Chapter 530: Chapter 530: The Thin Young Master’s Reverse Scale_1

Bo Jingyan embraced Xia Qingtian for a while before finally releasing her.

After regaining her freedom, Xia Qingtian remembered, if she hadn’t fallen into the artificial pond, what was it that fell in and splashed water?

She instinctively glanced towards the pond.

She then saw Jiang Xuan coming up from the water, dragging an unconscious girl.

Immediately after pulling the girl from the water, Jiang Xuan began to administer emergency aid. Thankfully, she had been quickly retrieved after falling into the water.

After a few abdominal compressions by Jiang Xuan, she coughed up a mouthful of water.

As the girl regained consciousness and saw Bo Jingyan, her pupils constricted in fear. She retreated and chastised him, "It’s you, my sister’s fiancé! You not only cheated on her but also aided your mistress in kicking me into the water. You won’t get away with this. I’ll avenge my sister."

Upon hearing this, Xia Qingtian realized why the girl who had initially intended to drown her ended up falling into the water herself.

She didn’t think there was anything wrong with Bo Jingyan saving her in a key moment and pushing a girl into the water. In fact, it made her feel warm inside.

He was like her guardian angel, always appearing from nowhere whenever she was in danger, even when she didn’t need his help.

Bo Jingyan had just bought back the cheese cake that Xia Qingtian had wanted to eat. And then he noticed someone was trying to push her into the artificial pond.

He had just experienced her sudden unconsciousness for three full days, and was still on edge, so the last thing he could tolerate was someone trying to harm her.

As the saying goes: "The dragon has its reverse scale. Touch it, and you die."

And Xia Qingtian was his reverse scale.

Any attempt to harm Xia Qingtian was equivalent to touching his reverse scale.

In response to the girl’s provocation, Bo Jingyan smiled slowly. But the smile was extremely cold, devoid of warmth. "Well, you’d better not let us off. But you should be prepared."

For some reason, the normally fearless girl shuddered a bit as she glimpsed his cold smile. She unexpectedly felt a hint of fear.

She instinctively asked, "Prepared for what?"

"For daring to touch the woman I love, you should be prepared for my retaliation." Bo Jingyan spoke without vagueness, informing her of this fact.

The girl’s heart pounded like a drum, yet she soon calmed down.

She snorted, "Hmph, I’m not afraid of you."

"I hope you maintain this spirit and don’t beg for mercy." Bo Jingyan nodded slowly.

Then, he ignored the girl, took Xia Qingtian’s somewhat cold hand, and changed the topic. "I accidentally dropped the cheesecake and it’s ruined. I will get you another one later," he said in a warmer tone.

Xia Qingtian glanced at the discarded cake nearby, understanding that he had dropped it out of concern for her safety when he saw her in danger.

She hadn’t eaten the cake yet, but she felt like she’d already tasted its sweetness.

"Okay, you can buy it for me another day." She nodded in agreement.

Then, the two of them returned to the hospital room.

Bo Jingyan asked a soaking wet Jiang Xuan to change his clothes and investigate the girl’s background to give her a severe lesson.

As he spoke, a tangible murderous intention lurked in his eyes.

Jiang Xuan obeyed his orders, prepared to leave the ward.

Xia Qingtian suddenly stopped him, "Wait..."

"You’re not trying to plead for that woman, are you?" Bo Jingyan gave her a somewhat suspicious glance upon hearing this. "If that’s the case, there’s no need to say it."

"I can’t stand anyone trying to harm you. This time no one can intercede, not even you, the victim!!!" His voice exuded an authoritative tone that admitted no debate.

Xia Qingtian chuckled helplessly. "Am I such a saintly figure in your eyes? Others are trying to harm me, push me into the lake, and I’m supposed to intercede for them?"

Seeing her deny it, Bo Jingyan’s expression somewhat softened.

If Xia Qingtian had really pleaded, he would not have agreed or compromised, as he had said. Still, he was somewhat worried that it might upset her, damaging their relationship.

Fortunately, Xia Qingtian was clear-headed and did not plead for the girl.

"If you’re not pleading for her, then why did you stop Jiang Xuan?" Bo Jingyan asked, puzzled.

With a thoughtful look in her clear eyes, Xia Qingtian said, "If I’m not mistaken, this girl is a fan of Shi Qian. She came after me for revenge on behalf of Shi Qian."

At the mention of Shi Qian’s name, a cold chill flashed in Bo Jingyan’s deep eyes.

"Furthermore, she looks underage, and it doesn’t seem like she’s here by accident. I have a feeling this was all planned," Xia Qingtian, unaware of Bo Jingyan’s expression, continued. "I think it might be beneficial to investigate accordingly."

Jiang Xuan nodded, indicating his understanding, before turning to leave the hospital.

As Bo Jingyan’s special assistant, Jiang Xuan was very efficient.

By evening, he had followed Xia Qingtian’s advice, investigated the entire matter, and returned to the hospital to see Bo Jingyan.

Bo Jingyan knew as soon as he saw him that he had come to report the result of the investigation.

However, he didn’t intend to ask in front of Xia Qingtian. What she needed most now was proper rest. He could handle these matters.

Thinking this way, he told Jiang Xuan, "Let’s discuss it outside."

As Jiang Xuan nodded and was about to step out first,

Xia Qingtian interjected, "No need to go outside. Whatever you have to say, you can say it in front of me. I think as a victim, I have a right to know."

Bo Jingyan frowned. His approach this time wouldn’t be gentle, and he didn’t want to scare Xia Qingtian. Hence, the best way might be to keep her in the dark and not involve her.

"No..." he reflexively began to refuse.

Xia Qingtian interrupted him, "I know you want to protect me, but I’m not a fragile flower in a greenhouse, unable to withstand storms. If you don’t tell me now, and I encounter similar schemes in the future, should I fall for them twice? She sighed, then continued, "Only if I know the truth can I protect myself when I’m alone. You have to run the vast Bo Group, and I have my own career. You can’t protect me twenty-four hours a day."
