Xia Qingtian blinked, looking at the man holding her hand by her sickbed.

"Jingyan?" She tentatively called out.

Bo Jingyan firmly held her hand, his voice was somewhat hoarse as he replied, "Yes, it’s me."

Xia Qingtian’s pupils quivered slightly, and she was somewhat taken back by the shock.

She wasn’t surprised as to why Bo Jingyan would stay by her sickbed, but rather surprised that he seemed so worn out. His handsome face was riddled with exhaustion and due to the lack of upkeep, his face was filled with a bristly beard.

Of course, this didn’t detract from his charm. If anything, it added an air of melancholic and rugged beauty that tugged at the heartstrings.

However, she felt like she had never seen Bo Jingyan like this before.

Neither before nor after her amnesia.

"What happened to you?" Xia Qingtian couldn’t resist reaching out and touching Bo Jingyan’s face with her free hand.

"You don’t understand." Bo Jingyan said in a hoarse voice.

The door to the ward was gingerly knocked and then slightly pushed open, with someone tentatively asking, "Mr. Bo, is Qingtian awake?"

Bo Jingyan stopped her, however, "She’s still injured, don’t hurt her accidentally."

Cheng Bingbing quickly nodded, obediently saying, "Okay, I’ll be careful."

Seeing this, the corner of Xia Qingtian’s mouth twitched slightly. When she had just woken up, she didn’t know who it was that had pulled her into a tight embrace.

With that, Bo Jingyan finally left, satisfied.

After he left, Xia Qingtian’s eyebrows furrowed tightly as she muttered to herself, perplexed, "What’s wrong with him? Why is he acting so strange?"

Now, only Xia Qingtian and Cheng Bingbing remained in the ward.

Without the constraints she felt in front of Bo Jingyan, Cheng Bingbing spoke up when she heard Qingtian’s muttering, "I think I might know why Mr. Bo is acting this way."

"You know?" Xia Qingtian was somewhat surprised, raising her brows.

"Yes," Cheng Bingbing nodded and replied, "He must have been scared by your accident. Do you know how long you’ve been unconscious following your crash?"

Xia Qingtian glanced at the sky outside and saw that it had darkened. She said, "After the accident, I was admitted to the hospital and woke up the same day, didn’t I?"

"Not at all," Cheng Bingbing corrected her, "You’ve been unconscious for three days."

Xia Qingtian was slightly taken aback, "I was unconscious for that long?"

No wonder when she saw Bo Jingyan, his face was so haggard and lined with exhaustion. Turned out she’d been unconscious for three days. Then...
