"Qingtian, why are you here?" Cheng Bingbing asked, looking a bit surprised.

"I heard you’ve been performing really well on set lately, so I thought I’d pick you up since they wrapped up early today. I was also planning on visiting Huo Qilin in the hospital." Xia Qingtian gestured towards the passenger side of her car, saying, "Get in."

Cheng Bingbing quickly hopped into the car.

They both arrived at the hospital. While they were there, a nurse was taking Huo Qilin out for a stroll.

"Bingbing, why don’t you keep Qilin company? I’ll go and ask the doctor about his recovery." Xia Qingtian decided not to intrude on their time together and walked off towards the hospital building.

Xia Qingtian signs a doctor to ask about the Huo Qilin’s condition.

He had a national tour concert planned and had met with a serious accident. She wanted to know when he could return to the stage.

If he couldn’t return soon, she thought she could consider delaying the tour.

But thankfully, the doctor said he will have recovered enough by the day of the tour, as long as he didn’t push himself.

Getting the details, Xia Qingtian was planning on taking her leave after talking to Cheng Bingbing and Huo Qilin.

But when she met them, before she could even speak, Cheng Bingbing, looking quite pale, said, "Qingtian, could you please take care of Qilin for a sec? I need to take a call."

At first, Xia Qingtian was confused about Cheng Bingbing’s pale appearance. But upon hearing about the phone call, she understood.

She was already handling herself better than before.

"Alright." She agreed, not asking further.

If Cheng Bingbing wanted to talk, she would tell her. If not, no amount of pestering would help. Everyone had their privacy, including Bingbing.

With Xia Qingtian taking care of Huo Qilin, Cheng Bingbing moved away with her phone.

The call was from a strange number, but she instinctively knew who it was.

She moved away from Xia Qingtian and Huo Qilin, far enough so they wouldn’t hear the call. She then answered, and as expected, it was the familiar voice on the other side.

"I’ve given you several days. Why haven’t you broken up with Huo Qilin yet?" the man on the other end sounded displeased.

Hearing the man’s presumptuous words and thinking of the suffering Huo Qilin had gone through, all her fear turned into anger.

Her eyes reddened from anger, "You don’t need to give me time to think, I can firmly tell you now, I will not leave Qilin because of you, stop bothering me."

"Your child..." the man pointed out.

"Don’t talk about the child in my belly!" Cheng Bingbing shouted angrily, "This child is mine and has absolutely nothing to do with you! If you dare bother me or hurt those around me using this child as an excuse, then..."

She paused for effect, "I will abort it!"

By the time she finished, she lost control of her temper, shouting out in anger, "So stop harassing me!"

Perhaps scared by her declaration, the man remained silent for a while.

Soon, he asked, as if he had thought of something, "Would you really?"

Her eyes reddened further, gritting her teeth she responded, "I wouldn’t have on a normal day. But when I think about how this child bears your unethical blood, it disgusts me."

Seeing her disgust for him, the man’s eyes flashed with malevolence.

"Cheng Bingbing, are you looking for death?" His voice was chilling.

Cheng Bingbing’s heart was filled with recklessness. She didn’t fear his threats. Freed from his grasp, she mocked him, "Better dead than with you. If you have the guts, kill me. It’s far better than living in agony with a disgusting man like you."

After she finished, she promptly hung up the call.

She knew her words had provoked him, but she was unafraid.

Because Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan had assigned someone to protect Huo Qilin, the man wouldn’t be able to touch him easily. As for her, the worst thing he could do was force her into death. It wasn’t something to be scared of.

Her biggest fear was getting those close to her involved!

After the call, Cheng Bingbing paced about to calm herself before returning.

When she returned, Xia Qingtian and Huo Qilin were discussing the upcoming tour arrangements.

"I didn’t mean to pry into your privacy, so could you please not blame me for butting in?" She looked at her, somewhat hoping.

Hearing Xia Qingtian, Cheng Bingbing’s heart raced and her breath quickened.

"Qingtian, don’t say that. I know you only have my interests at heart. I don’t blame you." She strangled her hand in anxiousness, "So, who was behind Qilin’s accident?"

She wanted to know more about this man. His name, his power, everything.

Not out of curiosity, but simply because she wanted to stay away from everything related to him.
