Chapter 544: Chapter 544: Heart of Iron and Stone_1

Seeing Bo Jingyan laughing at a time like this, his mother’s face couldn’t help but darken.

"What are you laughing at?" she asked with a frown.

The smile on Bo Jingyan’s face didn’t diminish, albeit it lacked warmth.

"I’m just curious as to why I would exclude Shi Qian. Didn’t she tell you the reason why?" Instead of answering her question, he countered.

His mother was taken aback. "How would Qianqian know?" she asked, frowning.

Seeing her react this way, Bo Jingyan understood immediately. So, Shi Qian hadn’t told her anything, she was in the dark.

With that, he no longer kept it a secret. He detailed how Shi Qian conspired against Xia Qingtian and manipulated his fans to harm others during this time.

He was curious, would his mother’s attitude change after knowing what Shi Qian had done.

After hearing Bo Jingyan’s account, his mother was indeed taken aback.

She couldn’t believe what Shi Qian had been doing behind her back.

Despite her surprise, her objective of summoning Bo Jingyan hadn’t changed. She said, "You still shouldn’t have excluded her. The punishment is too severe."

Her words clearly demonstrated what it meant to have a biased heart.

"So, you want to take Shi Qian’s side?" Bo Jingyan asked her.

His mother fell silent.

However, her silence indicated her stance.

A mocking smile spread across Bo Jingyan’s handsome face, "You favor Shi Qian because you like her, and since I like Xia Qingtian, it’s natural that I would stand up for the woman I like."

"Because of Shi Qian, she nearly died under the wheels of a car. Shi Qian even secretly stirred up my young fans to sneak into the hospital to cause her harm the second time. This is something I absolutely can’t tolerate."

His mother opened her mouth to argue, but she and Shi Qian were both in the wrong in this matter.

Her tone softened a little, reminding him, "Don’t forget, Shi Qian saved my life. Without her, I may have already died from my cancer recurrence."

Bo Jingyan coldly retorted, "If it weren’t for her saving you, do you think she’d still live with the way I handle things?"

His mother understood his stance, he probably wouldn’t easily compromise on this matter.

She sighed, speaking in a pleading tone, "Even if I, as a mother, set aside my pride and beg you, won’t you change your mind?"

"No." Bo Jingyan replied adamantly, "No plea would do."

His mother instantly covered her head with her hands. Her face turned pale instantly and she seemed to be in great discomfort.

Seeing this, Bo Jingyan immediately left his study to call for Sister Ying.

Sister Ying realized something was wrong upon seeing his mother’s state. She quickly went and found the medication, poured a glass of water, and had her take it.

But even after taking the medicine, his mother’s complexion didn’t improve. She still seemed to be in a lot of discomfort.

Sister Ying then went over to massage her temples in an attempt to relieve her pain.

Seeing that the medicine didn’t help, Bo Jingyan frowned, "Didn’t she just take her medication? Why is she still in so much discomfort?"

While massaging his mother’s temples, Sister Ying explained with a pained expression, "Madam has been taking this medication for many years, her body has developed a resistance to it. The effects of this medication are minimal."

"Then change the prescription." Saying so, Bo Jingyan took out his phone, ready to call a private doctor to replace his mother’s medication.

"It’s no use." Sister Ying dissuaded him and said helplessly, "Madam has tried many medications over the years, none of which have been effective. This one has the most noticeable effect but it’s still incapable of curing the root cause."

Saying so, she looked at Bo Jingyan, her words filled with underlying meaning, "Actually, the best way to relieve Madam’s discomfort is to keep her in a good mood, try not to make her anxious, distressed, and comply with her as much as possible."

Upon hearing this, Bo Jingyan’s face tensed up.

What Sister Ying just said seemed more of an explicit hint than a subtle one.

She was suggesting that he should heed his mother’s words and stop making things difficult for Shi Qian, and let the past be the past.

Bo Jingyan would not easily compromise this time.

"If she’s not feeling well, treatment is always the best option. One shouldn’t hide or ignore their condition..." he said, "The world doesn’t revolve around one person, and not everything can be to one’s liking. I will find the best doctor for her."

Once he finished speaking, he ignored Sister Ying and made a phone call.

Not too long after, the pill his mother took finally started to work. Under the effects of the medication, she drifted off into a drowsy slumber.

The private doctor Bo Jingyan had summoned arrived as well.

He left the doctor in the old mansion to attend to his mother’s health.

Once everything was taken care of, he prepared to leave.

Upon seeing this, Sister Ying immediately asked, "Young Master, Madam has not yet woken up. You’re leaving already?"

"Yes." Bo Jingyan didn’t deny it. He instead counter-asked, "Since I can’t possibly fulfill all her requests, it’s better for me to leave instead of causing her frustration."

Having said that, he opened the door and prepared to leave.

However, the moment he stepped out of the room, he bumped into Shi Qian.

Upon seeing him, Shi Qian’s eyes instantly lit up. Then, as though she remembered something, she recoiled slightly and said timidly, "I heard that Mother Bo isn’t feeling well. I came to visit her."

Bo Jingyan didn’t respond to her, he didn’t even cast her a look, he simply moved past her and left.

Standing still, Shi Qian looked at his retreating figure. Thinking about his coldness and indifference, she bit her lip indignantly. She was full of resentment.

She vowed to replace Xia Qingtian in his heart.

With that thought in mind, her expression softened slightly. She then went to pay a visit to his mother.

However, his mother was already asleep.

After a brief glance, she left and returned to her own room.

The next day.

With full confidence, Shi Qian logged into her social media account, intending to post an update to inform her fans and the general public that she had not been blacklisted and would soon return to the public eye.

But when she tried to post, she realized that she still couldn’t. She found this strange.

What was going on here?

Bo Jingyan was summoned to the villa by his mother yesterday, by rights, this matter should have been resolved.

Why was she still unable to post anything? It was almost the same as when she was blacklisted.

Could it be that those people were saying one thing and doing another?

Or perhaps, was Bo Jingyan too busy and hadn’t found the time to lift her ban?

A flurry of thoughts crossed Shi Qian’s mind, along with a sense of foreboding.

No way!

She had to get this matter clarified!
