Chapter 721: Chapter 721 She Can’t Bear to Let Go of the Young Mr. Bo_1
At the mention of Shi Qian, a hint of aversion flashed across Bo Jingyan’s profound eyes.
"Actually, you don’t need to worry about her that much!" He furrowed his brows, attempting to persuade her.
But Xia Qingtian didn’t heed his words. Instead, she advised him, "You’ve put up with it for so long. There’s no need to falter at this crucial moment. Once your mother is genuinely cured, you can do anything you want!"
Bo Jingyan still looked somewhat unhappy, but at least he listened to her.
"Alright, I’ll listen to you, I’ll do whatever you say." He eventually gave in.
To comfort him, Xia Qingtian took a step closer, rose onto her tiptoes, and gently kissed his lips, "All right, don’t be mad any more."
Bo Jingyan’s cold demeanor softened slightly at this.
He wrapped an arm around Xia Qingtian’s waist and protested discontentedly, "I want more."
Xia Qingtian, somewhat helpless, nonetheless acquiesced. She moved in again to kiss him, intending to pull away shortly, but he held her tight around the waist.
Their bodies were instantly flushed against each other, Bo Jingyan entwined his lips with hers in a passionate kiss, full of possessiveness.
Xia Qingtian’s legs were weak from the sweep of his kiss, yet she held on thanks to Bo Jingyan tightly holding her waist, preventing her from collapsing onto the ground.
Just as she felt she was about to suffocate, Bo Jingyan finally let her go.
He reached out his calloused finger, gently brushed her rosy lips, and said contentedly, "I’m very pleased with this parting gift you’ve given me. The next time we part, let’s hug goodbye like this."
After a few moments of panting, Xia Qingtian finally regained her composure.
She glared at Bo Jingyan irritably, but instead of quarreling with him, she pushed him away, creating some distance between them, and urged him, "Alright, you can go now."
Bo Jingyan, however, didn’t leave. He suggested, "Let’s wait until your assistant arrives."
He couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Xia Qingtian alone on the beach, afraid she might encounter danger. He insisted on ensuring her assistant arrived to pick her up before leaving.
Xia Qingtian understood his concern. The annoyance she felt only moments ago, due to her weak knees from the intensity of his kiss, was soothed instantly.
She nodded her approval, "Alright, stay with me here."
Shortly after, her assistant arrived, driving towards them.
Xia Qingtian waved at Bo Jingyan, announcing, "I should go now."
"Mhm." Bo Jingyan merely nodded.
Xia Qingtian got into the car and the assistant immediately started the vehicle.
After the car drove away, although she had assumed Bo Jingyan would also depart, Xia Qingtian couldn’t help taking another look. She noticed Bo Jingyan was still standing there, quietly watching in the direction of her departure.
Even at this distance, she couldn’t see the expression on Bo Jingyan’s face, but she could imagine his eyes filled with reluctance to part.
Suddenly, bitterness overwhelmed her heart.
Despite their mutual love and overcoming numerous obstacles to be together, they found themselves constantly being pulled apart for various reasons.
It seemed immensely difficult for them to remain by each other’s sides!
At this moment, Xia Qingtian felt a sudden impulse to ask the assistant to turn back, to give Bo Jingyan another hug.
But in the end, impulse is just impulse.
She managed to restrain herself.
After the car turned a corner, Bo Jingyan’s figure completely disappeared from her sight.
Xia Qingtian withdrew her gaze, her mood deflated for the remainder of the journey.
Noticing Xia Qingtian’s low spirit, her assistant remained silent, not daring to say another word.
Just like that, the car drove back to the city in silence.
While passing a mobile phone shop, Xia Qingtian remembered she didn’t have a phone at present, so she asked her assistant to stop the car and bought a new one. A shop that sold SIM cards was conveniently located nearby.
In less than ten minutes, she held a new phone in her hands.
Using the old phone, she transferred all the data to her new device.
Then she discovered a flurry of missed calls.
There were calls from both Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing.
Xia Qingtian wondered if they had some good news to share.
Just as she was about to return their calls, the car came to a stop, and the assistant reminded her, "Miss Xia, we have arrived at the company."
Looking up, Xia Qingtian realized they were in the company’s underground parking garage.
She reluctantly put away her phone, planning to call them once she was back in her office to inquire if there was indeed good news.
However, when she went into her office, she found a man sleeping with his back turned to her on her office desk.
The figure appeared familiar to Xia Qingtian – it looked like Huo Qilin.
But what could Huo Qilin possibly be doing in her office instead of being with his girlfriend?
She walked over and tapped his shoulder.
Huo Qilin woke up with a jolt.
"Why are you here instead of being with your girlfriend?" Xia Qingtian flippantly asked while hanging her bag on the coat stand.
Huo Qilin stayed silent, not answering her question.
Feeling puzzled, she turned her gaze towards him, and got a shock when she saw his face. Huo Qilin looked awful — his face was haggard and his eyes bloodshot.
If it hadn’t been his familiar face, she would’ve thought that an unknown vagabond was sitting in front of her instead of a famous artist.
She had not seen him in this state since the time when he got into a fight on the set and then holed up in a bar for days on end. Surely he wasn’t binging at the bar again?
But then, it didn’t seem plausible!
The day before yesterday, Huo Qilin called her to announce he would confess his feelings to Cheng Bingbing the next day.
Xia Qingtian was now utterly confused.
She looked at Huo Qilin in bewilderment and asked, "What happened to you? How did your confession with Bingbing turn out yesterday?"
"I failed!" Huo Qilin responded with a self-deprecating smile.
Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian bulged her eyes out in disbelief.
"How is that possible?" She reflexively denied.
How could it possibly fail?
Huo Qilin loves Cheng Bingbing and she loves him too, even before he fell for her. Upon receiving his confession, she should have happily accepted it, which would then lead them into a sweet, romantic relationship.
How did it end in a failed confession only?
Seeing her disbelief, Huo Qilin bitterly smiled, "What’s so impossible about it? I’d be delighted if only she had agreed, then I wouldn’t be feeling this wretched."
