Shi Qian’s hand held a high-stemmed glass, gleefully watching her.

From the expression on Shi Qian’s face, it was easy for Xia Qingtian to know that the red wine spilt on her wasn’t accidental at all.

Shi Qian actually did this on purpose!

Xia Qingtian’s face suddenly fell, radiating a compelling aura.

At that, Shi Qian abruptly stepped back in fright.

Quickly recovering, she began to color, turning pale then flushing. A hint of humiliation was evident in her eyes.

She didn’t understand why Xia Qingtian, who had been cast aside by her husband, could still be so lofty?

"Why are you glaring at me like that?" Shi Qian shot back defiantly, adding, "It’s your fault that you got hit by wine. I had already moved aside and yet you didn’t react— you have only yourself to blame."

A sense of satisfaction washed over her once she finished speaking.

She’d learned that the reason Huo Qilin and Cheng Bingbing stole the show walking the red carpet together was not part of the host’s plan. It was in fact the shameless Xia Qingtian who made it happen.

So all her time and effort, as well as the expensive outfit and jewelry that she hoped would make a splash, were all wasted because of Xia Qingtian.

Xia Qingtian was the absolute culprit!

Realizing this made Shi Qian feel sick to her stomach.

Xia Qingtian smiled subtly, "So I had to avoid your wine with my back turned? You mean, I should have eyes on the back of my head, right?"

Having a hint that Shi Qian had done this on purpose, she didn’t respond but retorted stubbornly, "Anyways, it’s still your fault for not avoiding it. You can’t blame others!"

"Oh, so you’re saying if someone throws wine at you and you don’t avoid it, it’s your bad luck?" Xia Qingtian nodded in understanding, then slowly asked.

Shi Qian found her words strange but couldn’t pinpoint where it went wrong.

Overwhelmed, she nodded subconsciously, "Yes, that’s exactly what I mean!"

"I think that’s really rational!" Xia Qingtian started clapping for her, a sign of agreement and praise.

A hint of eeriness overtook Shi Qian as she looked at her, like was observing an idiot.

"You should know...Ah..." Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly screamed uncontrollably.

Xia Qingtian picked up a glass of wine from a passing waiter and splashed it onto Shi Qian’s face, interrupting her mid-sentence and eliciting a cry of shock.

Shi Qian wiped the wine stains off her face only to discover the priceless dress she wore was stained and became upset.

The dress, borrowed after much effort and time from the Bo family, was not for sale by the brand.

Furthermore, Mrs. Bo had recently been negotiating with the brand and even used the Bo family’s reputation to help Shi Qian become the brand’s spokesperson.

She ruined the dress!

The brand would definitely be angry, and might think she didn’t respect them. All the hard work Mrs. Bo has put in to make her the spokesperson would fail.

When she realized the gravity of the situation, Shi Qian’s eyes filled with rage.

"Xia Qingtian, you bitch! I’m gonna kill you!" she snapped, lifting her hand to slap Xia Qingtian.

How could Xia Qingtian just stand there and allow herself to be hit?

She raised her hand and grabbed Shi Qian’s wrist, leaving her palm hanging in mid-air.

A smirk curved her lips as she retorted, "Miss Shi, what’s wrong? Why are you suddenly so angry?"

Shi Qian tried to pull her hand free.

For some reason, Xia Qingtian seemed unusually strong, and she couldn’t free herself.

She glared at Xia Qingtian hatefully, "You ruined this dress, Xia Qingtian! Do you have any idea of its value? Be prepared to pay for it and receive a lawyer’s letter."

Xia Qingtian was unphased by her threat.

She looked at Shi Qian mischievously, "What’s that got to do with me? I didn’t hold the glass steady and spilled some wine. If you didn’t avoid it and got hit that’s on you, not others!"

Shi Qian was speechless, her statement just thrown back at her.

Her attempts to argue were futile.

No matter what she said it was tantamount to slapping her own face.

Never did she imagine that Xia Qingtian could be so ruthless, to the point of soaking her in wine!

Seeing that she had no more to say, Xia Qingtian, who no longer bothered to give her any attention, no longer wanted to waste her time on her.

If Shi Qian hadn’t intentionally provoked her and spilled wine on her, Xia Qingtian wouldn’t have wasted her precious socializing time on her.

The time spent on her would be better used to network and help her company grow.

Xia Qingtian turned around a little annoyed, looking at Shi Qian frowningly. Exasperated, she asked, "We’ve already settled the matters. Now what do you want...?"

Before Xia Qingtian could finish her sentence, Shi Qian who was ashen-faced, stormed towards her, intending to rip her dress.

Shi Qian with the look was far from a normal human.

Startled, Xia Qingtian took a step back to put some distance between them.

But Shi Qian wasn’t about to let her go. She doggedly pursued Xia Qingtian until she got her into a corner where nobody was paying attention.
