "Do you want father to beat Yunshen to death?"
"And do you think the Bo Family hasn’t suffered enough? Must our parents be utterly childless for you to be satisfied?"
Qin Yan’s gaze slowly drifted across Jiang Xue and Shen Ruyun’s faces, finally she spoke after a long pause, "Are you done?"
Shen Ruyun and Jiang Xue exchanged a look, the intensity of Qin Yan’s gaze made their hearts pound, and upon hearing her speak, neither dared to utter a sound.
"If you’re done, move aside!"
Qin Yan’s tone was chilly, Shen Ruyun pushed Jiang Xue, and the two reluctantly cleared a path!
Just as she was about to move, Mrs. Bo rushed over, blocking the way of Qin Yan and her daughter, her voice loud, "I apologize! I apologize, alright?! Just spare Yunshen, and spare this old life of mine too!"
If something truly bad happened to Bo Yunshen, she wouldn’t be able to live on!
After Mrs. Bo finished speaking, Qin Yan’s face relaxed, and her expression softened. She bent down slightly, looked into Qin Yinyin’s eyes, and said, "Yinyin, Grandma just told Mom that she said something wrong. She’s sorry for what she said to Yinyin and will take good care of Yinyin from now on. Would Yinyin accept her apology?"
Mrs. Bo pursed her lips, if it weren’t for Qin Yan threatening her with Yunshen, she wouldn’t have apologized!
Now putting on airs in front of her, wasn’t she just flaunting that she, Qin Yan, had defeated her?
It was her fault!
She had provoked this cold-hearted devil and dragged her only son into this mess!
Facing Yunshen, how could Qin Yan possibly be at a disadvantage?
Only Bo Yuanshan, that stubborn old fool, would believe Yunshen had beaten Qin Yan!
Mrs. Bo’s body tensed badly, fearing that Qin Yinyin wouldn’t "forgive" her, leading Qin Yan back to the study room to spin tales!
After all, Qin Yinyin was raised by Qin Yan, who knew if she would be as petty as her mother?
Qin Yinyin moved slightly, then suddenly spoke up, "Mommy, I am willing."
Mrs. Bo sighed in relief, Qin Yan stretched out her hand, caressed Qin Yinyin’s head, and with a softened gaze and voice said, "If you are willing, then in front of everyone, call her Grandma again and let Grandma hug you."
Qin Yinyin nodded, though she was somewhat fearful of Mrs. Bo, this small fear was overcome by her longing for her grandparents.
The little girl walked up to Mrs. Bo, took hold of the hem of her clothes, and asked, "Grandma, can you hug me?"
Mrs. Bo’s body again stiffened.
What exactly did Qin Yan mean by this?
Wasn’t she afraid that she would intentionally drop her precious daughter?
Besides, why should she hug Qin Yinyin?
She wasn’t Yunshen’s child!
Was Qin Yan using Yunshen’s injury to threaten her, forcing her to acknowledge this child of uncertain paternity?
Mrs. Bo didn’t respond, and Qin Yinyin felt a bit dejected, yet she didn’t give up and moved forward a little more, wrapping her chubby little hands around one of Mrs. Bo’s legs.
