Chapter 532: Chapter 532: Reaping the Bitter Fruit_1

Thinking of Lady Bo’s character, Bo Jingyan found himself admitting that Xia Qingtian had a point.

At the same time, he let out a huge sigh of relief.

If this matter was truly orchestrated by Lady Bo, he would have a major headache.

He looked towards Jian Xuan, instructed him, "Continue investigating. We must ascertain whether the mastermind behind the assistant is Lady Bo or someone else."

The most likely "someone else" would be Shi Qian.

Upon realizing this, a murderous intent filled Bo Jingyan’s deep-set eyes. If Jian Xuan’s investigation revealed that Shi Qian was the real puppeteer, then...

If Shi Qian dared to harm Qingtian and attempted to frame Lady Bo, he would make her pay in blood for what she did!!!

...

The next day.

The results of Qingtian’s check-up were finally in.

There was nothing wrong with her health, and the doctor gave her permission to be discharged.

Bo Jingyan, still feeling slightly worried, couldn’t keep her in the hospital any longer.

Learning that she could finally get discharged, Qingtian’s mood lifted immensely.

Even though the hospital Jingyan picked for her was excellent in terms of environment and medical facilities, and the VIP ward was as luxurious as a presidential suite in a five-star hotel, she hated staying in hospitals.

Nowhere else was as sweet as home, even more so when An’an, her adorable pet, was waiting for her there.

After Bo Jingyan brought Qingtian back home, he didn’t leave right away. Instead, he stayed and played with An’an.

Qingtian thought that An’an needed her father’s company and allowed it.

It wasn’t until after dinner, when it was getting late, that Jingyan showed no signs of leaving.

She couldn’t help but look curiously at him. At that moment, he was scanning through his emails on his laptop, his gold-rimmed glasses sitting on his nose, radiating a sophisticated, unruly charm.

For several minutes, Qingtian stared at him, spellbound.

Not until Jingyan, feeling the burning intensity of her gaze, looked up and met her eyes with a teasing smile, asking, "What do you think? Am I good-looking?"

Only then did she snap back to reality, refusing to take his bait and quickly averting her gaze.

Following that, unable to control herself, she let out a yawn and voiced her confusion, "It’s late now. Aren’t you going home?"

Closing his laptop, Bo Jingyan adjusted his glasses with his slender hand, clearly defined by veins, and answered, "No, I’m not leaving."

"Why?" Qingtian looked at him, puzzled.

Haven’t they been living separately ever since he lost his memory? Previously, she went to great lengths, even making some deals, to get him to keep living here. But as their relationship grew increasingly strained, he moved out of the villa. Why had he suddenly decided not to leave this time?

Bo Jingyan set down his laptop, got up and moved closer to her. He ruffled her hair and responded, "I can’t rest easy until Jian Xuan’s investigation results come out. I need to keep you under my watchful eye."

Hearing this, Qingtian was touched by his caring, yet she couldn’t help but harbor a spark of hope.

She thought Jingyan had changed his mind and decided to move back in with her.

However, listening to what he just said, it appeared he only intended to stay until Jian Xuan had the matter completely investigated and the culprit identified to ensure that no one would harm her again. Then, he would likely move out.

But she quickly regained her spirit.

If he moved out, so be it. Once she clarified to Bo Jingyan that she was willing to start over with him, knowing him well, it wouldn’t take any urging on her part for him to move back in.

"Alright then..." Qingtian nodded nonchalantly, saying, "This is your home anyway. You can stay if you want. I’m feeling a bit tired and need to sleep. Go ahead and do whatever you wish."

With that, she pushed away Bo Jingyan’s hand, which was playfully tousling her hair, turned around, and went upstairs to rest.

Bo Jingyan stood right where he was, watching her completely at ease as if he was a member of the household. Not realizing it, a smile seeped into his eyes.

...

A couple days later, Jian Xuan showed up again.

Without needing to ask, both Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan knew that he had solved the case.

Without wasting any words, Bo Jingyan immediately asked, "What are the results of the investigation? Whose side is the scheming assistant really on?"

"It’s Shi Qian’s side." Jian Xuan answered.

Hearing the answer, Both Xia Qingtian and Bo Jingyan were not surprised, because it was along the lines of what they had expected.

Xia Qingtian turned to Bo Jingyan, "How are you planning to deal with this?"

Bo Jingyan replied in a cold tone, "Since she dared to plan against you, I will make her completely disappear from this world."

"That’s not necessary." Xia Qingtian advised.

Upon hearing this, he furrowed his eyebrows, looking at her, "You’re not going to tell me that you have a soft spot for Shi Qian, who almost ruined your reputation, and even nearly got you killed in a car accident."

"How could that be possible?" Xia Qingtian smiled mockingly, her voice icy, "I just think that doing as you suggested is a bit boring. I have a better plan."

With that, she couldn’t help but reveal a cruel smile.

Shi Qian, who had schemed against Cheng Bingbing at the Hua-Ji Awards Gala and stolen her role, had the audacity to mess with her again. Letting her disappear, as Bo Jingyan suggested, seemed to be letting her off too easily.

Moreover, Shi Qian had once saved Lady Bo’s life, so Lady Bo would really protect her. Bo Jingyan might not be able to lay a finger on her.

Perhaps, in the end, not even a hair on Shi Qian’s head would be harmed.

Instead of that, it would be better to find another way to make Shi Qian lose what she cared about the most.

"What do you mean?" Seeing that she was carrying some hidden meaning in her words, Bo Jingyan arched an eyebrow, questioning her.

With a mischievous smile on her face, Xia Qingtian leaned over to whisper in Bo Jingyan’s ear.

After listening, a smile flashed across Bo Jingyan’s face.

"Alright, we’ll do as you said," he agreed, nodding his head.

After leaving the matter to Bo Jingyan, Xia Qingtian completely put it at the back of her mind.

She returned to her office and started working again.

The first thing she did when she arrived at the office was to give Cheng Bingbing a call, requesting her to come to the company.

Next, she convened an emergency meeting with the company management.

During the meeting, she spoke a lot. When it was over, she felt rather parched. She planned to pour herself a glass of water to moisten her throat.

However, just as her water had been fetching, she hadn’t even taken a sip when someone violently pushed the office door open. She got a fright, causing her to spill all the water in her glass.
