Chapter 575: Chapter 575 I will always be there_1

Watching the coming and going crowd at the Civil Affairs Bureau, Xia Qingtian couldn’t help but feel a little relieved.

Luckily, she had arrived early, otherwise, she had no idea when she would be able to get divorced. If she had been a bit unlucky, she might not even have been able to divorce today and would have had to delay it further.

As time ticked away, her number was about to be called.

But Bo Jingyan had not yet arrived.

Xia Qingtian was becoming anxious. If she missed this turn, they would have to start all over again.

And now there were more than eighty couples lined up behind her for divorce paperwork.

Should she really start queuing again?

Xia Qingtian had no suspicion that Bo Jingyan was intentionally delaying things because he didn’t want to divorce.

The Bo Jingyan she knew always kept his word. If he said he would do something, he would definitely do it. It must be that something had delayed him.

She had better give him a call to hurry him up.

However, just as she had dialed Bo Jingyan’s number on her phone, she realized something.

She wasn’t sure if Bo Jingyan had removed her from his blacklist.

Xia Qingtian thought about borrowing someone else’s phone to call him, but before she could move, the couple beside her suddenly began arguing and even started pushing each other.

Caught off guard, the wife staggered and bumped into Xia Qingtian.

Unprepared, Xia Qingtian could only feel a strong force coming at her. Her body immediately lost balance and she fell backward. Scared, she closed her eyes immediately.

In her mind, she was cursing her bad luck and hoped that the fall wouldn’t be too serious, as it might affect her divorce with Bo Jingyan.

Just as Xia Qingtian was bracing for the impact, she felt a tight grip around her waist and found herself falling into a familiar embrace.

Suddenly, she was surrounded by a thick, masculine scent.

Her heart was pounding rapidly, not knowing if it was due to the sudden incident or the man who was now holding her.

"Are you okay?" asked the man behind her, his cold voice concealing a hint of concern.

Before she could even turn around, Xia Qingtian knew exactly who the man behind her was.

"I’m alright." She patted her beating chest to steady herself and relied on the man’s strength to stand up straight. Then, politely but distantly, she put some distance between them.

She turned to look at the man who had just saved her.

As expected, it was Bo Jingyan.

"Thank you for what happened just now," Xia Qingtian said, expressing her gratitude.

Seeing her distance herself from him, Bo Jingyan felt like a piece of his heart had been scooped out.

He frowned at Xia Qingtian and said, "You don’t have to be so polite with me."

Xia Qingtian remained neutral and did not continue the conversation. Instead, she brought up what was important, "I’ve taken our queue number. It should be our turn soon. Be prepared."

Even though he was prepared for this moment, Bo Jingyan still felt a suffocating pain in his heart.

He wanted to say something when the loudspeaker at the Civil Affairs Bureau suddenly announced their number.

Xia Qingtian glanced at the queue number in her hand and urged, "Our number is up. Let’s go."

Saying this, she quickly walked towards the window that had called their number.

After they left the Civil Affairs Bureau, the red marriage certificate in Bo Jingyan’s hand had turned into a purple divorce certificate.

"Take care of yourself in the future." Xia Qingtian placed the divorce certificate in her bag and prepared to hail a cab on the side of the road.

She hadn’t slept well last night and was feeling tired. Worried about becoming a danger on the road, she had taken a taxi to the Civil Affairs Bureau that morning.

Bo Jingyan caught up with her and offered, "You didn’t drive? Where are you going? I can give you a lift!"

"No need," Xia Qingtian said coldly. "Now that we’re divorced, we should keep some distance. Don’t contact me unless it’s necessary."

Bo Jingyan looked at her firmly. "So, just because we’re divorced, we can’t even be friends anymore?"

"A good ex should disappear like they’re dead, so they won’t disturb the eyes of the current one," Xia Qingtian said, pressing her lips together.

Upon hearing her words, Bo Jingyan’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

"So, are you ready to find a new one?" he asked, his hand tightly gripping her arm.

Xia Qingtian struggled a bit, trying to pull away, but his grip was too tight.

"You’re hurting me!" she said, knitting her brows.

Consciously, Bo Jingyan loosened his grip a bit, but he didn’t let go. He asked, "You still haven’t answered my question."

Xia Qingtian knew how stubborn he was. If she didn’t give him an answer, she probably wouldn’t be able to leave.

She sighed, feeling helpless. "I’m not planning to get involved in any relationships for the time being. But I’m still young, and the future is long. I can’t promise I won’t meet another man I like and want to spend the rest of my life with."

Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes flashed with a hint of gloom.

Even though Xia Qingtian was only speaking hypothetically and that it was virtually impossible, he still felt a strong sense of possession and jealousy.

He tried his best to keep his emotions in check, not wanting to scare the woman in front of him by revealing his overwhelming jealousy and possessiveness.

He casually remarked, "Even though we’re divorced, An’an is still my son. Just because we’re divorced doesn’t mean I won’t acknowledge him or sever my ties with him."

"I never asked you to break ties with An’an," Xia Qingtian quickly responded.

Even without Bo Jingyan, she would provide An’an with an abundance of love to make up for the lack of fatherly affection. However, since he has a father who still cares about him, she wouldn’t cut off their relationship.

Bo Jingyan’s facial expression finally softened a bit. "See, I will still have contact and dealings with you when I visit An’an in the future. You don’t need to be so resistant towards me and keep your distance."

To be fair, even Xia Qingtian had to admit that he made a good point.

"It’s hard to get a cab around here. Let me drop you off," Bo Jingyan proposed again.

Xia Qingtian didn’t believe him at all. It was very easy to get a cab here. Even if she couldn’t, she could just hail one using a ride-hailing app. There was absolutely no need for him to give her a lift.

But judging by Bo Jingyan’s manner, if she didn’t let him drop her off, he did not seem like he would give up.

After all, offering her a simple ride didn’t mean anything.

If she continued refusing and tussling with Bo Jingyan, she would come across as being too dramatic.
