"Why have you brought me here?" Xia Qingtian, her arms wrapped around Bo Jingyan’s neck, found herself on the rooftop of a hospital.

"I’ve arranged for someone to keep watch below. Without my permission, no one will come up to disturb us," Bo Jingyan said, his gaze burning into the woman in his arms.

Xia Qingtian felt a shiver run down her spine under his stare.

Every time Bo Jingyan looked at her like that, she felt like she was being completely devoured.

Even though he’d arranged for no one to disturb them, the fact that they were in a hospital didn’t change. If he did anything to her here, she’d be too ashamed to show her face in the future.

Upon realizing this, Xia Qingtian’s face changed.

"Let me go first!" she struggled, trying to free herself from Bo Jingyan’s embrace.

After taking a long rest, her strength had come back, and she wasn’t as feeble as before.

This time, Bo Jingyan obediently complied and let go of Xia Qingtian.

The moment her feet hit the ground, she tried to put some distance between herself and the man before her. But after only two steps back, he grabbed her arm and pinned her against the wall.

Their bodies were now pressed tightly against one another.

Xia Qingtian could distinctly feel Bo Jingyan’s warm breath on her face. It gave her a strange heat and her heart was pounding uncontrollably.

She bit her lip, reminding Bo Jingyan lightly, "Hey, we’re in a hospital..."

"I know," Bo Jingyan replied, his deep-set eyes still burning as he looked at her.

Even after Xia Qingtian’s warning, he showed no signs of letting go. If anything, his gaze had grown even more intense and passionate as if he couldn’t help but devour her.

Her heart skipped a beat. She decided to be more direct, "Bo Jingyan, I don’t want to be doing anything unusual in a hospital."

"Unusual?" Bo Jingyan blinked, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Soon enough, he caught sight of her blushing face and understood what she had meant by ’unusual’.

He couldn’t help asking, a mix of amusement and disbelief in his voice, "Do you see me as an overly... eager man?"

"Aren’t you?" Xia Qingtian shot back.

How could Bo Jingyan ask her this without feeling embarrassed? Didn’t he behave exactly like that often?

Whenever they met in recent times, hadn’t he left her aching all over?

If he wasn’t overly eager, who else could be?

Bo Jingyan’s eyes flashed with mischief. "So, my dear wife knows me so well. I quite fancy the idea of devouring you this very moment," he said.

Then he leaned in, looking like he was about to kiss her.

Xia Qingtian instinctively closed her eyes, turning her face away.

Bo Jingyan deftly turned her face towards him, only to see her keep her eyes shut, her long eyelashes shivering restlessly.

His attractive face bore a devilish grin as he found amusement in the girl’s reaction.

Xia Qingtian waited for a while, and when Bo Jingyan didn’t make a move, she tentatively opened her eyes.

She was met with Bo Jingyan’s face, a look of amusement on it.

Bo Jingyan currently looked nothing like he had any intentions of bullying her. Realizing that something felt off, she blurted out, "Why didn’t you..."

She was about to ask Bo Jingyan why he hadn’t kissed her.

But she stopped midway because, if she were to ask that, it sounded like she was blaming him for not kissing her, as if she were eagerly anticipating it.

Even though she didn’t ask the full question, Bo Jingyan could guess what she was about to ask based on how well they knew each other.

"You wanted to ask me why I didn’t kiss you?" he asked, smiling faintly. "Are you disappointed?"

Xia Qingtian wished the ground would swallow her up.

Indeed, her earlier statement could easily have been misunderstood.

No matter, she felt compelled to clarify, "Not at all! I was just puzzled because you were giving me all those suggestive looks and yet you didn’t do anything."

Bo Jingyan smirked, "I don’t recall wanting to do anything ’unusual’."

Seeing him trying to deflect blame, she said, "You were giving me ’that’ look. How can you deny wanting to do something unusual?"

Bo Jingyan couldn’t resist flicking her forehead lightly, "I just missed seeing you for two days. Upon seeing you, I was merely looking at you, wondering what might be going on in that pretty little head of yours."

Though he had flicked her, it was light and didn’t hurt her.

She looked at Bo Jingyan doubtfully, "Really?"

"Of course. Being intimate, especially in a hospital, if someone saw us, you would be the one to get hurt," Bo Jingyan said with a sigh, "I love you and I don’t have time for anything else but looking out for you. Would I do something to hurt you? Think about it. Isn’t that so?"

Xia Qingtian pressed her lips together.

She hadn’t ever doubted Bo Jingyan’s love for her and believed that he would never do anything to harm her.

Maybe, she really had misunderstood him?

Realizing this, Xia Qingtian felt intensely embarrassed. If there was a hole nearby, she’d have liked to hide in it.

With her blushing cheeks, no matter from which angle Bo Jingyan looked, he found her irresistibly adorable. He couldn’t help but tease her, "But... if you really wanted, I’m not opposed to satisfying you!"

"I don’t want to! Not at all!" Xia Qingtian rejected him, embarassed.

Bo Jingyan only wished to tease her a little and didn’t really want to upset her, he soothes, "Alright, alright. I know."

While speaking, he led Xia Qingtian to the edge of the rooftop. After cleaning a spot with his handkerchief for her to sit, he guides her to the spot.

Then he pulls rigid Xia Qingtian into his arms.

The thought of missing Bo Jingyan overcame Xia Qingtian and she relaxed into his arms after some struggle.

Pressing into Bo Jingyan’s chest, she asked, "By the way, how is your mother? Has her condition improved?"
