She’d just borrowed a charger from a waiter and had successfully charged her phone.

"What...What’s wrong?" All she felt was that everything was happening for no reason at all.

She didn’t think she had done anything to provoke Bo Jingyan. Even if he was upset about something, he shouldn’t take it out on her, should he?

Furthermore, she didn’t understand why Bo Jingyan would give her such a large amount.

"What are you giving me this for?" she asked, trying to return the check to Bo Jingyan.

Bo Jingyan, however, had no intention of taking it back and said directly, "It’s for your investment..."

Xia Qingtian’s hand holding the check froze in place and she stared at him, "What do you mean by that?"

Seeing her like this, Bo Jingyan simply laid it out, "Xia Qingtian, you’ve been seeking investments recently, but things haven’t been going well. Today, you suffered from low blood sugar because the other company played you around. You had waited in the company for a whole day, and when I met you earlier, you had just left that company."

As he had been away from A City for quite some time, he had only found out about this recently. He had simply asked Jian Xuan to investigate, and in less than a meal’s time, Jian Xuan had found out what had happened to Xia Qingtian during this period.

Xia Qingtian instantly understood that the call that upset Bo Jingyan just now must have something to do with this.

She spoke in a calm tone, "I can handle these things on my own."

With that, she tried to return the check to Bo Jingyan.

However, Bo Jingyan showed no intention of accepting it. Her hand stayed mid-air, becoming uncomfortable after a while. She didn’t want to trouble herself any longer.

So she put the check on the table and pushed it toward Bo Jingyan.

Bo Jingyan frowned and said, "This is an investment for you."

"I’ve said before, I don’t need it. If I want investment, I will seek it myself." Xia Qingtian’s eyebrows deepened, and she spoke stubbornly and forcefully.

"So, you can humble yourself to seek investment from others, but you cannot accept my investment?"
