Just as Huo Qilin was about to agree, Cheng Bingbing abruptly declined without any hesitation.

Cheng Bingbing was well aware that Xia Qingtian had only her best interests at heart; however, her abrupt rejection demanded an explanation.

"Because..." She nervously fiddled with her fingers as she spoke softly, "I don’t want to take advantage of him. This feud is between Shi Qian and me. I don’t want him to get involved, and moreover..."

She paused before continuing, "I know he doesn’t like the speculative rumors of the entertainment industry. He just wants to focus on his music and enjoy the stage."

Upon hearing this, Huo Qilin looked up in surprise at Cheng Bingbing.

He had not expected the reason behind Cheng Bingbing’s refusal to be consideration for him, as she hadn’t taken her own interests into account at all!
